Cassie, I'm pretty sure this isn't a foundation. This seems like a comparable item to Auric Glow Lust and Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter. And as for Maybelline having foundation with a sponge on top like the concealer...I remember buying that years ago. They might even still sell it. I would love to see you try this again as a primer/natural highlighter. I'm very curious how it would differ in that capacity.

Why do you always use obviously light coverage foundations/BB creams/etc like you would a full coverage formula? Usually if it's meant to be light/natural coverage, if you try to apply too much, it will always end up badly...
Also...BB creams and primers (which is what this is) does NOT need an extensive shade range. It covered the basics just fine with the 5 provided. It's supposed to be light coverage enough that it will automatically blend into your skin tone (they had it right). If you used it as intended, you'd agree with that...

    I have 2 thoughts:
    1. Maybelline really messed up on the positioning of this product. I immediately knew they were going for the Hollywood Flawless filter alternative. By calling it foundation+concealaer they really confused a ton of people. I don't have oily skin and originally love Charlotte Tillbury products and this one became one of my favorites as well. It is perfect as a sheer wash of glow on my face when I'm not wearing any makeup. It also looks pretty patted on top of the foundation. If they would call it a "glow perfector" or something, I think that would work out much better in the long run.
    2. I've watched your videos for many years now and I really feel like you are not the right person to give opinionated results on any sort of "glow" or "light coverage" face products. In my opinion, you seem to like heavier coverage (med-full), a matte finish, and a long-lasting ability. I feel like you don't like most of the light coverage products for the same reasons (gets oily, wipes off etc.) but that is how any light product will behave on oily skin (I know - I used to have one lol). My skin is fairly clear and dry now and I know that I will despise ANY heavy coverage foundation on me - simply because that is not what my skin is compatible with. Obviously, you can try whatever you want and feel any way about it (please don't see my comment as hate - more as food for thought). I just feel that any time I see you posting a review of a glowy product I know what you will say.

I was so confused after watching your review! This product isn't actually labelled as a foundation, but as a perfector that acts as a primer, concealer, highlighter and BB cream, all in one. A BB cream is somewhere between a moisturizer, and a foundation, and is defined as a beauty, or blemish balm. They usually contain antioxidants, a broad spectrum SPF, brightening agents, etc., that are meant to treat the skin while providing an overall, even glow. Likely, this perfector that you tested is not a foundation at all, Cassie, but it is a product that can better prepare the skin prior to the application of an additional foundation! That would help to explain why there were only five shades available, and why it provided significant glow to the skin. Charlotte Tilbury has a similar product, I believe. It would be interesting to see how it performs under a separate foundation application, but I don't think it should be considered as an actual foundation, itself. Canadian hugs, Cassie, Sherrey💕

After tons of trying…the key is LESS IS MORE & the applicator is a MUST!! ive heard tons of ppl say they cut it off. DONT!! Dont use a lot of product & dab it on for the entire application & if u have time pat it in with ur fingers gently & u will LOVE IT!! This will also help in the color adjusting part. The more product the less it adjusts. I use this almost every day & a cream blush & its all i use.

I research the product 'minimally' (only reading the website's description and some of the reviews underneath) so that I don't go into a review with any biases as to how a product will or won't work for me. Nowhere on Maybelline or Ulta's website did this get marketed as something that requires a foundation on top of it in order to be worn 'correctly'; it says that it's an all in one product that primes, conceals, highlights, and provides coverage so that's how I used it (as an all in one, not an all in one plus one additional product sold separately).
