Hey guys! Would you also like to try kayaking in Kochi? Let us know down below! Also, for a chance to win an Amazon Gift Card, fill out our survey about Kochi! bit.ly/Kochi-Survey
Just a note on the survey… I didn’t know where Kochi was before the video… but I do know now… Perhaps modify the questions to ask, “Before watching the video, did you know about…” Then you could add another answer of “I didn’t know, but I do now I’ve watched the video” Without these options it’s tricky to answer otherwise! And if you are gathering info to show a tourist board that you have been effective, it would be good to have clear evidence that the video works! I kind of specialise in these kinds of surveys and would happily give you an hour or so of my time for free as a pressie for all the wonderful content you’ve given us! If you’d like to reach out to me, go ahead :-)

Lol! Aki looking up into the mountains and singing the beginning of the Halo theme, appropriate song choice for such a view. You rock Emma, love your videos! Very cool of the Kochi government to sponsor it too.
Kochi!! I lived on Shikoku Island in Tokushima for 3 years. There are always new places to explore and see. DID YOU TRY surfing in Kochi? It is where many Kansai people from places like Kobe and Osaka go on the weekends to catch some waves 🌊
4:37 I love seeing the mountains in Japan. We don't really have any in my part of the US. I got some really great shots and footage when visiting Mt. Fuji. 🗻
Love those see-through kayaks! I wish I had one, or a see-through paddleboard. Unfortunately, I paddle on the River Thames which you can't really see much through ha ha
What is punishing about the video, you look like an abroad in Japan commenter on his videos where he makes highlights out of comments because of the sheer grammar practicality of your statement
This was so relaxing to watch on a Sunday morning with a cup of tea and a jam donut (Aki was right, I was hungry). Looks like a gorgeous spot, would love to try snorkelling there! And those vegetables looked better than a Getty image, damn 😍
I’m a yosakoi dancer from the United States! Performing in Kochi is a dream of mine and I’m literally in awe of how beautiful everything was in this video ❤️ maybe I’ll add kayaking to my list of things to do there 😂
Enjoyed watching Aki and Emma kayaking in such a beautiful place. Pineapple 🍍 is awesome on pizza 🍕! The food looked delicious and it looked like a fabulous time was had! Makes me want to get outside myself! Thanks for the great video!
I love the absolute focus on Aki's face. "I got this, I GOT THIS!!". To Emma "Is this YOUR first time kayaking?" Emma responds "Ar ya daft girl? I was BORN in a Kayak!!"
@@Adi-Dassler I only found out about it when looking up to see if all Canadian international schools in Japan required Ontario certification since it's different from the rest of Canada. Meitoku Gijuku School in Kochi apparently uses Manitoba certification
Hello Emma and Aki! Thank you for sharing such a cool adventure! I love following you both! Please take us to Kochi City someday I would love to see it from your experiences. Much love~
The water looks amazing! So sad I couldn't go to Kochi this year, definitely gonna do some kayaking when I'm there next year for the yosakoi festival! Thanks for the shoutout Emma!
The water loooooooks good! I was granted a 5-year multiple entry visa literally just before the pandemic. Hopefully I’ll be able to use it before it expires.
@@TheWiseGrif i know right! Getting multiple entry visa is really hard. With how the pandemic affected my source of income, I don’t really think they will grant me multiple entry visa with the amount of money in my bank. Hahaha. Sad
Well, I do know of two spots consistently that have clean, clear blue water here in the US. Both are in Central Florida and are called Crystal Springs and Blue Springs. I've lived in the state since 2010 and visited both, each time amazed at how clear the water is. The water is at 72⁰F year round and a haven for manatees in the winter down here. As for other places with as clear a water clarity in the US, I'm pretty sure there are a good number of snowmelt fed rivers that follow the Rockies Mountain chain in adjacent states. Abandoned pit quarry's are also a good spot to look for but they can be deceptive with how clear the water can be. What looks like 5 feet may end up being close to 100
@@xm-5178 Oooh, I have seen photos of those places in Florida, they are gorgeous!! I really hope to go one day. I actually grew up in a town that had old granite quarries you could swim in, but they were very murky. One place I've seen for sure that has crystal clear water is Schoolhouse Beach on Washington Island in Door County Wisconsin. It was a little too cold for comfort when I was there, but SO beautiful.
@@april_marie, Yeah, but the fisherman in me always thinks whenever I see those fish swimming in those waters, "Hmm, I wonder what they'll bite today?" This being Florida, your kinda obligated to do some fishing eventually as we're a peninsula
Think I once watched a blog sharmelon did here but the water was so cold when she visited ( sorry if I got this wrong ) but it’s great to to see my other favourite girl Emma on the water . Peace and love
You guys, I'm SO jealous! We've not been able to go back to Japan in the last 2 years (or indeed anywhere outside of the UK- obvs) . SO, we decided to buy a kayak to try it out (we were kayak virgins with some sort of mid-life crisis vibe going on). We've just been packing up and going along local (ish) rivers, but would LOVE to do the Kochi river - きれいでづね?! One day we will make it back ! ♡ And Aki, you did an awesome job for you 1st time, I kept going into banks and bushes and had literally no clue 😁
I would love to go kayaking there! I recently went kayaking on a nice slow river in the Netherlands for the first time in 10 years or so and to was lovely except the FIRST thing I did after being launched into the water was stick my paddle in too deep and roll over. Lost my sunglasses and drinking bladder and of course it was muddy so I couldn't get them back! 😢
Hey! I have just started planning our honeymoon to Japan (so excited!) And this is the kind of thing we would love to do whilst there. We are planning to go in September, is that still a good time to go kayaking and enjoy doing outdoor stuff? Thanks for any advice x
I can live without it shellfish....I'm allergic. XD That river looks beautiful and so calm. You work off all the energy and then you get to have a BBQ. Which is prepped for you! YUMMY!
Im kinda facinated with the grilled veggies. I mean when I think/do barbecue, its always involves meat, meat, more meat, seafood, more seafood, more meat and very rarely some sweet corn.

Japan is so beautiful!
The water there in Kochi is beautiful! I would love to come and kayak over there.
Also, 10/10 would kayak with both Emma & Aki.
Looks so chilled 👍🏻🇯🇵
Kochi is such a beautiful place in Japan
Great, now i have "go aki go" in my head, thanks Emma!
That looks like such a great experience! Kayaking on that river would have been so gorgeous. And the bbq looked amazing!
The kayaking and river looked crazy beautiful. The clear kayak is such a good idea.
Well now I have another destination for my dream Japan trip!
@4:30 That river looks amazing!!
The famous OZY quote.. "Thats not a knife, this is a knife".
Aki showing the food whos boss!!
I can't get over how beautiful that place is! What a dreamy summer day
Ok, that river really looks amazing. Being the die hard fisherman I am, I just kept thinking what lurks below and how could I catch them

One reason I'd like to visit Kochi is there's a blacksmith in that area who offers patrons the opportunity to work with him to forge their own knife.
13:06 I had yakiniku at a place in Shinjuku and it was honestly my best meal in Japan, including the place that cost $100 per person.

Me, a Mexican watching how they are impressed by the green lemon: That's a normal lemon.
That's a lime*
