    Thank you for these videos! I’m vegan but I’ve suffered with ferritin issues forever. I have lots of hair so it didn’t bother me that my hair was falling out so much until it started looking like my hair is receding in the front. Your black strap molasses comment helped me. I take that along with lots of greens and fruits and whole grains and an iron pill by Thorne. I’m noticing my gray hair is going away. That’s cool! Thank you for your calming and positive personality while doing these videos. I know you are helping give a lot of people hope with their hair situation. Stay blessed :)

      That's interesting. I am vegan also. But my hair issues started way before I went vegan. However, I have found that making sure my iodine and, zinc, iron, magnesium, boron and selenium were optimal. All the foods she mentions will help. I also now "hyper nourish". Hyper nourishing is a term by Dr Brooke Goldner you can find her on you tube and she has a website. She is a vegan Dr. She had lupus, stage 4 renal failure an mini strokes and yet cured herself. She mainly does autoimmunity but loads and loads of people do the hyper nourishing protocol for GOOD HEALTH and it was actually Thomas Tadlock her husband who got her onto this protocol in the first place. It's a green smoothie but the ratos of how its put together is what is key to the success. I do it now most days. It was hard work consuming it in the beginning like in the first two weeks but your body switches by week three and now my body just asks for the smoothies. Seriously!!! It really helped I think so much with my nutrition and my hair fall. She helped me reverse sub clinical hypothyroidism within 7 weeks and that was my original reason for joining it after a You Tuber suggeted it!!!! She has a great book and a Facebook page you can join. I now feel sooooo much better and I reduced my stress a lot too my incorporating restorative yoga ( heart alchemy yoga on you tube is the best as she doesn't interpret constantly like others do) and I do that 3 times a week before I go to bed. If you need to cut your hair to help then do it. I did and I don't regret it. It is much healthier for it too. So for now, I am helping my hair by having in quite short. I also use a hair oil which I found off the website Etsy which is brilliant for conditioning my scalp. I can't recall the name exactly but it has amazing herbs etc in it. The company name is "something,,,, BARNET" in the UK and the lad who sells it did a you tube video. I think that has helped my hair too without doubt. But it is mainly what's going on inside your body. What this video has to say is very very true although I am not sure if spirulina is ok in otherways. Check out nutritionfacts.org as I think Dr Greger had a warning about it for some other reason besides iron. Just check.

    Hi I had unplanned weight loss two years ago due to stress, which I think finally tipped my ferritin levels too low (12 at the lowest). I also think heavy periods have contributed. I've been taking Ferrus Fumerate, Vit C and L-Lysene as a combination which has pumped up my levels. I never used to eat beef (I don't really like it) but it's now in my diet. I knew something was wrong when my hair started falling out and breaking off. My hair is still nowhere near what it was but it has at least stopped falling out! I'd love to get my old hair back but not sure if that will happen. Thank you for your youtube journey - it's always helpful to see other people with similar issues. I wish you well and lots of lovely new hair growth!! :)

    Here are some other vitamins you should include in your diet to help the hair growth. Beside iron and i like liquid iron like Floradix. You should watch your iodine make sure you have enough. Iodine is important for your hormones mainly your Thyroid which is the master gland controlling all the hormones in your body. Low iodine will be another cause of hair loss and it’s hard to find in your regular diet so it’s best to supplement. Another vitamin that’s absolutely necessary for your immune system and overall health is D3. D3 is essential to good health and may cause hair loss if your levels are low. Fish oils are great source of good fats. And most of all drink lots and lots of water. Like the flowers need water to grow so do our hair.

    For iron deficiency, you need heme-iron which has a 50% absorption rate in the body. Iron in plants only has a 5% absorption rate. Heme-iron is found in liver and red meat.

    • @CarolynRosefolksnaturalliving
      @CarolynRosefolksnaturalliving 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This is true. For those people who don't eat liver or red meat it is much harder to obtain enough iron in the day. Taking Vitamin C with plants rich in iron will help the absorption rate.

The worst of my hair fall started in 2015. I eventually chopped my hair off in 2016 (to ear length). I started taking iron pills January 2017. I noticed my my hair not falling out as much around the end of March. And the last three months I have noticed some new hair growth! :) it has definitely been a journey.

My lashes started to fell out too. Now I have thin hair :(. And my nails stopped growing which is very weird because I've always complained that I need to cut them off very often. I have iron of 56 and ferritin 30. The doctor told me I'm iron deficient(I was vegetarian for almost a decade) and now I'm taking two iron pills of 100mg each everyday. • @CarolynRosefolksnaturalliving
      @CarolynRosefolksnaturalliving 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are correct, the calcium blocks some of the absorption of iron, so if you want to avoid that you can add it into a smoothie that is high in vitamin C to increase the absorption of iron. I personally just love the taste of it in my yogurt. :)

    My hb and iron levels have significantly improved but my ferritin levels are dropping every month. I have taken iron pills and now have to switched to mega food blood builder plus I am eating healthy, but nothing seems to be improving my ferritin levels. I have had a full body checkup and everything else is normal except ferritin. Lost so much hair, don't know what to do😭

      That's definitely an option! One draw back is that cereal is usually served with milk which contains calcium which hinders the absorption of iron

    soooo the same thing that happend to you is happening to me. my hair fall still hasn't stoppen but i see some new growth. its been falling for 4 years now but i only addressed it 7 months ago . only been taking iron pills for 3 months now. diet change for 7 months. still hair fall . not sure where my ferritin is now,i figured its still falling out so its still not high enough, y test ? at least untill i see the shedding stop.. but. mine was from being vegan for a year and i have a heavy menstrual cycle. but i do know for a fact that is is from being vegan and not specifically menstrual because my period stopped when i was vegan and that is when the hair loss started.

    • @CarolynRosefolksnaturalliving

      I have been able to balance my iron levels by taking iron supplements. Although eating liver and steak can do this too, some people might not want to eat these because of personal ethical beliefs.
