Dear zara.. whats the difference between fabricating an occlusal splint handcrafted with the one using a durasoft laminate? Any explanation? Thank you in advance ❤
The handcrafted is a hard splint acrylic for grinders. Especially at nighttime. The Durasoft has a soft layer touching teeth for maximum comfort. Lets say you havent worn it for a week or two You can also put it in warm water and it will readjust itself when put back on mouth. A traditional hard night guard splint will be extremely tight

Do we need ti open the bite for any splint ?
Yes. It helps otherwise patient will be grinding right through it constantly

What exactly is that powder called? And are you using just standard mineral oil?
Heat cure acrylic or Cold cure?
It's cold cure monomer and polymer BUT placed in a heated pressure pot...
