    10:21 if you're in a country with safe drinking water there is nothing dangerous about drinking from the glass in a restaurant.
    "but other people drank out of it...." They also ate off the plates and forks.
    coffee drinks are really silly. A latte is when you pour steamed milk into espresso, a machiatto is when you pour espresso into steamed milk. Yes it makes a difference.

    • @hunterking43
      @hunterking43 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      There's a little more nuance than that for the latte/macchiato difference. Lattes are basically what you said, an espresso drink with steamed milk or cream mixed in. The big difference is that a macchiato isn't mixed. It's meant to be a layer of foamed cream or milk on top of a dark espresso base.

    • @jypsridic

      @@hunterking43 that's a cappuccino

    • @MissVickyCakes
      @MissVickyCakes 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      You're right about lattes, but a machiatto is equal parts espresso to foamed milk. A cappuccino is also espresso topped with foamed milk but with a greater proportion of foam to espresso with a bit of steamed milk in the mix as well. A cortado is a drink that's equal parts espresso and steamed milk. The ratio of espresso to steamed milk or foam is what defines a macchiato and a cortado.

      I am confident that restaurants wash their plates and cups pretty well. During a student work program at a hotel assisting with cleaning in the kitchen and breakfast area and they cleaned the dishes well and I just assume that restaurants do things in a similar fashion.

    With those, they never seem to realize that people from different countries watch them. If it's somewhere cold, you would wear socks to sleep. Or if you have a poor blood circulation. People that live in apartments have nowhere to hide keys outside, since there's no gardens or anything.

    For the burger question, you really should cook burgers to at least medium well for safety. Since the meat is ground the possible microbes that would normally just be on the surface are spread throughout and the temps to kill them off are, iirc, either medium well or medium.

    Burgers are one of the few beef products I cook well. It’s ground meat. It’s much more likely to be contaminated or have bacteria internally. It’s a a safety issue more than it is a flavor issue.
    Ground meat, chicken, pork, and most fish need to be thoroughly cooked.

      Chicken and ground beef, yes.
      Pork and fish, no. Pork mostly used to need cooked thoroughly because of a specific parasite that used to be VERY common but is now VERY VERY VERY rare and you could cook pork rare now if you so wished, most people just won't. And fish you can outright eat raw, sashimi and sushi often use raw fish (it CAN be made with cooked fish, but a lot of sushi IS made with raw fish). I find the thought of it disgusting, but, it does NOT need to be thoroughly cooked as it does not strictly need cooked at all.

      Depends on which country you are in and what type of meet you buy, at least in the country I grew up in and in the one I live in atm there are some meets (often pork or beef) that are supposed to be eaten raw and therefore have very strickt regulations and guidelines placed up on them
      Chicken and similar things of course should always be cooked through
      With fish it also depends on where you are since a fresh high quality fish does not need to be cooked in order to be consumed safely, however every fish that's not very fresh, or has been frozen and defrosted at some point, should be cooked, as well as fish that's lower quality

    as a cook I hate people who bitch about well done burgers. there are legitimate food and safety reasons for that. ground meat has to be thoroughly cooked because its a blended product. with a steak you can has medium or rare because its a solid product the bacteria on the surface will be killed by the cooking process and it doesn't penetrate to the interior. but when you grind something those surface bacteria are mixed throughout the entirety of the product, it has to be completely cooked to kill everything. I've seen food every step along the way raising it, kill, butcher, and cooked there are reasons for everything its not because "we hate flavor"

    Ok, y'all. I know with meat safety standards, it ain't a huge risk, but you should always eat ground meat well done. The reason beef steaks (and whatever others this applies to) can be eaten in varying degrees of doneness is because the...erm... we'll go with infectious agents...the infectious agents can't penetrate into the meat very well. It is pretty much just at the surface. But when you grind it up, all that surface gets mixed in with the rest of the meat, and the grain is also practically non-existent now too. Or rather, it's a lot looser. Thus, the meat is not as safe raw. Again, most of the time, this won't matter if the meat is butchered and packaged cleanly, but the works of man are always fallible.
    Therefore, I will eat my burgers and other such foods well done, but I'll go to medium on my steaks. Still not a big rare guy though.

    I tend to prefer canned soda for the following reasons:
    1) They tend to be smaller, and I find that by the time I finish with a larger soda it's more flat, so the cans tend to be the perfect size for a single drink while maintaining as much fizz as possible.
    2) Plastic bottles tend to over time leech some plasticky taste into the soda which isn't particularly pleasant. Cans and glass don't have this problem (though cans can leech a bit of a metallic taste depending on type and quality of can over very long periods of time)
    3) Cans are useful for the same reason tinted glass is useful, exposure to light, especially sunlight, can break down compounds in the beverage and give them an off flavor.
    4) Plastic bottles are well, plastic.
    I find cans to be the perfect balance between size, fizziness, and flavor preservation. Second for me is glass, and plastic bottles are last.

    Also no one talks about how pieces of sock residue get on your feet throughout the day, so when you take them off you get sock pieces on the ground when you walk. I just sleep in them and take them off before showering in the morning

      I take off socks right after I come back home and if there's some fabric residue left on my feet I just throw it in the trash. Plus not all socks leave it and not every time, I think it happens more often when it's hot and your feet sweat a lot.

    10:00 Is this like an American thing? Because nowhere have I been to do they give you a straw, unless you ask for one, and even then, straws are usually seen as something for children, so asking for one makes you seem a tad childish (no one will judge you, but that is the perception of drinking straws).
    Do Americans drinks with straws in a bar too then??? Like bars will have even more germs than a restaurant would! Other than a cocktail, I’ve definitely not drunk from a straw in a bar!

    LMAO both me and Junk said that about 18% of ppl wearing socks at night XD Also I'm 18 but haven't gone to highschool because of my disease and my stupid teachers and principal not getting me my homework when I was in the hospital and in January I was just in and out twice with my mom and school was over by then. Then I got home schooled for a year and then a Christian school for like five or six then dropped out when I was in tenth and twelfth grade at that point cause God told me to because I told Father I'd be His puppet and He probably did that because of covid and there was an outbreak once and everyone was at home for only a week or to and God told me "No, get out of there. I don't care if that boy that loves you back is still there, I said no because you are way more important than those humans." but I am a girl and funny thing is I also still have my gymnastics, ballet, and cheerleading outfits and the ballet shoes I remember having still but not the pairs I used for both gym and cheer :p
