    I mean his style is influenced by bruce lee’s which is pretty much confirmed based on the starting fight stance he hits later on in the manga. (I wont say against who so I don’t spoil) Bruce Lee’s style does use elements of boxing taekwondo and wing chun. However based on how free and fluidly Gojo lays hands I would say he follows the core of Bruce’s philosophy (moving unrestricted like water) and uses the style as his medium to do so. We are also liable to believe that he did some training in those styles but who knows

    the jjk author uses a lot of inspiration from iconic martial artists and martial art movies so gojo doing wing chun isnt out of the water. you will probably recognize a lot of stances and techniques in the later arcs with other characters as well. gojo been going crazy in the manga with his hand to hand combat and one of his fighting stances pretty much screams bruce lee 😂 this man was trained since he was a lil kid and is confirmed to be good at anything he puts effort into, that includes handling weapons as well. you remember the red three-sectioned staff they used a lot in s1 and movie? Yeah, that weapon was originally owned by the Gojo family. Goated fr 🤺

    Wing Chun guy here
    1) The lap sau is done well by Gojo here, but he mainly did it to circle around Sukuna. In Wing Chun by default, it is done by shifting the opponent off to disrupt their balance, so that the Wing Chun practitioner stays in place, like a hinge on a door. The hinge doesnt move when you push the door, you are moving the hinge by pushing the door. Again this is by default, when we have to side step or circle out it is fine because Sukuna has insane power.
    2) The side palm Gojo uses is a straight line strike is taught in Wing Chun, but for me it is just a universal strike. Many arts have a low side palm. The anime shows a rising palm which is a legit palm strike, but its more for the chin strike or an arm break (Wing Chun is conceptual), it isnt ideal for a body strike because you would damage your wrist or fingers. Id rather punch or do a groin grab 😅.
    3) Yep frame by frame the Gojo vs Miguel fight was inspired from that Ip Man fight.

    • @Explainar0
      @Explainar0 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can even see him keeping his elbows down during the palms, the centerline is strong with this one lol

  • @NotEvenOverThere
    @NotEvenOverThere ปีที่แล้ว +154

    Gojo definitely does use the three martial arts you brought up in the video, having knowledge and having experience aren’t the same thing. You might not be able to throw the kicks but you could identify them, and you actually did pretty well. Taekwondo for the spinning attacks and kicks, boxing for the hooks and wing chun for the main combos. This makes sense seeing as he hails from Japan and they’re are popular martial arts over there. He definitely isn’t a wrestler or Muay Thai fighter, and capoeira is a maybe simply because of how he moves so fluidly but he doesn’t do any of the actual movements.

    As animators, especially MAPPA, loves rotoscoping, I'm not surprised if they literally took Ip Man scenes for rotoscoping. (Of course it's not 1 on 1 as they also always add subtle changes, sometimes unnatural for more impact and cooler looks.)

I may not be correct in any of what I said but I do love martial arts and study some of MAs from teachers and self-taught(mostly) because the aesthetic; style and smooth movement; and I get general informations about what MA(s) I want to know about, this is a cool video of you talking about gojo's fighting style since I never see anyone talking about this.

The main thought behind airbending is the avoidance of resistance, much like the air itself.

    I love when Gojo fights hand-to-hand because personally I think his laser beam moves are very boring

    All I gotta say is read the Jjk manga to see Gojo’s real fighting style against someone he’s fight currently rn

    Another thing to remember is that gojo just has like a whole room for training, by specifically watching movies, so i wouldn't be suprised if he had martial arts movies in there too.

    Lmaooo gojo is a brawler/street fighter lol for people who don’t know he literally uses whatever he sees best to fight that person, street fighting is about adapting and using what your opponent will struggle to deal with Miguel was a range fighter so he brought wing Chun and boxing to the plate.

    Gojos foot work is based off of boxing, boxing requires you to compact your torso, essentially glue your fists to your forehead whenever you aren't punching so your guard is already in place and keep your elbows tucked into your ribs to protect 90% of your centerline lowering your head in line with your center line, leaving only punching straight through your guard to the forehead maybe the nose or hooks around your guard, or maybe also direct hits. Straight shots to the gut where your abs are the strongest but that's what bobbing/weaving and contstant head movement is for. It's its all about playing your opponents' strengths off of your weaknesses and vice versa and say luring an inferior inside fighter to the inside where you the superior inside fighter can demolish him by tricking him into thinking you're an outside fighting who wants to keep him on the outside by feigning attempts at keeping the opponent on the outside working him until he steps exactly where you want him to then hit him with that Mike Tyson jump/90⁰ stance switch/side step with the life changing, career ending liver shot that comes with it. His footwork is based on American boxing he's so fluid, slightly crounched over, and is never off guard he's always in his t stance his footwork and weaving to a t is American boxing. It's also all about constant motion especially constant head movements so whatever or wherever the enemy is aiming at at the time they choose to throw a punch isn't what they'll be hitting when the punch actually arrives at the target location.

    so if Gojo is the strongest then IP man was the strongest and since his style was influenced by Bruce lee that makes him the strongest too

    If you see this… you are absolutely right about Gojo’s fighting style. I won’t spoil but yes Gege does portray that Gojo uses this style. The manga really shows evidence but I will not spoil.
