Ewing was sure as hell up for this one! Amazing first half, and by the end of the third quarter the game was effectively over, with Ewing averaging 10 points, 4 rebounds, and over 1 block a quarter. Granted, Robinson was not at his best, but neither was Ewing when he went seven games with Olajuwon in the 1994 championship series (Pat got knee surgery right after the playoffs) -- and yet people tend to judge his entire career on that series, despite the many times he outplayed Olajuwon, Robinson, Shaq, et al. In any case, this game was an amazing showcase of Ewing's talents. Thanks, MDBBall!!!
NBA on NBC was lethal back in the 90s. Fast forward to 2025 it has confirmed that the NBA is returning to NBC and it’ll definitely be more lethal than ESPN
I don't like the way these NBC commentators disrespect Patrick Ewing. (See "BIAS ADMITTED" statement below.) Exhibit A: At the 11 min, 20 sec mark, just after Ewing drew the foul from Robinson, Mike "the Czar" Fratello throws a fair amount of shade at #33, (paraphrased): "Just when ya' think Ewing's about to fall down or travel (or otherwise blow it)..." WTF, Mike? At this point, he's dominating Robinson! He's energetic, making great decisions, showing an amazing shooting touch, running the court, dunking hard, and giving the Spurs fits with his defense (on the other end of the court, he'd just forced a miss from Avery Johnson)... Exhibit B: The first quarter ends with the NBC commentators noting Starks' 16 points without a word for Ewing's 14 points! The first-quarter synopsis should've been, "Starks and Ewing combine for 30 POINTS in the first quarter against Robinson's Spurs!" BIAS ADMITTED: Ewing is my all-time favorite player, college-NBA (followed immediately by MJ, then Kareem, Hakeem, and a few sentimental favorites -- Kevin Johnson/KJ, "Sir" Barkley, Rodman, Iverson, et al). I like players with guts, and Ewing had that "intestinal fortitude" in spades -- and isn't always credited for how smart a player he was.
THIS is the NBA on NBC
At the same time as this game, Michigan's Fab 5 made a remarkable 19 point comeback against UCLA in the 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament

Ewing got a knee surgery after finals?? I didnt know. I think ewing was better than Robinson.
@@johnersolo7770I think it was after this season.
They stay sleeping on Ewing because of the 94 finals. That Game 7 vs Indy the previous series was IMO his greatest game.
@jamesodonnell3636 Ewing didn’t typically outplay Hakeem, it’s more like the other way around!
Marv Albert- the king of NBC

Charles Smith, Doc Rivers, Charles Oakley, Starks, Ewing, Anthony Mason...great Knicks team. AJ, Sean, The Admiral....CLASSIC SPURS lineup!
Awesome game. Here I go again. This is why I haven’t watched any NBA since the 2014 Spurs run.
It’s been downhill since
Great job of editing and blending the highlights of the game.

MDBball you're the best channel on TH-cam when it comes to old school basketball hands down not up for debate

This was the best team the Knicks had in the Riley era.
Not when they get eliminated by the bulls in 6 games.
@@hectorlopez1069 yes but top down this team was better than the finals 94 team!
Robinson still on his own.

A much better outcome for the Knicks compared to last time San Antonio visited MSG.
Yeah they were manhandled the previous year.
