What you got there after the skip to descent was a feature of the 737 known as the "stick shaker" which basically indicates that the aircraft was stalling. Your speed was very low and you were dropping very quickly... until you punched the throttles in for a bit then pulled back. You dropped from FL270 to FL230 in the matter of seconds, until you turned AP and then it stabilized. In this situation, you could've just pushed the yoke in (nose the airplane down) to gain speed and put some power.
@@johnnytrongaming No sir, it is a real life feature that alerts the pilots that they are stalling. But it is also a MSFS bug since the aircraft didn’t pick up the speed of the aircraft prior to skipping- it just showed up way lower.
So, once you learn the fms then you can use VNAV. This will manage the speed automatically. But, as reference, generally you’ll fly at 250 kts below 10,000. After that you’ll be around 300kts in the climb. Once you get to around 25,000 you’ll switch to Mach hold instead of IAS. You’ll cruise at around .8 Mach. Hope this helps.
They have a checklist in the sim menu that will walk you through the different preflight, take-off, in-flight, etc. controls to start engines and everything else.
The sound at 30:25 is a thing called the Stick shaker it indicates that the aircraft is approaching stall territory and if you were flying a actual Boeing you would feel the yoke vibrating. I am not a pilot I am just an aviation geek.
Trev, my advice is to learn how to put a flight plan into the MCDU (the computer you said was irrelevant lmao), that way you can select a landing runway and an approach procedure. This will allow you to intercept the localizer and glide slope, and autopilot will take you in
Yes, learn this next! This will basically let the plane fly itself and everything, vertically as well. You can go to the N1 limits page will show the references. There should be 3 settings: V1, VREF, V2. V1 is the point where you can stop takeoff, last point though. VREF is when you would pull up! Hope this helps.
Also, the trim always moving is either a glitch or normal. It moves to stabilize the plane. When the plane is leveling off it doesn't use the yoke as much, it uses the trim to completely stay flat. It moves a lot when climbing and leveling to make sure it is stable at all times.
Once you are at cruise altitude, activate vertical speed mode on the autopilot and set 0 fpm. Then you can use sim rate increase as much as you like. No crazy flappy wings and oscillations. Its a known bug in MSFS 2024 at this stage. Have to have 0 fpm though! Also, increase your airspeed when at cruise. Not sure how much??? Roll it up and you will see your airspeed approach "the barbers pole". Striped red line. Thats Velocity Never Exceed (Vne). Just below it is fine!!! Wilo be around mach 0.79 - 0.82>ish. Keep it up Trev!!!! Doing great
Hey Trev, just wanted to let you know that for a fast descend like 2500 fpm, using the speed brakes (lever to the left of the throttle) would help you both decrease your airspeed and increase your descent rate even more
in the middle of the autopilot select LNAV mode that makes the plane follow your flight plan. ONLY WORKS IF THE FLIGHT PLAN IS IN THE AIRCRAFT NOT IN EFB
usually when the weather is good pilots tend to get more time on the flight stick and fly the whole departure out and then put on the ap, just to get some in hand flight time and just some general practice
Cruse speed is usually 270 or 280 knots indicated, which, depending on altitude may be 500 or more miles per hour. Also 250 knots is the speed limit under 10,000 feet.
Once you request your flight plan , once you put in your departure and waypoints etc , you go to the perf and then you go to takeoff and that’s where your V1 , VR and V2 speeds are , I usually set 10 flaps on the 787 and then it usually automatically puts the V speeds in the turn you make then active by clicking on the right hand side button to bring them across into the position
To get approach mode to work you need to tune in to the ILS frequency for your destination airport on NAV1... by default it isn't set to capture the localizer but it has the correct localizer frequency on standby. Also need to reduce FL level knob to 0 otherwise it won't let you remove ALT mode. From my experience with the vision jet anyway.
That was really really good. You did well Trev. You just landed a Boeing 737!!!! it’s actually amazing when you think about it isn’t it! I enjoyed that one and I’m so pleased it didn’t crash at the end!!!! ❤
Im still grinding, but not having VIP missions show up to fly with my shiny vision jet is painful. Not sure why they are not showing up even though i have the certs etc.
SF to LA is always by the time you get altitude you start your descent lol. So yea that skip didn't do much. It's a 52 min flight IRL. Love the series, don't stop it!
The captain trim is actually called rhe speed trim system it automatically adjusts the stalizer ( that us in the back of the tail) so its normal it spin that fast
To expand on the autopilot modes, when in level change, the airplane will climb or descend at whatever rate it takes to maintain the selected speed. As a reference, the maximum speed below 10,000 feet is 250 knots. So after takeoff, bug up to 250, after that, you can accelerate up to 340 which is the maximum. And then same thing during descent... Once you hit 10,00p, adjust the speed to 250 and the airplane will slow the rate of descent to maintain that speed. Obviously the opportunities to learn is endless in flight simulator. It's a firehose of info. Hit me up if you have questions! I fly the real thing at work. Happy to share the knowledge :)
You flying the Orlando Magic in that thing? Btw, that was a stick shaker which is a stall warning. Pilots are trained to put the nose down and increase throttle anytime a stick shaker starts.
Hi! Using the autopilot on an approach in the 737 is a bit demanding in MSFS 2024. First you have to set the ILS frequency for the approach (you can see it in the top box of the navigation chart in the EFB) then you have to load the course (the final course of approach) and adjust it with the course knob, finally you have to put it in approach mode with the knob which is set by default to map mode.
So, with the 737, When you Descend, and you're coming up to the candy cane. And overspeed and you want to decrease your speed while still going down, Use speed break. To lower your speed. It's located to the left of the throttles.
On descending if you are going to fast deploy half speed brakes (lever to the left of the throttles) and that will slow you down whilst at a high descent rate.
To find out your rotate speed you can go to the tablet on the plane and finde were you can see all of you flight thing like fuel and stuff. then you can press on sync, then calculate
Love all of your videos! Series suggestion: Subnautica Below Zero as the game is out of early access now and has changed lots. No worries if not, have fun gaming 😀
So it’s a flight from SFO to LAX, current time is 0914 Local time and its arrival time into LAX is 2114 local time… a 12hr flight between SFO and LAX 😂😂😂
The stick was shacking at the end because you landed way too slow this plan should land at about 140 knots then it will be easier to butter the lander and don’t have to worry about stalling
The 737 is bugged when you skip cruise and almost always puts you into a stall. The loud shaking stick is literally called “stick shaker” and is to alert the pilot that you are stalling or a stall is imminent.

Very interesting! I tried the bigger planes last night and noticed the “shaking” and thought it was a bug at first.

3:00 “I watched a 20 minute TH-cam video” I’m sure it will be a safe flight then with no issues at all 😶

30:26 I think that’s the stick shaker of the Boeing 737 I could be wrong on this one
Absolutely right. Another bug with MSFS24 since it apparently didn't pick up the A/C speed from the configuration that it was in before the skip.
The vibration noise is the stick shaker. It's a stall warning in Boeing where the yoke shakes to alert the pilot as well as audible stall warnings.
Pilot Trev the goat!

Brilliantly well done with this video 😁💪

In the 737 if you look up over the front window there is a HUD (heads up display) you can fold down
What that does trev is that keeps the plane in a straight and level it keeps the yokeclimb or descend at an easier for the pilots
2:28 makes me so happy that this is my home airport!
You can lose speed while descending by using the speed brakes. It’s the lever left to your throttle
Lights!!! Dont forget them!
