What are the Most Beautiful Cities in the World? This is a question that keeps a lot of us up at night. I mean honestly who has forgotten to do their taxes because they are totally consumed with that age old question, where can I find the most beautiful city on the planet. Well, today I am going to help you out. We are looking at what 2000 travel professionals from around the world think are the most visually stunning cities to visit.
These travel professionals from around the globe that include travel agents, cruise directors, Travel bloggers, Travel Vloggers, and travel photographers. This is their opinion. When you want to leave a comment and say this list is biased, you are correct, it is. Opinions are biased. That is sort of the idea. You might as well say the list is made by humans, we are all biased about everything.
I’m going to give you the cities, how many people visit every year and some things you need to see. The world is some what getting back to normal and it is time to travel.

I thought Vienna and Prague were two of the most beautiful cities I've ever been too, although they may be considered smaller cities.
I got to visit Prague just a few months after the wall came down, and before everything got westernized and commercialized. It was so so beautiful !!! Also loved Vienna !!! You've got good taste. 😘
Budapest is great too. Generally lots of the old Austro Hungarian empire cities are beautiful. For instance Ljubljana, Novi Sad/ Subotica , Lviv or Krakow

I am in Vienna right now, thought it's on the list. Too bad, because Vienna is sooo beautiful! The architecture, the rich history, classical music culture and beautiful coffee houses! I ❤ Vienna!!! And I shall return😊

Vancouver belongs on this list. New York City doesn’t. Paris doesn’t as well.

I live in Lisbon and I must say this is an incredible city that it is unlike any other. The unique architecture and the overseas influence South American and African cultures have in the city life makes it one of the most interesting cities in the World right now.
It is a shame I will emigrate in less than a year due to the economic struggles Portugal faces (especially when the crisis comes in some months)
Truth....I went to Lisbon on a whim a few years ago and was blown away! It's unique, magical, the people are all shades; I fell in LOVE with it!
Also the weather I heard is unlike Europe.
I visited Lisbon in 2017 and was shocked by how much I loved it. The people are engaging, sweet and kind. The place has such beauty and enchantment. I want to go back so much.

Rio de Janeiro, Cartagena Colombia, Tallinn Estonia, Annecy France are so beautiful. Paris is beautiful that I agree with on this list (haven’t been to Cape Town or Singapore though.)

Go to Victoria went there 10 years ago loved it! Took the Clipper ferry from Seattle to get there.
San Francisco, Mexico City, Haifa, Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Madrid....the world sparkles....
I'm not sure about one o two in the list, but I'd like to add: Dubrovnik (Croatia), Brugge (Belgium), Prague (Czech Republic), Warsaw or Cracovia in Poland, Marrakech in Morocco
Brugge is a nice city. I only visited Salzburg but regretted not getting to Vienna.

I was in Paris 5 days ago. I walked around for 3 days, plus a lot of metro. My first thought was how clean and spotless the city was!!! Not dirty at all!! I agree Paris is probably the most beautiful city in the world!!! I was also in Rome, that city was very dirty!!
Um, try again, no one thinks Paris is clean and he even said it TWICE, been to Rome, yes some bad spots as any major Capitol but your assessment is no where near accurate

Paris would be great if it had more green space. Same dirty colour buildings in normally grey cloudy weather doesn’t look beautiful to me. Give me a pure white townhouse surrounded with cherry blossoms , huge green communal gardens and a nice small park in front of it(London)
Cities that could have been on the list in my opinion are Rome, Edinburgh, Stockholm, Vienna, Istanbul, Florens

Been to most of these and agree with most, especially Lisbon, Singapore, Amsterdam, Venice, Capetown, but sorry I don't think London, Paris or New York are that beautiful, popular and famous yes, but beautiful no, though not ugly, and I would rank Paris top among those 3. Other cities not mentioned but very beautiful are Prague, Bruges, Cartagena (Colombia), Edinburgh, Florence, St. Petersburg, Budapest, Dubrovnik, Ljubljana, Quebec City, San Miguel de Allende, Seville, Tallinn, and Valletta
I've been to about half of your other cities list so from those the others must be amazing. Nobody else has mentioned Florence yet great choice.

@@36flamingo63 No, Rome isn't as pretty as Florence or Venice. Like Paris, New York and London its not ugly, has some pretty areas but the overall aestetics isn't beauty

Sure can be a bit dirty but otherwise amazing and an incredible lot of unique things to do and see. PS. Thanks for naming Valletta (that was unexpected :) )... Also Istanbul should be on your list ;)
@@TheMaltamonument I love Paris, and yes pretty areas, but trouble with large cities is overall aesthetics get lost with size, smaller cities being better able to encapsulate a certain charm and beauty. Same goes for Istanbul, and I love Istanbul too, but big cities its more about the overall vibe, sights, culture and cuisine. For France though, if I had to pick the prettiest city it would be Annecy. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder! And happy travels anywhere you go!

I was in Paris, London, Lisbon, Amsterdam (but for me Rotterdam is better) and New York. They are really beautiful cities.
Prague is also a beautiful city and deserve a place in the top 10.
I have always wanted to go too Venice, Italy 🇮🇹. Those gondolas look like fun while being taken around Venice!
Bring a lot of money. Gondolas are not cheap! You'll do it once, check it off the bucket list, and likely never do it again!

Love Portugal! Lisbon is a beautiful city.
A city is so much more than its buildings. London may not have the ubiquitous exquisite architecture of a Prague or a Paris but its Royal Parks are out of this World and jaw droppingly gorgeous and contribute hugely to the enjoyment of the city for both residents and visitors. Personally I think Stockholm is one of the World’s most underrated cities. Sweden was a super power back in the 17th century and it shows in the legacy of its glorious architecture plus its access to water and the great outdoors is second to none (only drawback is that, glorious as its summer is, it is short and winter is very long and dark) . Go anytime from May to August and revel in its brilliant light and long long days.
London (and so many other European cities) really rewards you if you walk around. Even if you only walk along the river.
I don’t see how Royal parks are any different than regular large city parks…
@@geoffreyschuchardt5350 they were laid out by royalty centuries ago who had the funding and the power to acquire vast tracts of prime land for their personal leisure (riding, hunting, falconry etc). George II queen, Caroline of Ansbach, was gifted what is now Hyde Park in the early 18th century and he had it designed to be reminiscent of her homeland. Royal Parks are large and extravagantly designed and you will struggle to find a large World city that has so much space and beauty given over to leisure in their prime real estate central zone. The combined area of Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, St James’s Park, Green Park and Regents Park are London’s glory.

I've been to Amsterdam, Barcelona, Vancouver, Venice, London, NYC, and Paris. All beautiful, but like others, I would have expected Prague and Rome to be on the list. Vienna, Innsbruck, Salzburg, and Heidelburg are gorgeous, too.
Agree with you on every city except for Rome, it's horrendous and dirty.

I would never have NYC or London listed as beautiful. They are big cities with a lot to do, but not beautiful. Cape Town is the most beautiful city I have been to on this list. I would also put Bruges, Belgium on the list.

Venice was one of my favorite places that I went to while studying abroad in Italy. It was especially neat to see because the Biennale was in town.
I've been to Amsterdam, it's amazing. The canals are so cool, and the food is amazing!!!! Oh and the smart shops ya go to them. But the flight from west coast is LONG. Spent two weeks there in 2019 highly recommended. Also the train system is great, you can get to alot of Europe just on the train from there.
Amsterdam is much more beautiful than Paris.
Istanbul is by far the most beautiful I have ever visited,also Lugano in Switzerland

I was expecting to see Stockholm on this list; clean, canals and water everywhere and amazing light that you can get at these northern latitudes.
Wow! I’ve been to 9 of these countries (missing Cape Town). I feel accomplished. But I will admit, I went to 6 of those cities this summer during a long 17 countries, 24 cities European adventure running away from US craziness looking for a plan b. Rumor is, Lisbon is a good place to relocate to.
When people ask me which country was the prettiest, I respond, I’m not sure about pretty but I was in aww (I can’t believe I’m here) with Berlin, Normandy, Paris and Rome.
I've been to several of these cities and have heard good things about the others. I too wondered how far Rio de Janeiro and Sydney were off the bottom of the list. They're pretty and they know it (like most of the towns on the list), but they're still pretty. I adore Montréal...

My Filipino fiance went to Singapore 3 years ago and it's awesome. The place is home to the famous Jewel indoor waterfall and Garden By The Bay.

A couple I would have thrown on the list for their physical beauty would be Rio De Janeiro & Sydney.
Lisbon is very beautiful. I only got to spend a morning there waiting for a flight, but walking around the city for a few hours was pretty amazing.
Have you ever visited Indian cities of Jaisalmer, Udaipur etc..... You will be spell bound if you approach Jaisalmer in a Helicopter. My first visit to the city was by a Helicopter from Jodhpur.... Unforgettable experience... You will feel like entering a medieval town.....
Pre-Vietnam War Saigon was my father's favorite city and he had traveled widely. Watching the war on TV made him very sad, since he knew all that beauty was lost.

City is beautiful, but the people's attitudes not much, and is quite dirty on certain time of the day.
Switzerland has such beautiful cities from what I have seen I guess it is just not on this list because not many people are aware of how beautiful the country is
The problem is that the whole Switzerland is not very big, but every tiny part of it is beautiful. It could be considered as one city comparable to New York :D
I live in Vancouver, it is a beautiful city. Unfortunately it is becoming too expensive for most locals but nothing beats a place where you can go for hiking, river fishing, ocean diving and skiing ⛷️ all in the same location. I haven’t travelled a lot but I am glad my city made it to the list.

Barcelona is my favorite city of all. It has a little bit of everything-beaches, mountains, old town, old & modern architecture, food & drink, young & old people, diversity, tons of things to do. Reminds me of a European Los Angeles. I love it.

Interesting & fun video, but very much an English / Western bias, that said I have been to almost all of these cities and they are great. I think that Kyoto, Victoria BC, Krakow, Budapest, Vienna, Istanbul, Buenos Aries, Prague are worthy of this list. Some day I would love to see St. Petersberg too, but you know...

Haven’t been to Krakow yet, but definitely appreciate its potential to be recognized among the most beautiful cities (have been to Warsaw on business a few times and want to return for pleasure.
There are a few others I haven’t been to yet that I think also have potential, such as Quebec.

Kyoto Japan is probably the most beautiful city I've been to. It is a cross between a modern city and also feeling and looking ancient too.
This list is a little too mainstream and mostly lists all of the big tourist cities that have enormous populations.
Yes absolutely, its more of a list of "most iconic tourist destinations" rather than cities of pure beauty. In my opinion only a fool would argue that London or New York are more beautiul than cities like Florence or Toledo.
Leave it to the mainstream. Don't let people with "bucket lists" come to the real beautiful cities only because some influencer posted it on Instagram or youtube. They will destroy it.
@@ageoflove1980 i live in nyc for over 23 years. Regardless of how much I hate this city, I must say nyc is truly different from any other cities on the list, not because of its beauty tho. It’s just different. Anyhow, I will move out next year. Not gonna miss this city, but I will come back to visit and see my family here.
@@InvincibleAkuma Cool! Ive been to NYC last may for 10 days, just visiting. Its indeed a very special place and it sure has its beauty here and there. Especially the art deco at Rockefeller Centre, the various gothic architecture and the beaux art buildings stand out. A city with beautiful things however is something else, at least for me, than a beautiful city. I wasnt criticising NYC, although I could probably never live there. As a Dutchy, I could probably never get used to the insane gaps in wealth, feeling both uncomforatble in the most posh and the most deprived areas. But it is certainly unique!
Kyoto is pretty underwhelming as a historical city when you compare it to famous European medieval cities. Random modern buildings among historical streets really destroys the uniformity, and that's why Kyoto has a really awful look when you oversee the city from above. I will admit that Kyoto has its own charm and lots of things to do, but in terms of beauty? No it's definitely not on the same level as cities like Florence or Edinburgh.
No Rio de Janeiro; absolutely nuts. I’ve been to 9 of 10 on your list. All very beautiful, but Rio is absolutely the most beautiful city I have ever been to.

I think this is a great video Briggs. So much for the travel professionals. I'm just thinking they're going on the numbers that travel there. But when you're talking about beautiful cities you can easily kick New York City and London off this list have no idea how they think that Florence Italy does not deserve to be on this list. Also San Francisco is everybody's favorite City. But maybe what the leadership has done to the city in the last few years has booted them off the list. Anyway I would easily trade San Francisco for New York and Florence for London
Rio and Sydney should be on this list.
7/10. Have not been to Singapore, Vancouver or Lisbon yet. I would strongly exhort people to visit Buenos Aires in Argentina. Utterly gorgeous and superb for opera, theatre and the arts.

You almost need to split these into Historic (the sites) or Modern/ Mixed. My time in the Navy allowed me to see many the were 'port cities' (Travel very far from the ship was frowned upon) Boy did I miss some other Fantastic sites.
BTW I would add Ottawa to your list.
Trouble is there are places that are both ancient and modern. London for instance has skyscrapers being built next to the Tower of London and near St Paul’s Cathedral. And there’s a really odd mix in places as a legacy of the Blitz.

That is the 25 de Abril Bridge, a suspension bridge connecting the city of Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, to the municipality of Almada on the left bank of the Tagus river.

I loved living in London. And loved being able to catch a train to Paris. And Brussels. And Bath, Edinburgh, Cambridge, Oxford, etc.

I might go a little left-field and recommend Edinburgh! It's a very beautiful city with lots of history, nature, culture, and things to do and definitely deserves to be on this list.

I haven’t been everywhere, but I agree that Paris deserves #1. I visited 3 times before the pandemic and was planning to go again in 2020 but that didn’t work out. In my opinion, France is a beautiful country overall.

I was in Quebec and Montreal a month ago. Quebec is so European looking Montreal does too! Quebec and Montreal are so beautiful in their own way. Vancouver is a beautiful Canadian city too with the Pacific ocean,and mountains around it.

Thanks to Gaudi's architecture, I agree about Barcelona. I love Venice and Paris, but I was surprised to see New York and London on the list... they are interesting cities, but definitely not beautiful. I would take Rio de Janeiro and San Francisco over New York and London when it comes to eye candy.

I've heard that Almaty City in Kazakhstan 🇰🇿 is Very Beautiful, much like in Vancouver there is alot of Skiing there too, infact the Largest Ice Skating Station, Medeu was in Almaty, there is even Castle near the River in Forests, yeah it's a Skiing Paradise as well, oh I've heard that it's super European despite being located Geographically in Asia 🌏, oh there are also So Many Ethnicities and Nationalities as well, just like in Canada 🇨🇦.

If you're going to the trouble to be in Vancouver, catch the ferry and go to Victoria instead. It's 10X better!

It's all what one likes, I think one of the most beautiful city in the world is Vienna great architecture all those great concert halls that I would like to visit one day.

I would not put NY in the same sentence of Beautiful. Prague, San Francisco and Rio de Janeiro should be in the list. Kiev is wonderful. What you consider beauty? I would say nice architecture, history, parks and trees, nice landscape, mountains in the back, lakes, rivers, bridges.
Ive been to all the cities mentioned. I agree with most on the list. I live in Paris and this past summer was horrible. It was tourist revenge. It was so crowded and noisy and the heatwaves didn’t help. I known tourism is important for the economy, but last summer was the worst ever in the 15 years I’ve lived here.

Victoria, British Columbia definitely belongs on this list. I have also really liked Stockholm, Oslo, and Osaka.

Cape Town was a beautiful city to visit, but has become quite dangerous (I have been there many times and have friends who live there). Like Paris, their golden age is finished because of social unrest.

I have been to each of these cities, and agree with most of the assessments. I go with you, though, that New York, while fascinating, is far from beautiful. DC is far more pleasing to the eye. In Spain, I think Valencia is more beautiful than Barcelona, and I'd replace Venice with Vienna. I went to school in Cape Town. Beautiful, not so much. Try either Brisbane or Auckland.
I live in Brisbane. It was always great until recent population boom and housing crisis. Singapore is nice but I wouldn't say it's in top 10 most beautiful. And the humidity is crippling. Lisbon is nice but not sure about top 10. Same with Venice. Venice is ruined by the amount of people. Amsterdam is lovely, except for the red light district & coffee shops!

Personally, I don’t see anywhere topping Amsterdam. Been there several times. There is something about the atmosphere... from the canals, the architecture, the tulip fields, the windmills... absolutely breathtaking!

2 Canadian cities that I would include, Montreal and Quebec city. They're overlooked all the time, but they are very beautiful.
Well they're certainly more beautiful than Vancouver, which has natural beauty, but the city itself is a collection of dreadful looking condo buildings crammed into a small area. The downtown is a scary place full of drug addicts and people walking around looking like zombies!!

It is.... I'm from SA and Cape Town is the crime capital of SA. Only thing going for it is the neighbourhoods around it. The city itself is extremely unsafe to walk around.. Ask me... I've been mugged twice there.

I have been to most of these places (except Capetown and the Iberian peninsula), and I must say that Prague belongs on the list! It is the only major European city that was never bombed in ww2 (besides cities in Spain or Portugal).
