@@DrewFixIt SupaSwift also. I have a battered old one from the 80s with a vertical pull Briggs with the exposed spinning grill and it cuts cleaner than a Victa. Ironically it takes Victa or Rover blades.
What a score, I have the same engine but on a victa alloy deck, I can only start it with carby clean. New carby, primer base, spark plug. What did you sell it for? Brisbane this would go between 200-300
Another great find Drew....Looks like the Rover has been lightly used...Heaps of tread on the tyres and overall condition....What year is it..looks like an alloy deck?Have always loved that Rover Red colour.....They couldnt start it and just put it to the kerb...What a waste,,,Then they probably went to Bunnings and bought some chinese rubbish....That mower has years worth of mowing left.
Hi Gary, I honestly don't know what year it is, however it really is a beauty and you are probably correct they have probably replaced it with some Chinese made piece of crap!! Cheers Drew
@@DrewFixIt You didnt even have to take the carby bowl off and clean the jet and float etc.The battery was still in good nick so looks like they put it on the kerb when it didnt start.....a simple repair and some fault finding and its back to life and those blades look nearly brand new.....Is it an alloy deck? Did you have a look if its got a metal info tag?
@@DrewFixIt I gave my mates Rover 4 stroke a service a few years back and I amsure I saw a metal info tag near the engine block with place of manufacture and model number.....Also some of the older mowers had that info pressed into the cowling......With that detailing and tag it really came up a treat..welldone.
You did well to see it as it wasn't up for long! I need to find me some more Rovers I had no idea how popular it would be, as there was literally a line up of people trying to buy it! Cheers Drew
@@DrewFixIt the alloy deck rovers are great machines with a beautiful cut quality. I use the same mower non powerstart on a few lawns and it’s beautiful plus it’s got a ton more height adjustments over my Honda 19s. The pro cut 50 non self propelled is the best large pushie you can buy imo the cut and mulching quality is exceptional.
@@DrewFixIt Not sure. Would you like to borrow any for your channel? I'm very close to you suburb wise. I have a like new Rover Pro Cut 50, the previous shape circa 2017, an old reliable Victa 80 series super 600, a few Honda 19 inch models, older type with plastic catch not the half chute fabric ones etc.
@@chisel83 you may have realised that I do like a cold start! Perhaps I could come over some day and we could cold start a few of your mowers for the channel? Cheers Drew
heres a tip. dont use wd40. it works great but it doesnt last and it makes dirt stick. instead buy clear spray paint (i like squirts) and paint everything except the muffler (it goes yellow when it gets hot). paint the deck, engine, wheels, catcher, push handle, engine covers.... everything except the muffler
Nice one mate. Nice seeing a Rover being done! Love my Rovers.
Thanks Mate, this one certainly came up a treat! Cheers Drew
Nice
Thanks Mate!! Cheers Drew
Came up a treat. Lucky new owner.
Hi James, it didn’t hang around long either!! Maybe I should get in the hunt for some Rovers? Cheers Drew

Drew got the grand kids planting mowers around SA now

you also didnt talk about where the oil went
Hi Mate, I assume that you are talking about the waste oil I drained? I put that into a container to go to the recycling depot! Cheers Drew
@@DrewFixIt why was it low I mean. Is it burning oil or is the crank seal leaking?

Wow great find, maybe I'm not looking hard enough, I never seen free mowers in my area.
