Your most important credo is always with me, when I paint, Lisa: "You haven't ruined anything, you are just not done." Thanks for creating this channel! ❤🙏❤
You are an ingenious artist. Your expertise with many media, technology, and high level drawing and painting skills are wonderful. Your hilarious sense of humor and great choice of music only make the videos more enjoyable and encouraging. Thank you and God bless you, Lisa. And the advice to work thru mistakes to learn and move forward is excellent.
LOL Back when I had a cat like 25 years ago was the exact reason I got the palette thing I use now because it has a lid. The cat kept walking through the paint! lol
@@Lachri Oh my! But what cute paw prints! Hermione hasn’t tried walking on my paints, but I had to lid my watercolor water. She will drink anything. 😖🤢
Painting came out beautiful. I am glad you explained your thinking process and showed that you can still save your painting. I probably would had thought there's no way I can fix it. Thank you Lisa ❤
WOW.. that transformation is so gorgeous. I love it more now than before and I thought it was fine before. You took it to a whole new level with that change. I personally would not have known how to correct the painting and just settled instead of risk ruining the painting. Great video to help us push past the comfort zone.
Thanks for the inspiration - not just for the actual art (which is stunning as always!) but to make your creative space somewhere you want to be! I need to have a good sort out and tidy in my art corner - I dream of having whole room!
So, of course I'm a huge fan and I was telling my mother about you and how you have the entire world in your home. Air; the birds, sea; the fish, and land; frogs and dogs. She's a quilter and is critical of her work and I'm a fine art artist (nowhere near as good as you) and I'm critical of my work so all artists are harder on themselves than others are.
You have two dogs, a bearded dragon, a bird, an aquarium, and a frog? And you have your own business. I’m exhausted just thinking about all that work! You are superwoman! 😊❤ Oh, and this painting and the style of this video are awesome.
Lisa, this turned out beautifully. I really appreciate that you shared your honest thoughts about the painting and walked us through the process of how you worked through it to make it amazing for you. I admire you for sticking with it. I thought the first attempt was beautiful but I know how it is when something just isn't sitting right for you. Your office and your studio are such creative and inspiring spaces!
Absolutely love this! Your personality just shined throughout! I loved your honesty of struggles and how you admittedly hated the piece not once but twice and still never gave up on it, is inspirational! The 80s effects and music along with animal clips were highly enjoyed!
Aww thank you! I seriously considered calling it done so many times because I was so sick of it LOL. HAHA Glad you enjoyed my 80's effect. I was giggling so much when I did that.
Okay, I actually "oooooohhhh"ed out loud when you said you were going to add the cuddlefish. Except for an laugh, I never make noises over TH-cam videos.
Lisa, thank you for this video! I've been watching it late evening, with a cuppa and just the small lamp on, so I've been able to see colours and process much more clearly. When you said you were going to put in the cuttlefish, and put up its photo, I immediately said, "Ohhh, you are sooo beautiful!" because it is. They are that weird thing called 'beautifully ugly' (translated from the French, jolie-laid) and that fish was a truly fitting thing for the painting, though I can't explain why. and so were the little damsel fish. I've seen lots of them when snorkelling, but never a cuttlefish, though my husband did on one of his dives. I didn't like your first version, either, Somehow, it was as if they were two separate paintings - both halves perfectly good in their own right, and beautifully executed, but just not 'right' together. But I love the finished version. So many thanks for showing us the way you worked through your feelings as well as your art, and for the very important lesson you put across by doing so! 😊
Yes! They totally felt like two separate paintings! It just did not work together at all! That's so cool you've gotten to see the damsels while snorkeling. After seeing how they treat other fish in aquariums I think I would be more afraid to swim with them than a shark! LOL
@@Lachri HI! These damsels aren't snappy in their own environment of the coral reef. I think it's because there's enough space for each to have its own space? I have been 'nipped' by a Picasso triggerfish though. It only happened once, so I think he was having a bad day. (Picasso triggerfish are my favourite of all the reef fish, I think, closely followed by parrotfish with their iridescent colouring, and the sergeant major damselfish in their blue and yellow stripes!),. He'd been tapping on my mask - a lot of fish come and do that to take a look and say "Hello" before going back to graze peacefully, but this little chappie must have been in a bad mood, because the next thing I knew was a nip on my ankle, and there he was, waiting for me to move. The nip didn't cause any problems, and was only like a pin prick, but I decided I'd respect his space and his bad mood, and moved along a little bit. 😄
Such a cool painting! I actually encountered a cuttlefish while snorkeling once. The way they move is NUTS. Like he was right in front of me, and then he was just... ten feet away, completely still. They're SO FAST and they can stop on a dime. Completely random but that's the memory that came back while I was watching this. lol
@@Lachri It was amazing! We snorkeled A LOT while we lived overseas, but only ever encountered a cuttlefish once. They're pretty shy. Glad I got to see one, though!
I'm using an older one from artograph. They don't make this particular model anymore but Blick.com does have another artograph one that looks very similar. The reviews are kinda not great on it, but the complaints look similar to the complaints I saw people make on my version and I've not had any issues (besides needing them to replace the remote control). The only real challenge was learning how to use it and adjust it as there wasn't much info available there. The projector itself has been awesome though.
Have you turned any of your paintings into Diamond Paintings before? Have you ever painted a Chihuahua before? I've been looking for some to immortalize my first Service Dog Sarah. She was a Fawn & Sable with the most luminous chocolate eyes ever. She was amazing! I think you would love the photo I have of her. I'm looking for something smallish and closeup. And thinking of having a Diamond Painting made from it too.....
Fresh or saltwater? I don't know anything about freshwater, those always look so innocent to me lol. I know some of the saltwater angels can be quite nasty too! Maybe not as bad as these striped damsels though lol.
@@Lachri When we had tropical fish, they were all fresh water, but we did have (tried to have) some striped angels and they bullied everyone. Even fish twice their size. Ate my tetras, and I had to get rid of them. I had pink kissing gouramis and I found out why they had bites taken out of them. I think whoever name them Angel fish did so in jest and had a mean streak. Lol
One question: of i suscribe and pay the corresponding in Patreon or your personal Site, could i download the videos in my Smartphone so that i can watch it at any time?... Or mist i be suscribed and pay month after month to watch the videos?... Thanks in advance for your answer...
Good question! No, these are not downloadable. You have access to these videos and all my new ones only for as long as you're a member. If I sold them to be downloadable you would be looking more at around $25/per video vs $6/month to view all of them. :)
Don't forget this week's Art Livestream, every Wednesday at 8pm CT!
Do you have a recommendation for an airbrush compressor? I’ve been away from art for 35 yrs and just got an airbrush. Thx
Gorgeous as always, and a lesson that's not just applicable to art but also to life: 90% of success in ANYTHING is recovery from error.
Thank you :D

Love love love the painting! And of course sweet Tuna! My lil Quaker parrot enjoys watching me paint. My cat, not so much. She tries to distract me!

Amazing the difference the glazing makes. I guess you have to know your paints to know which ones are transparent enough to use for that?
