A brand new song for UK General Election year 2024. Music: Sir Arthur Sullivan Lyrics: Dillie Keane This song contains profane language. Tickets and more info: www.fascinatingaida.co.uk
Tragically hilarious - because, tragically, true! Let's hope all will be flushed with success by the next general election. Resound, resound, resound yet again, Great Gurgle!
Never have I seen a more descriptive image of a 21st century politician Every one has his/her snouts in the trough and most have their two front feet in as well 😒😒😒
One of my favourite songs in your 40th Anniversary tour, together with AI. What brilliant song writers and performers you are. Looking forward to seeing you all again later in your tour. 👏👏👏
I rank this with the very best of Randy Rainbow's show songs on Trump and the GOP loons like Margerie Taylor Green. Excellent and now being shared with my contacts.
I was at the Palace Theatre last night to see Fascinating Aïda. One of their "observations" was about how many words there are in English for drunkenness but only one for a very particular type of problem. Namely Brexit. Brought the house down as did another about how the likes of Gove, Fabricant, Braverman and Jenrick (Newark's own MP) ever get elected in the first place. Lifted my spirits.
I love the song as I have loved almost everything I've heard from the, British people certainly don't have much to criticize from "the Mongols who ruled from Korea to Georgia." (still made laugh).
Glorious as ever. I'd buy a copy of every dvd you put on your site (27 hours flying is to much even for these glorious people). But bloody hell, make some money, why don't you. And let me see it all, properly produced and paid for, without stitching together dozens of youtube bits. Love it, of course - I just want more and to pay for it properly.
I saw them perform this in Basingstoke last September. If I remember correctly, there was an amusing introduction to this song. If you get the chance to go and see them, do. You won't be disappointed.
Gloriously, tragically, hilariously, horribly true - save only that I'd amend the lyric: for 'a Tory MP' substitute 'any MP'; also work in somwhere: 'Those craven, crepuscular cretins and serpents, that poisonous crew, our top 'civil servants'!
And now he is no longer MP, he clung to his seat as MP, but Labour have won an election in an historical landslide victory and for good reason I just hope that Labour can turn this country round, we bloody need it!
And how. Thank you. ♥️♥️♥️ [meanwhile, sizable minorities still indicating support for the crud you're calling out. I admire and love you all for doing what I should be doing but fail.]
Afro Latin Gay American here, with adoptive parentage that is first and second generation US Irish Catholic. I came into a love of F/A thanks to social media, and I'm happy to say I haven't looked back. But whether it's the majority demographic here in the States, or the descendants and simultaneous beneficiaries of colonizers of the empire across the pond, I love how the negative and disparaging comments here all seem to point out the same thing: namely, that White fragility is still alive and well. I think the group wrote a song about this also? And, since that is the case, all of you angry melanin-absent Tory/Conservative pundits should be grateful that you've been written about 😁😁😁. That all being said, Ladies, keep up the great, and, indeed, poignant, pertinent, work!
Absolutely hilarious, but I think think its unfair to label just the Tories MP's even if they are the biggest offenders, the likes Ken Livingstone, George Galloway, Tony Blair, Gordon Brown, Paddy Ashdown, Cyril Smith, Nicola Sturgeon, Shirley Williams to name but a few! Before you ask not a Tory, I find elections hard because I don't trust anyone that wants to be a politician, yes most go into with the best of intentions but virtual all are corrupted by the power in someway shape or form.
To be fair, the Labour Party need a similar song. The first lines might start “Beer and curry and racist hypocrisy. Denying reality and supporting skullduggery. Siding with convicts who commit unmentionable atrocity etc.”.
what's the problem with having a laugh and a bit of truth telling at the same time. after all its not there first foray into politics is it. remember SO SORRY SOCTLAND that was hilarious
@@paulkyffin I'm entitled to my opinion and yes of course I remember their other political stuff. It's fine, you can all enjoy it together. I don't think they will gain any fans or subs from the political stuff and will probably lose quite a few including me.
Used to like them (Fascinating Aida) but no longer. When specific subjective political views -- and disparaging comments or lyrics of specific individuals become the draw, I'm out. We don't need more crowd mentality encouraged by narrow subjectivity.
An absolutely masterpiece. One of your best ever. Gilbert and Sullivan would applaud you.
Tragically hilarious - because, tragically, true! Let's hope all will be flushed with success by the next general election. Resound, resound, resound yet again, Great Gurgle!
Absolutely brilliant. 👏👏👏
Can’t wait to see Fascinating Aida live again. If you’ve never seen them in concert you don’t know what you’re missing.
Legends, to see them is to love them!
Never have I seen a more descriptive image of a 21st century politician Every one has his/her snouts in the trough and most have their two front feet in as well 😒😒😒
A QUOTE FROM BLACKADDER
Congratulations to these Ladies, they have summed up beautifully what Tory MPs are. Fantastic work ladies and I fully support it 😂😂😂😂
This is glorious! If I didn't love you all beforehand I'd be a fan, instantly, from just listening to this!

I am pleased to say: I saw them yesterday and they sung this indeed 😊
Absolutely brilliant ladies. And!!! 100% TRUE

Humorous parody of a great song and chorus from "Patience" by G&S - well done!
Sheer genius! - it's a pity I can only give you one upvote.
Awww! You're too kind to the odious cunkspangles…
One of my favourite songs in your 40th Anniversary tour, together with AI. What brilliant song writers and performers you are. Looking forward to seeing you all again later in your tour. 👏👏👏
Love the new profile picture, love you ladies, many songs have had me dying of laughter, you never fail to disappoint! Keep going, girls! 💙💙💙

Brilliant. Best new G&S parody I've heard for years.
And you can say the same about the Liberals in Australia, National in NZ and the Republicans in the US

I saw them perform this in Basingstoke last September. If I remember correctly, there was an amusing introduction to this song. If you get the chance to go and see them, do. You won't be disappointed.
And here’s me only just recovering from ‘Cheap Flights’ 🤣
It was a great honour of knowing you Michael may you rest in peace.
Love ya, girls, rom Australia!
Absolutely brilliant, such talent.❤
Gloriously, tragically, hilariously, horribly true - save only that I'd amend the lyric: for 'a Tory MP' substitute 'any MP'; also work in somwhere: 'Those craven, crepuscular cretins and serpents, that poisonous crew, our top 'civil servants'!
So many C words! Thankfully they'll be gone by the end of 2024.
Though I think there's one misspelling in the subtitles: a _scene_ which should be a _seen_
Yeah, go girls! Still got it. Thanks.
And now he is no longer MP, he clung to his seat as MP, but Labour have won an election in an historical landslide victory and for good reason
I just hope that Labour can turn this country round, we bloody need it!
That is hilarious
I have long been a fan of these women. Classy piss taking.
And how. Thank you. ♥️♥️♥️

Bring it on Ladies !!!!!!
The spirit of Tom Lehrer is alive and well.

wonderful
All things considered... what's with the holding back???
Do you think the Tories are going down this time around?
Absolutely brilliant 😂😂😂 sooo true
Great.....except that it is just as applicable to TODAY's Labour Party!
Fabulous - now we just need the rest of the material to create a new musical called 'C*ntservative'!
Fantastic 😂 👏
Oh yes.
Oh yes; 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
"This was a political broadcast by The Conservative Party"
Wilson James Martin Brenda Johnson Anna
From someone who was a card carrying communist at Uni herself, has she done any about Socialists ?.....lol Nope.

If allowed to stay in power for long enough.... like for example fourteen years.
Excellent. I await a similar song covering all the despicabilities of Labour MPs 🤣
Maybe it's what's left in the pot after the conservative is born from it.
To be fair, the Labour Party need a similar song. The first lines might start “Beer and curry and racist hypocrisy. Denying reality and supporting skullduggery. Siding with convicts who commit unmentionable atrocity etc.”.
I don't like the Tory politics one bit, but I found this too mean!
shame you have gone political
You only gotta pay attention to the villains they're singing about to hear some tough truths darling
what's the problem with having a laugh and a bit of truth telling at the same time. after all its not there first foray into politics is it. remember SO SORRY SOCTLAND that was hilarious

Erm have you not being paying attention for the last 40 years??
That is a tragically stupid comment@@jabberwockytdi8901

"we don't need narrow subjectivity" - spoiler alert, that means we don't need you! 😊
Great stuff ladies, 😄
