This is why it puckers my butt hole when all people do is compare them to LZ. The sheer talent, music and rock and roll that these guys were/are putting out at such a young age is just not being appreciated. I believe that’s why so many of us “older” folk are such fans, you just haven’t heard these jams, guitar riffs, grittiness since the 60’s and 70’s. I’m a newer fan, but have dove right in and feel like I’ve been a fan forever. Love seeing people react to them for the first time and get blown away like I was!

I think you will really like the “Lover Leaver” version GVF plays Live at Red Rocks from 2019 found on YT. It is one of the greatest 20+ min live jam songs of all time! Ranking up there with Led Zeppelin’s “How Many More Times” from Royal Albert Hall, “Dazed and Confused” Song Remains The Same and “No Quarter” Listen To This Eddie 1977. It is a must listen!

Yeah, that’s what got me into the whole reaction thing all together. As a viewer. This time, as a reactor I have to say it’s pretty cool. I started out with some rap and hip-hop. Deliberately choosing material that I did not like. But then I saw GVF released their new single. I have heard of them. I entered this a bit biased. Zeppelin is sacred ground. But I very quickly fell in love with their undeniable soul and passion for great rock and roll music!! Thanks for following!!

I've been waiting for this one! My second favorite song, behind The Weight Of Dreams, and we still have a whole album to wait for. Jamming is their bread and butter, that's when they shine hard core. I suppose when you've been playing and living in the same house with your band mates all your life, you can play off each other really well. There's a 27 minute version of this on their channel that is OUTSTANDING. The song is often extended live lol

Lover leaver is my go to Greta song when looking for a quick fix. Love all the guitar work although I have to say the bass work in this song is what draws me in.
I totally agree! Sammy is not a lazy bass player. I really love his unique facial expressions and moves during their stage performances. He loves the attention 😄

Grand Funk is from Flint Mi. Closer to Frankenmuth where GFV is from.. Very similar to each other as far as how young they were when they started. Love them also. Best video ever GFR "Inside looking out " live 1969. Great review !!
In a world of shred demon guitars players as broad as the horizon, that solo from 'Inside Looking Out' is the most FACE CONTORTING guitar solo ever!!! Aside from the emotional attachment I have wit that song from my childhood, I end up in tears every time I hear it and/or play (on guitar). Not from emotional weeping. But because my face simply cannot function as normal. It is beyond the stankiest of ALL stank faces. Thank you for your comment!!!
