    And don’t forget, while increasing the carbon tax to save the earth, and denying pipeline projects to protect the environment because less trucks on the road wouldn’t decrease emissions, our brainwave government has once again increased coal exports… it all makes sense.

      as someone who live in Manitoba as well near indigenous communities . there are alot of peeved indigenous and metis . they see the removal of the provincial gas tax for all manitobans as a tax on their community . because they lost their rebate . because every manitoban now pays the same for fuel . and now that everyone paying equally they are peeved . and why the NDP government is trying hard to get the carbon tax removed for the indigenous community because they alienated a large section of their voters who were getting special privilege.

      Just did some quick math on the "what happened", 1970's early 80's was Trudeau Sr. Not that I forgive any government since, but Sr. wracked up so much debt and created so many social programs to make people dependent on the government that following governments had their hands tied and had to keep the status quo to pay the bills, and keep the social programs the voters "wanted". Jr has far exceeded his dad though.

    All defenders of Carbon Tax only ever look at the price of gasoline and ignore all other forms of fuel including home heating. They ignore the HST/GST on the tax, they ignore the second carbon tax that has no rebate, they ignore the rise in price of everything they buy and everything they do. They ignore reality.

      Par for the course of a socialist voter. You can't teach them that someone else is paying for their perks... and that someone else is a worker. Must be nice to live in a land of bliss and ignorance when you get free money coming in every month(and this 'rebate' quarterly).

    • @greatmatt301

      And people who are against the carbon tax ignore the fact that carbon tax increases cost of food/goods by about .30%. You will also ignore the effects on prices due to climate change.
      You probably don't even believe in climate change......

    • @joeisawesome540
      @joeisawesome540 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You are assuming people didn’t look at other cost. You are over estimating the cost of carbon tax on food and other goods. Carbon tax is mostly exempt for farmers. They don’t pay carbon tax on their fuel for farm equipments. According to a third party website, a semi truck can haul 40000 lb of goods, and transporting it over 3000 km use about 4.5 tonnes of CO2. At the current price of 80 per tonne, that’s around 360
      Dollars worth of CO2. So 360/ 40000lb will add less than 1 cents per lb to the goods that’s being carried. Do the math yourself.

      A tax is a tax is a tax… it’s just money for our politicians to grease more palms with, including their own pockets while we struggle to buy food or pay the hydro / propane bill! It has nothing to do with weather or pollution or anything other than wealth redistribution

    • @joeisawesome540
      @joeisawesome540 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@goldenstudiogurlif you are struggling to buy food, carbon tax rebate actually benefits you. The wealthiest people actually pay most of the carbon tax. A private jet flight will cost thousands of carbon tax which is more than 5 years of you driving around in your beat up Toyota. It is never about the poor. It is always about the rich, and how they can get to fly their private jets for the cheap.

      @@TxmoosetimThen 1970 happened, the pegging currencies to the USD was turned into a complete scam by the US ending the Gold Standard, and no government stepped in to start stockpiling gold to re-peg. Instead, FIAT enabled printing money.
      In order to hide the initial spending, the GST money was shifted towards paying for added government spending. Eventually that wasn't enough, so - modifications to the CPI (consumer price index). Then Someone had the bright idea of offshoring value creating jobs - manufacturing - to places where environmental regulations were zero, employee rights were zero, and labour was dirt cheap. This of course allowed prices to remain low but, it meant from that day forward new people entering the work force were given shittier, and shittier opportunities. This lead to higher debt ratio's.

      There is no reason to go across country. Farmers could just not plant a crop, truckers could park their rigs and let the shelves go bare until Trudeau is forced from office and an election called (my preference) and people with the means and ability to Go Galt could simply stay home and grind the economy to a halt.
      There is no reason to think the Cuban Assassin would listen to 2 million people on Parliament Hill anymore than he listened to the truckers. But millions of phone calls every day from people complaining about bare store shelves might have an impact. And what is Trudeau going to do ..... get the RC's to go door to door and FORCE people to work?

Why aren’t the utility companies collecting carbon tax required to disclose how they are submitting the tax collected from customers to the federal government like they do with HST/GST? Where is the carbon tax going?
    This is redistribution of wealth. By the time it is properly investigated most of the “tax” money collected will be long gone lost in the accounting of the budget balancing it’s self. I don’t believe it’s a legal tax. But maybe I’m just po-d

      On a personal note my job places me in homes of people and I see the manipulations happening with the people I deal with, and there are some major ones going on that confuse and divide entire communities on purpose. People who I know are otherwise reasonable and intelligent suddenly become militant about some issues and it's heartbreaking to witness.
