- This is the left hand lift out of the 3 lifts here. Part 3 of the lifts at the Quedam Shopping Centre in Yeovil! The middle lift used to be my favourite out of the 3 lifts here, but now this one is!

Where are these lifts located?
Quedam Shopping Centre, Yeovil. These lifts are located near the main square, opposite Iceland and New Look.
What fixtures/voice do these lifts have?
Buttons: Dewhurst US91-EN (MICRO on the landings)
Indicators: Stentorgate MFCU76-1 with the optional LENS761 3D Lens and side arrows package, and Stentorgate MFLCD57-3H.

I love the growl when the lift starts up.
Very audible on the first floor! I like that too but I like the shaking of the lift when going up from B even more!

These are epic lifts and it is amazing to see them going strong, I love that mod as they’ve kept original motor and features! Doors are clearly very knackered.
Almost everything is original, yes, and I think the new fixtures match the style of this lift. The doors were knackered, but they have been fixed since filming this video.

The "Squeaky" Schindler Door motor....almost as iconic and the whirring 5500 doors, and a sound I've heard many times on my side of the globe!
Overworked too! I'm glad they've fixed this problem with the doors, although I am at the same time a little disappointed as I absolutely LOVED the knackered doors! Incredibly satisfying when they finally close, and then BOOM, bwaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAA!
I need to find a modern Schindler with the amazing whirring door motor and the full English voice, not that you'll want to know, as I know you're absolutely sick of modern Schindlers! I do have a couple of videos of modern KONE's coming though which I hope you will enjoy!

The ‘clanging’ of the door weights is another classic sound!

The Schindler's in this Video remind me of the Former Schindler S Lifts at Newlands in Kettering, as they had Micro Dewhurst, ADO/Classic Leveling and those Schindler Door Motors.
The lifts in Newlands Kettering are of great interest to me. I will visit Kettering at some point to film them.
gotta love that classic brwoooOOOOO motor startup, if i was to answer the "isn't that uplifting?" on the button panel i'd say very yes! Those doors could definitely use some attention, and its nice to see reading other replies that they've had said attention. There's always the "if only the buttons were still original too" part about it, but i remain thankful for what has been kept original
Very audible on this lift compared to other Schindlers of this kind which I've been in, in the past. A really nice sound which I hope continues to fill the stairwell of this shopping centre for many years to come!
They've made an effort with the lifts here - they've added the labels which you refer to, they given the right hand lift a brand new indicator recently, and as you've noticed from reading the comments, they've given the doors on this lift some attention since I filmed this video. I hope these survive for many years to come!
It's a great shame that the buttons aren't original - I wish they hadn't removed them, and I wonder what they used to look like. It would be amazing to see a photo of the original lifts. Always grateful for a bit of originality though!

Fab video Michal. Those doors sound like they could break at any moment as they're rattle a lot. I've not heard a lift do that before but good feature on that one. I'd love to know more about a few lifts at one point.

I find it bizare why on one floor the doors open really fast but on another floor they open really slowly.
It will be something to do with either the landing doors on B or the rear car doors. Something needs adjusting. If the doors are not running perfectly horizontally then there will be extra friction. The door motor is able to give enough power to the doors to open them, but they are slow to open due to excessive friction. This problem has been fixed, so I assume it was an easy fix!

What Shindler Lifts where they originally?
These lifts are still 1980's Schindler lifts! They've just had their buttons and indicators replaced. Which buttons did these have originally - I don't know, I don't have a photo of the original lifts unfortunately.

Is it possible that the door speed is something which can be adjusted?
Strange how it’s different speeds when opening / closing though. You’d expect it to be the same speed as it’s the same mechanism in reverse.

Yay your back! That squeak sound of the doors is like the classic of Kone M Series like, it does the hum instead till it closes, locks in and stops humming, except its alot quicker on those! Im very despite to visit Yeovil now. Did you do Yeovil vids after or before doing Bath since you were nearby? Or was it from your 2020 visit to M&S Yeovil? Also wasnt there a Kone Novel you said there was in Yeovil? If so whens that coming? I do agree, it is very characterful! Also, you might be interested by these lifts

It does remind me of the hum of some KONE doors, yes. I did Yeovil just after visiting Bath, yes. I was in the area so I thought why not visit! You should visit too! KONE Novel in Yeovil? No I'm not aware of one, unless I've forgotten. When did I mention that there was a Novel in Yeovil? That would be nice, but I don't think there are any.

@@MichalM Good! When had you filmed them? Also what about Royal Garden Inn in HSK? The Main lifts I showed the link, see the CP lifts outside bc theyre rather interesting for their different panel layouts and floor numbering, and Zara HSK?
@@Morgansliftadventures I filmed them ages ago. I'm not planning to stay at the Royal Garden Inn so I won't be going in there, and Zara I probably won't film yet as there are other lifts I need to get to first!
