I appreciate you two taking the time on each video to think about the previous info and speculate on the future… glad you’re not rushing through it. I like hearing what you have to say ✌️
You mentioned martial arts. The four bending styles are modeled after real-world martial arts. The animators were made to attend martial arts classes to observe the movements up close and get familiar with the different styles. The animations and fight choreography are very accurate and detailed, and they get better as the show goes on and the characters become more skilled in their respective bending disciplines. Just another detail that makes this show so great! Water - Tai Chi Earth - Hung Gar Fire - Northern Shaolin Air - Baguazhang There is a future character that is modeled on a modified Southern Praying Mantis style.
It's sorta believed that Monk Giyatso killed those firebenders surrounding him by sucking all the air out of the area suffocating all the fires and everyone there including himself trying to protect others using a move like that was kind of outlawed by the airbenders
Young air benders are given the offer to go to the air nomad temples to learn their craft. At that point they shed pretty much everything as they are welcomed into their newv"families". The monks are largely pacifists that will only fight to escape or protect. That's a good thing because air bending is crazy OP-in my opinion.
The different bending styles are based on different martial arts, they had a martial arts expert on whose movements the animations were modeled, and the animators themselves even had to take a few classes to better understand the motions they were drawing. This is an important point about the setting, as paraphrased from one of the show creators: Bending is not a super power or magic spell, it's more like a martial art. The ability to bend is inherited through some mysterious genetic or spiritual process, but one still has to develop the skill through training and discipline. It also requires physical energy and mental will to use.
Helpful tip: your microphone is fine we can hear you guys perfect. But the volume of the video screen capture could use some volume. Viewers really enjoy being able to hear the video more. It's like we're watching it for the first time
Since I love your guys walking dead reactions and love that you guys are watching this show I wonder what walking dead characters would be with that nation? 🤔 Shane for sure would of been a fire bender 😅 and dale a water bender
The Legend of Korra takes place 70 years after ATLA. Korra is the next avatar after Aang. She is a waterbender. It's an excellent show, and I highly recommend reacting to it. 😁

Thank you! 🥰
The tattoos are given to the air bender masters. Aang became a master a very young age.
