- Mya wanted to do a project for Eskasoni school about Mi'kmaq Medicine, her teacher did show this and she won an award. The medicine's, that are in our culture are gathered in different time zones. These were collected for winter months colds and fevers and infections in mind. Mya has passion for her culture it's shows she would be a good teacher some day.. love
Granddad..

Gratitude Mya, Wela'lin to you and your grandfather for sharing the wisdom of the sacred plant medicines.
It is wonderful to learn my traditional medicines, as I have worked as a Healer / Shaker for as long as I can remember, always learning.
I was denied my history and for you to share this wisdom helps me greatly in reclaiming my Ancestry.
I cannot tell you how much this has helped my heart. As Healers we are always learning and working on ourselves, to grow stronger in order to help others..
That was beautiful :)
God bless you, young one. Appreciate your gifts. Not all get to..
What an exceptional. patient and wise grandfather...A real man to look up to!!!
He was my grandad be now he has passed in 2019 and that was his daughter but I loved him so much but things have to happen

So proud of you Mya.
Wela'lin - nice to have found you Mya! Your project is very interesting. :)
Interesting submission Mya. Natural remedies are amazing. I am related somehow, through ancestral connections to Angela Lafford? We might also share an Ancestor? Peace!
xoxo
I would love to see this re-done with a better camera. Really good content and knowledge never to be lost.
aww that video is cute, and informative welallin
There is alot to learn from the natives
We need more of these Joel Denny. More knowledge like this of our culture to pass on within our own people. Tuma Young said that in his video about medicines is that a lot of visitors to his tent were Lnu who distanced themselves from the land.
Walalin. I teach herbalism and will show this to my apprentices. Good job, and thank you so much for sharing Mya.

the people that had it rough were the german and ukrainian familys who came over to farm this land.we lived in caves dug like cellars in the prairie groung the hole at the top coveref with a cattle hide to keep out the cold and snow, estevan west side of town, than in swift current cave dug into the cutbanks of the swift current creek by the fair grounds, again dug into the ground,we lived like rats the gov,t never gave us free homes with running water we had to chop through the ice.or collect snow and melt it,or caves into the banks of the south and north sask rivers our life wasn,t easy ,include the rissian doukaboors into the group, lived like this for 2to 4 yrs before we built mud shoddioes to live in.times werte tough ,no gov,t monet to the hard working farmers who settled the land no handouts like today. so quit complaing we started with nothing to build canada up,now work to help out.
