    To non-Filipino viewers, 'sharksfin' no longer contains actual shark's fin. Nowadays, it's used to define steamed dumplings shaped a certain way rather than what's inside. In rare cases, it has faux sharks fin made from plant-based jelly.
    Shark's fin trade is prohibited in the country.

    Language is dynamic. If it's pronounced gray-ham in the Philippines, then it's fine to pronounce it that way.

    Too bad you didn't cross the other side of P.Noval, there's so much to eat on that side too like 24 chicken, bros, max mango and of course the carinderya there is the best. Missin' españa all of a sudden, it was my 2nd home ❤❤❤

    I have a suggestion for the Paborito series :). Next time you should try or compare food that are in the same category to be fair when choosing your favorite one. Because siomai rice is different from a milkshake. Angkong may be your favorite meal in espanya but lovelite can also be your go to dessert after a meal or after a tiring commute right? So in the next episode it could be “Espanya’s best ____ (dessert/meal/merienda)” or something like that.

      I remember back in the day Siomai Rice was like the Budget meal😂 Rice for P5 and 4pcs of Siomai for P20. So overall the meal was only P25
      Then theres those special kinda big ones depending on the stall/brand thats like P40 for 4pcs Siomai and rice for P10😂 Sharks fin + Rice was like P55 iirc

  • @AdlenDelMundo
    @AdlenDelMundo ปีที่แล้ว +41

    we pinoys pronounced it as grey-ham, same as the canadians.
    in Britain they pronounce graham as "grey am".. Don't let the comments get into you, it is pronounced differently in many places. Some people are just waiting for you to mess up or are trying to find things so they can bash you.. we call em "MEMA" memasabi lng 😁

  • @jansanchez6237
    @jansanchez6237 ปีที่แล้ว +1020

    I've tried Dimsum Treats once, I think it was in 2020 or 2021. Sila lang yung open sa vicinity aside from the usual fastfoods kaya I chose them. I was so hungry that time that I ordered almost everything on their menu.😅 Usually when I'm hungry I'd appreciate the food because if gutom ako, lahat talaga masarap😂 but Dimsum Treats really did disappoint. 😅 It lacked the "bite" that I was looking for in a dimsum. It's too mushy and so obvious that it contains more extenders than meat. Nothing special about it kaya I don't understand the hype.😅 I've been meaning to try Angkong to compare, kaya lang I haven't been back in the area. I think Jessica had already answered my question.
    Sana you could've featured more shops like the fried chicken at the brown gate in P. Noval, sizzlings, silogs, other lutong bahay...

    2. Hapag
    3. The Pit
    4. Chowpoint
    5. Raprap sa p.noval
    6. Bbq places sa p.noval
    7. Santorini (if may budget, lol)
    9. Mang tootz
    10. Good munch
    Ps. K&K Mango graham is 🫶🫶

The only one I've been going back to now was Santorini (Korean cuisine), I was kind of surprise it wasn't mention here. Also for japanese siomai the best for me was at master siomai, I'm not fond of their other siomai though. I hope you could try it sometime

    I still think its better to pronounce graham the way us Filipinos do in converse with the locals to avoid confusion. Altho 'grayham' is more alike with how Canadians pronounce it and British with 'grey-am'. It's just that people and PH has been more inclined with how Westerns pronounce it as 'gram' AS IF its the "only right" and the "only way" to pronounce it. Regardless, ANYTHING GOES and different pronunciation works especially with how your culture and country does it. There is no right or wrong way of doing it sheesh.

    Graham with long a is british pronunciation, so that's not to laugh at, it's correct. 🙂 filipinos pala have adopted some british pronunciations. come to think about it, it's a bit confusing which pronunciation we should follow, e.g. british tomato (short a) & british depot (short e) against american tomato (long a) & american depot (long e dee-pot). American Gram or Brit Gra-ham, doesn't really matter.

  • @immj1807
    @immj1807 ปีที่แล้ว

    I PRONOUNCE IT GREY-HAM TOO AND IT'S OKAY. IN OUR AREA, VLOGS, IN ADS/ COMMERCIAL AND MAYBE 90% FILIPINO ALSO PRONOUNCE LIKE THAT SINCE FILIPINO ACCENT ARE MORE ACCURATE THAN OTHER COUNTRY BECAUSE WE CAN PRONOUNCE H SOUNDS❤❤ THEN FILIPINO IS YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE/ FILIPINO IS THE VENDOR/ STORE,😊 SO NO NEED TO ADJUST YOUR ACCENT(AMERICAN). SAME WITH MCDO, THAT'S WHAT WE CALL IT WHILE IN KOREA IT'S DIFFERENT RIGHT

  • @eggmine130
    @eggmine130 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    With all the food I have seen you eat, I can't believe you're still skinny. 😄EDIT: The word "Graham" is really pronounced GRA-HAM, two syllables. However, when said very quickly, it sounds like "GRAM." I had the same confusion before. Also, I don't know if you know, but "Angkong" is a Fookienese (a Chinese dialect in Fookien province) word that means grandfather on the father's side, i.e., the father of one's father.

    That Graham Ball was the favorite project of Business Management students. On my school at Cavite, they are everywhere trying to sell those. ₱25 each, taste good tho. But the serving was kinda small for ₱25. As a student, ₱25 is huge. That's why they will force you to anything just to buy those 😂 And I'm telling you, having a hot/sexy/beautiful tindera will sell those faster 😂 LMAO the nostalgia 🤣

    To those unfamiliar with UST, the places in the video aren't really in Espana but it's around UST. There's four streets surrounding UST, Espana/Lacson/Dapitan/PNoval. Espana doesn't really have much food places, it's mostly in Pnoval and Dapitan.
    Places in the video:
    Angkong's and Dimsum Treats - Dapitan
    Mang Toots - P. Noval
    Lovelite - Dapitan
    Other recommendations:
    Al Jograts - Dapitan
    Wing Vibe - P. Noval

    Jessica, why wouldn't you try enrolling to UST?? it isn't the most "conyo" schools like Ateneo or La Salle, but it has the best mass communications or film industry colleges which I think would best fit your career... if you really want to hone your tagalog speaking skills, better surround yourself with non-conyo pips who can really speak local tagalog straight up..

    My filipina girlfriend and i watched this video and we were both wondering, when was this filmed? It says it was uploaded 2 weeks ago. But how come that 1 student is wearing a sherpa lined hoodie and the other guy is wearing a hoodie as well. I know it’s not chilly in the philippines, i studied at CEU back in the day. Can someone please explain this to us, we’re really confused.

    As a viewer i will choose the mango graham. I love mango. I am also a fan of siomai’s . But when you mentioned sharks fin, that is illegal here in Canada. They stopped restaurants to serve sharks fins.

    Could you please add the Google Maps entries for those videos? Often, there are many places with the same name, that differ WILDLY in quality, or some entries are outdated and wrong.
    As for example with the Angkong or Dimsum Treats places.
    Would be super helpful for visiting also.

    Call it at its usual pronunciation. UST culture wouldn't mind. The best thing about being a Thomasian is people don't mind if you are a conyo speaker, bargas or whatever. We embrace each other as they are.
