the league always had bias refereeing the teams that get the most breaks in order Toronto .Edmonton .BC SASK . AND Calgary the best thing for the CFL was the challenge flag and even then they get it wrong
I recall the Riders having to challenge one of those hits on Collaros (when he was on their team) in order to get a roughing the passer penalty. At least here, the command centre called it without the need for the Bombers to use their challenge (if they still had one). This was long enough after the play that it is possible the refs were no longer looking that way, so having there is nothing wrong with the command centre calling it. That's a good thing, but they should have kicked him out of the game as well.
In the most recent play, I am stunned by two things: a) The incident was not penalized immediately. It is the head referee's job to ensure QB safety, including deadball plays. The CFL has downgraded better head referees for less, and this isn't the first time Andre Proulx has been caught napping. b) Why wasn't this a rough play and an ejection? Dead ball head shot to a QB? In the minors (which I officiated for years) that's a very possible outcome.
The play was over and Proulx had no reason to be focussed on the QB specifically... but that's why the command centre exists and yes that should have been an ejection.

It’s a skill he’s gotten very good at in Winnipeg but the flip side is these kind of hits become more likely, (and with concussion history I’d like to simply see him throw the ball away more if needed).

Guys down on the ground, play well over, and there a shot to the face mask, or a shove in the back of someone in the pile... again, well after the whistle. The refs just ignored that crap all game long, and so the head-butt was inevitable. It's the culture Dickenson craves... it's why he stuck by Marino ... even after he let Marino go, he clearly didn't have a problem with his style of play.

The League had to step in when he couldn't control Garret Marino last year. I've been told that this was Robertson's first major offence. Let's see if Dickenson needs help from the League dealing with this one.
Aside from the last one pretty much all of those are simultaneous hits. The guys already coming in and commited to the tackle and you can’t just suddenly stop or avoid it in a fraction of an instant.
