    I am currently air crisping 5 regular meaty chicken legs/drumsticks in my 8 qt ninja foodie I bought from Target (online) in November 2020. I started using it a few weeks ago and Love it. I don't know why I waited so long to start Lol I started out with flanken short ribs several weeks ago and last week cooking a shoulder blade steak on bake/roast..yum yum yummy! I retired my nuwave pro oven I bought about 9 years ago and it was so seasoned that I did not want to let it go. I had to due to the airfryer dome last November starting to stop working in the middle of cooking from time to time. I am over it now. I am looking forward to continuing to cook in my my ninja foodie and will test out very soon cooking red beans New Orleans style. A coworker inspired me to buy this tendercrisp and pressure cooker. I will have good news to share with her this weekend. I hear my chicken frying and it smells so good!

    I cooked frozen wings in my Foodi tonight and had a helping of potato salad as my side dish. Easy peasy to do in the Ninja as you demonstrated.

    All you need to do is air fry them for 25 minutes at 390. 5 minutes in, open it up and dump out the liquid you get from the wings being defrosted. It works perfectly without having to pressure cook them.

      frankie5567 Doesn’t pressure cook first tenderize them better? I see a lot of PC first with chicken.

    Just to clarify, you did not take the water out before air crisping them, correct? You left the water in?

    • @InternecivusRaptus

      Terry Ayers... either way works.

    • @4seeableTV
      @4seeableTV 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wondered that too. I took mine out prior to the Air Crisp, and the chicken was rather dry. Leaving it in probably would've helped keep in moister.

  • @sandygilbert1037
    @sandygilbert1037 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The air crisper will work with water in it? I didn't know that.

    • @mosslynn
      @mosslynn 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sandy Gilbert he is using the pressure cooker first

    • @cathycutler7996
      @cathycutler7996 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      mosslynn ~I know he used water to pressure cook. But, he didn’t show dumping the residual liquid out prior to air frying. The manufacturer says to remove this liquid prior to air frying. The comment above was saying she didn’t know you could air fry with the liquid present. My answer is though it may be possible, but I doubt it, it isn’t recommend and to me it’s kinda counter intuitive to the drying effect. I think the way the Foodi works so well is that the air is forced off the bottom of the outer vessel. If fluid was present it would defeat that effect and result in a subpar food. 🙏❤️🔥✝️

      @leonard5606 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cathycutler7996 I've watched other videos about the pot and wondered the same thing about leaving the liquid in the pot during the crisping part of cooking it seems the chicken wouldn't get crisp with hot water in the pot (steam and such). I don't have a pot but it would seem odd to leave the hot water in the bottom. I guess I'm missing something.....cheers :)

    Do u empty out the water after you pressure cook the wings???

    • @aroundthehousewithkaytom162

      Yes I do. It just makes more steem if you don't.

    I find with the frozen wings ETC. I only need 1 cup of water because the wings have water in them.

    Ok? soo what was in the tablespoon that u sprinkled in initially? Gotta detail EVERY step . Have no idea what u put on them at the beginning after u dried them off?

    Did you take the water out of the pot?

    • @Danielfucks69
      @Danielfucks69 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Sandy Gilbert no. All you need is 1/2-3/4 cup water in the pot, throw the wings in, pressure cook on high for 5-6 minutes, quick release vent, then air crisp them at 390 for 12-15 minutes depending on how crispy they are. Add some olive oil to them and mix em up about halfway thru air crisping

  • @OddThoughtz
    @OddThoughtz 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    While this is possible they are WAY better if you use whatever rub you like, toss them in just enough olive oil to coat. Put them in at 400 in the air crisp basket. 22 minutes. flip at 11 minutes

      Thanks for your comment! I was wondering, 30 min in the foodie with some babysitting needed. Can't you just put them from frozen, with some seasining, in an oven for 30 min? Seems easier that way, and you can make more in the oven than in the foodi.
