This was really helpfull! Just dinged 90 on my mage and I've mostly been playing arcane while levling. Now i know a good rotation and a good build to maximize my dps! Really helpfull
The haste build is slightly behind the mastery build so long as you never drop your 6 stack Arcane Charge. I recommend watching the video and trying out the rotation (its good for both haste and mastery builds). Arcane really is a big experiment for most mages at the point so just try everything out that you learn and use whatever gives you the most dps!
I use Weak Auras to keep track of my rune of power. This is a general purpose addon where you can make custom displays with custom triggers. In the description I posted a export you can copy into your Weak Auras. My RoP display will only load if your a mage with the talent.
I wrote a module for Quartz that does the same 20% mana view as Arcanometer, but it's attached to the bottom of Quartz cast bar. Find it on Curse as - Quartz: ArcaneMage Arcanometer just wasn't doing it for me, it was hideously ugly, and I was only interested in the mana view.
I keep seeing comments that say one bomb does more dps than another. Can anyone confirm this for sure? I have heard that their usefulness varies depending on how many enemies you are casting on.
i downloaded arcanometer, but how do you move its window? i dont see a mini map button or any tabs in my interface --> addons menu. Also, thank you so much for this guide!
@tomblits, is this still the way to go?... specdfood's armory is showing Living Bomb, not Nether Tempest... is LB performing better overall, or was this just for a specific encounter?
Hello, Please post all of your macros are you using. Are you using a rotation for blast/scorch? - I sow it when you cast but no scorch spell in you main bar so I thin you got something for it - tell us please! :) Thank you!
hey tomblits just downloaded arcanometer it is awsome! But quick noob question its in the middle of my screen and i cant seem to be able to move it down how do i do this?
i honestly don't know it, but my guess would be that AM with 6 stacks > AB with 6 stacks. even without the mana component. though like i said, this is a guess, i never did the math.
I always use frost bomb. It increase a lot your dps. Have tried to use living bomb and nether tempest, but you don't do so much dps as using frost bomb. I am alwayws the second or the first in dps in raid, with frost bomb. At first, I started using living bomb, but it was a waste of time for me. You should do a macro, to cast mirror image arcane power, use mana gem and the potion that gives you 4k more intellect. With this, you will increase your dps more than 20k :D.

Can you do a guide on Weak Auras?? I cant get your exports to work. It says its not loaded.
