Rocket Ball gives a lot of advantage to the contender. The gladiator has to react to the contender's move, so the contender will almost always reach the basket before the gladiator. By the time the gladiator gets up there, the contender could have already scored. Compare that with the old game Swingshot where the gladiator still had to react to the contender, but the contender would jump to grab a ball, giving the gladiator a chance to knock it out of the contender's hand on their way back to the basket. You could probably play Rocket Ball without gladiators and it wouldn't change much. Also, I hate the fact that one contender loses against their opponent in the Eliminator and doesn't even get a shot at the leader board, even though they certainly had a faster time than the slowest, and the announcer is like "only the six fastest times will move on." No, dude, the six fastest are not moving on. The six fastest among the people who beat their one opponent will move on. The cop from last episode had a 9 minute Eliminator time! EVERY other contender so far was faster than him, but because his opponent on that day was even slower, he will move on while someone like Tobey doesn't, even though Tobey finished in under 3 minutes. The same with De. De was obviously faster than Melissa or even Vanessa. Even Hulk said if she had been against anyone else she would have won. You know what they should do? Award a small cash prize to each individual winner, but put EVERYONE on the leader board! Who cares if you beat an opponent who took 10 minutes to finish? A bunch of "losers" beat you!
This is all BS, they let some of them especially the weaker ones win and the gladiators are extra hard against the ones they want to loose....Its like a popularity contest!
Actually,some gladiators were treated like heroes,some even gained freedom because of the favor of the crowd... And not all ancient gladiator fights ended in death..
