    Very helpful. As an ex-Catholic I was told I would go to hell if I left. It took a lot of spiritual courage but with over 50% of their priests involved in homosexuality and a lesser number in financial fraud, I simply could not stay. Now, I'm armed with solid Scriptural information. Thank you.

    I did enjoy the video you've done on being the worst cult leader, brother Denlinger. It was indeed so. Now then, IF you are a "cult leader" I'd guess a "cult" that goes unashamedly by the scriptures aka authorized version of 1611 aka the King James Bible or Holy Bible, then I'd suppose that should be the "cult" for me to belong to. The leader being God himself; the Lord Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh speaking through his inerrant, inspired, unchanging, word. If "they" want to say I'm in a cult, then so be it. May the Lord God open their blinded eyes. I, however, I shall NOT be moved. Blessings to you. May the Lord God even our Father, our Saviour, continue to use you. Lead you, guide you, in the way he would have you to go, in the paths of righteousness, for HIS name's sake. Once again, Blessings to you, the three of you.

    Because I no longer attend a specific church, the "leaders" think I've backslid/fallen away. What happened was, the pastor said something very cruel to my young son and I questioned him and then started questioning other things. How dare I question basically. Then he started telling me not to talk to someone at the church. Excuse me? I'd love for you to dissect this pastor's preaching. I don't think God speaks to him, because he recycles all of his sermons. He got angry at me for researching online for his older sermons. Now I know why. If you partake in the mass and believe in transubstantiation, or pray to anyone other than God, Scripture says you don't have the Holy Spirit because you believe a false gospel.

      My beliefs come from Scripture and the teaching of the apostles but we don’t find Catholicism in the writings of the Apostles. The Apostles had one charge and that was to define, found and build the church so one would imagine that if they meant Catholicism, we'd be reading it directly from Scripture rather than “picking it out of pepper” or by inference via external tradition, hocus pocus and the likes. They defined the Church. They just didn't define yours.
      If praying to Mary or the saints was what God intended, He would have revealed that in His word. Praying to anyone other than God is forbidden and was never practiced in the church founded by the apostles.
      Transubstantiation was never taught or practiced in the early church. What was practiced was the breaking of bread in the early followers homes in rememberance of Christ's once for all sacrifice.
      Acts 2:46
      Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart,
      If you were stranded on a desert isle with only a Bible and had never heard of the Catholic church or Catholicism, you would never see Catholicism in Scripture because it isn't there. That's why Rome added books to the bible along with the Catechism. Without them, Catholcism doesn't exist. It takes a third party, the Roman Catholic church, to make you see Catholicism.
      Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones and may God bless you and remove the scales from your eyes.

    • @TristenTaylorMD
      @TristenTaylorMD ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rickdavis2235 all our beliefs are biblically based, including prayers to the saints. Transubstantiation is just how we define what is going on during communion, but the idea of the real presence was believed and practiced since the start of Christianity. If you read the Early Church Fathers, you would discover the beliefs that were passed from the apostles to their disciples.
      If you were stranded in the Middle East in 100 AD, you wouldn’t even have a Bible. You’d be wholly reliant on the tradition passed from the apostles to your church.
      2 Thessalonians 2:15: therefore brothers, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught, either by an oral statement or by a letter of ours.
      If you’re actually interested in following scripture, you should “test everything, retain what is good” (1 Thessalonians 5:21), have charity towards the beliefs that others hold and learn why we still believe these things

      If Catholicism is based in Scriptural exegesis, show me where it's defined. God would have told us about praying to Mary or the saints. God would have told us to make a cracker and call it Jesus. God would have told us to make statues of things in heaven. He would have defined the office of the papacy, the pope, the bishops, the cardinals, the priests, the nuns, the monks, etc. We don't find them in the New Testament church. Bishops, presbyters, overseers, shepherds, pastors were all used interchangeably for the one office of "elder".
      Early church writers were quoting every book of the New Testament by the end of the 1st century 100 A.D. Common sense tells us that if you are quoting a book then it must already exist. Who says differently? The Catholic church of course, the church that has propagated the lie for almost 1500 years. When you listen to the church that is being questioned, you're only going to get what they want you to know.
      2 Thessalonians says, "Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle."
      Were taught. Not will be taught. Paul tells us in 2 Timothy 3;
      2 Timothy 3:15-17
      15 and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
      16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,
      17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
      Jude 3 tells us, "Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith that was once for all time handed down to the saints."
      2 Timothy tells us that the Scriptures alone give us everything we need for salvation and Jude tells us that we have been given everything that was once handed down for all time to the saints (believers) was delivered and completed in the 1st century A.D.
      2 Thessalonians doesn't tell us to accept false teachings. How are we to treat those who teach a false gospel?
      2 Timothy 4:2
      preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.
      Titus 1:13
      This testimony is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith,
      Titus 2:15
      Declare these things; exhort and rebuke with all authority. Let no one disregard you.
      God tells us to rebuke those who teach false doctrines with patience and teaching. That's what I'm doing. I'm here to testify to the true Gospel of Christ.

    And yet, the successors of poop (whoops beg your pardon) pope Peter don't even follow the teachings of their "blessed" Simon Peter. Didn't Jesus say he would build a church and that that he would send the Holy Spirit to guide it in all truth? That the church would be "one." That it would go to all nations? Did not Paul say that the church would be the pillar and foundation of the truth? And if someone sins and will not listen to you or to 2 or 3 witnesses then you are supposed to take it to the church? Can you tell me what that church is? Did Jesus set up a church and promise that the gates of hell would not prevail against it; and then just let it disappear? I would invite you to read about the church in Acts 15 that held the Council of Jerusalem. Then follow the church fathers Clement, Ignatius, Polycarp, and Irenaeus, Cyril, Athanasius, Ambrose, Augustine. They all belong to only one church.

    If Jesus was truly referring to himself as the rock in Matthew 16:18 then why on earth would he change Simon’s name to Peter which translates to rock or rocky? If Jesus is saying “you are rocky and upon this rock (me) I will build my church” the passage makes 0 sense. Terrible way of explaining the scriptures

    • @rickdavis2235
      @rickdavis2235 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Neil Lucas
      Jesus is the rock in Matthew 16:18.
      Isaiah 28:16 (Yahweh says Jesus is the rock)
      16 therefore thus says the Lord God, “Behold, I am the one who has laid as a foundation in Zion, a stone, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, of a sure foundation: ‘Whoever believes will not be in haste.’
      Ephesians 2:20 (Paul says Jesus is the rock)
      20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone,
      1 Peter 2:4-7 (Peter says Jesus is the rock)
      4 As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, 5 you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6 For it stands in Scripture: “Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.” 7 So the honor is for you who believe, but for those who do not believe, “The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,”
      Acts 4:10-12 (Peter again says Jesus is the rock)
      10 let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead-by him this man is standing before you well. 11 This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. 12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
      Jesus intentionally used two different words, making a play on words; Petros (Peter/small stone) and petra (massive rock). If Peter was the rock, why did Jesus use two different words? Why didn't Jesus just say, "Upon you Peter, I will build my church," Jesus was speaking to all of the apostles and the subject of the passage is the identity of Jesus--not Peter. Paul tells us that the church was built on the foundation of all of the apostles and all of the prophets. All believers are small stones that make up the church (1 Peter 2:5).
      We don’t find Catholicism in the writings of the Apostles. The Apostles had one charge and that was to define, found and build the church so one would imagine that if they meant Catholicism, we'd be reading it directly from Scripture rather than “picking it out of pepper” or by inference via external tradition, hocus pocus and the likes. They defined the Church. They just didn't define the Roman Catholic church.
      Not once in the entirety of the writings of the Apostles does the word Catholic appear in connection with the Christian church. Christian is the term that derived from Antioch, not Catholic or "universal". The term has no relevance with regard to the Church defined by Christ through the Apostles. It gains relevance only under Theodosius who finally attempts a universal church as a means of holding a collapsing Rome together and stopping fights between pagans and Christians.

    God is plural in nature
    (Elohim) but one in Substance, Power, and Spirit just as mankind is in one form (Body, Soul, and Spirit) -- (God, Jesus, and Holy Ghost (Spirit). But as Jesus (Word) was manifest in the flesh and stepped down glory as the Christ (Messiah) but in the natural was "the Image of the invisible God" in the Godhead while here on earth with all authority, he never stopped being God at any point in time. Then in the Holy Ghost (Spirit) manifest his Authority, Power, and Spirit into mankind making our spirit (one) with his Spirit. But will again become (one) in the Supernatural and will step back into glory and become (one) in the Godhead once again and become, (the I Am).
