the soviets wanted taraki to get rid of amin. Amin somehow aware of the coup against him than ordered Taraki to be executed and the soviets were left with a brutal leader who wasn´t in control of the country and with a man they deeply mistrusted. When the Soviets discovered that Amin met with american diplomats they feared that Afghanistan could turn sides and become an american outpost on the soviet border. It was Andropov and Ustinov who urged the Politburo to kill Amin and to send troops, a decision they had rejected earlier in march 1979 during the herat uprising.

However Abu Dawd who ruled for 5 years (1973-1978) after ousting King Zahir,
was in good terms with the soviet union.
("I always light my American cigarette with a Russian match.'')
And under his governance, Afghanistan was much better off than under the 2 murderous fools that wanted to prove their superior redness.
The soviets later were embroiled in a similar situation in South Yemen (Democratic Republic Of Yemen) where the 2 pro-soviet factions still found room for their murderous rivalry that exploded into
a no-holds-barred uncivil war in January1986, forcing the soviet personnel to flee for their lives.
The communist parties in the soviet union's client Islamic states proved to be a bane rather than a boon
      to the Kremlin's policies.
In July 1971 for instance, the Sudanese communists who had helped the militarist Nimeiry to power in 1969,
turned against him & were promptly crushed by a soviet-armed Nimeiry.
Colonel Kassem in Iraq who took power by a coup in 1958, got in bed with the Iraqi communists,
& was killed in a coup in 1963.
Moscow was not happy at all with Kassem & his can of red paint in a Muslim country.
The Egyptian communists provided propaganda entertainment for Nasser who made a spectacle of jailing them, more often than not with the soviet embassy pulling the strings for their demise.

The fifth worst day was when was killed and Babrik was installed. Then came the turn of Najuib and be hanged . The Entire experience of Soviets was massacres of masses and jilling the puppets they were installing one after the other. The Americans also did not want to be left behind. They massacred and killed for anither twenty years. Deposing kings and rulers is the most unfortunate thing that can happen to nations. Did Soviet deserve this disgrace abd did they learn anything from their disasterous advebture? Did Anericans and Europeans NATO nations deserve the disgrace and did they learn anything? Did Afghans learn anything from collaborating with fireign imperialist invaders, and did they deserve what happend to their people and their land? Humans hardly ever learn from their mistakes!

A small country Israel smashed all Muslims countries.
If American actually wanted to win this war they could have drop nuke on Afghanistan or send all their troop. America have 800 military base all around the world. They knew Afghanistan isn't oil rich country so they left otherwise they would be still their.
If your Allah is that great then why he's not helping Palestine and ughiar Muslims in China.

Faqir Muhammad Faqi, i beg your pardon, please do not distort the history, it was not the worst day/darkest day of Afghanistan that Amin was assassinated... but the day you assassinated Sardar Daud was that day! how would you justify it to your nation and country and Allah(if you now believe in him now at all)... you initiated bloodletting in Afghanistan( pata na lagi che kuna k mo sa kharakht kedo)!
Communism has its stages before it is implemented...Afghanistan was not even achieved the first one. did you not know your nation and their thinking, their allegiance to their religion, and your history above all. What prodded you to stage the so-called Revolution when it was a quo, for revolution has its roots in the nation and in the common man. Shame on you spurred the chain reaction of destruction in that peaceful country! you will never be forgiven!!
