Like all M.T.H. locomotives, our new ES44AC offers HO scale’s finest combination of detail, realism, and performance. Listen to the chant of an authentic GEVO-12 motor in the Proto-Sound 3 versions, and throttle down as low as three scale miles per hour so you can admire the details as the Evolution Series glides by: see-through fans and grilles, walkways with safety tread, flashing ditch lights, windshield wipers, body and truck air brake piping, and a host of other separately applied details. Activate the couplers from anywhere on the layout using any DCC controller or the DCS Digital Command System. For the ultimate in power and sound, operate these diesels in multiple-unit lashups under DCC, or DCS digital command control. If you’re running under the M.T.H. DCS system, you can double- or even triple-head the ES44AC with virtually any combination of 3.0 locomotives.
very nice loco
Have that same unit and no problems at all. The hand rails are solid the best I seen over everybody else. Not flemsie at all.feels like wire not plastic but just on this unit which is a newer run. I guess you just purchased one bad one that got thru. Hope it gets replaced instead of repaired
The smoke stacks on my brand new Paragon rolling thunder like this Melted the 1st day I had it And I put fresh smoking oil in it before running it

I purchased a MTH about a year ago and found it to be excellent. “Stuff” happens to all the brands, but this one should never have left the factory.
Absolutely, I'm happy that they are working to fix this problem.
Probably the guys playing football with it while in shipment.

I love the MTH locos when they run right. When something (mainly electronic) doesn't work right, they are tougher to fix. I have the earlier version of this (2016? release) and I really like it. I also have the newer version (Halloween scheme), and it has some sound issues out of the box.
My wife says she knows who the "boss" is! LOL. That precious little girl is! Thanks for sharing! Love the colors on that engine! Sorry it broke down on you.
Sorry to see that happen. Sorry to say this but personally I am not a fan of MTH. I however did not expect this type of issue from an engine like that. I hope they make good on it and you don't endure all the horrors that I have heard about MTH tech support.
Wow that stinks. Have you had many issues before with MTH? I ask Bc I’ve been debating ordering a couple. Unfortunately there’s so many negative opinions on them. So I’m afraid to pull the trigger. Well anyhow I hope they make good on it and do right by you. David
I usually don't have problems with the company this is the 1st time it had happened. The worst thing that happened to me was I brought 20 tank cars from scale trains and 17 of them needed their trucks to be replaced . scaletrains sent replacements trucks without a problem . Anytime I have a issue with the product I'll just send it back to be replaced or repaired. Richard

I can see NS doing that now to your loco 🤣 That's a cool looking and sounding loco but not very good quality control over at MTH.
I hope that it highlights some areas that need some improvement in the manufacturing process. This won't stop me from by mth. If something's wrong I'll just send it back to be fixed
