can you tell me why after doing this ram clear that the machine nown pays out each time you win and the original sounds havent come back yet? ex, makes noise when you drop coins into play but doesnt make noise when the reels spin or any noise when you win credits???
very informative video, thanks for posting. i have a situation i have not seen covered by anyone in any forum and wonder if you might help. it is an igt double lucky seven machine that lights up with power, used to work but then quit. not into it a lot at this point because there is a substantial glob of what appears to be melted plastic (now solidified) hanging from the inner housing of the pull handle. some of the stuff has dripped to the housing floor so heat came from somewhere, so my question is, would it be worth the effort on this (May 26 92 from inside cabinet) machine to try to fix it? thanks in advance.

I got the 61 error as anticipated, but after turning the key, I got a completely different set of numbers. In this video you said that the Clear chip 123 was kind of a last resort. Is there a way to figure out the other codes to reset? My machine is a 3 quarter max instead of 2. THanks, Chip
Depending on what model slot (titles sometimes span multiple models)... The candle segments usually indicate the type of error by what each one is doing...between steady on / fast flash / slow flash / off. I would look at this and the numerical displays to determine the error code(s). Mine had a chart of error codes inside the door...yours may too.
Sir, My Boss had bought around 10 of this type slot machines, The machines have set idle unplugged for years. Now two us are trying to get them working. We had the 12 error codes and have replaced the battery on the circuit boards. Now still having problems. I was able to get one machine working perfectly then the next day it wants to spit out money. I think a ivt123/clear123 might cure the machine problems. Where do I purchase these chips, and does this chip or another chip run a diagnostic on all the electric components? Thank You, Doug
The settings/test mode can be very finnicky so it's possible you have something set wrong or is corrupt from the battery error. I don't have enough experience with these to jump to saying clear the ram. I would try googling your specific issues/any error codes. I don't think the chips give you any further diagnosis options, but you will be able to see/set different settings depending on what chip you currently have installed.
Subscribed and Light. Can you tell me why you had to adjust the coin comparator aren't they pretty solid? I have a triple diamond IGT and it's rejecting every coin and I believe I'm throwing a code 61.

so I put a new battery in the machine from batteries plus then got the 61 code, opened the door hit the reset button closed the door and turned the jackpot key, nothing happened. I read somewhere I could pull the reel prom out and put it back in to fix this. so i took it out and put it in backwards on accident and it got super hot actually measured it with a laser IR and it was 185 degrees F ! and i assume its ruined I guess allot of people have accidently done this, so I guess what my question is now.. can I replace the real prom and use a clear chip to get the machine working again ?
Yes, you most likely damaged the chip as that sends voltage to the wrong pins. Hopefully only the chip if it got that hot. It is 50/50 if you replace the reel chip with a new one, it may work as/is (without needing a clear chip). Personally I would recommend not using that particular chip again. If you still get the 61 loop, depending on the reel chip, sometimes switching to another major revision or another game will cause the mpu to reset itself like a clear chip would, and then you can switch back to the desired version. But if you are ordering a reel chip anyway, I would recommend a clear and set chip at the same time to save on future shipping. This may be what is causing your candle light error.
