Actually house sparrows (the ones in this video) are ridiclously overpopulated pest species that kill off endangered birds and drive out native wildlife for nesting space and food. They're probably the closest you can get to a rat with wings - house sparrows damage entire ecosystems and ravage native wildlife extremely rapidly. This times fifty million. If they're really that upset about it, they can do something about it like volunteering to help animals or to spread education about common "pest" animals value like coyotes and doves, vs commenting on an internet video about how this is animal abuse.
Coyotes are often killed and seen as a pest animal around here. Sort of like how a larger portion of the world see's rats as "dirty" and "pests". Harmful to the environment or their assets, like crops and livestock or children. Starlings and House Sparrows are invasive species, but have gradually taken a place in the ecosystems they now inhabit. Despite that they are often seen as pest animals, even still.
or you use this trap to get a bird out of your house easier or somewhere enclosed, as opposed to running after it with a net or cloth. Like say the place doesn't even have large windows for the poor thing to get out through. Even then birds can panic and not go through what seems to be an obvious exit. Letting it calm down and trap itself to then release it outside would be an effective and near harmless use of this trap.
Hey everyone, the point of the video is to show how to make a trap by simply using a water bottle and wire. He lets the bird go. He is showing the effectiveness of the trap. To the imaginative guy, this is very creative. Thank you for sharing.
From what I can tell, no bird has been hurt. This is useful if you want to get it out of your house or a place. Or even capture injured birdies and fix them up. Geez.
We all love petting an animal or just inspecting it up close, but if you don't want to hurt the animal, please replace the screws with something blunt or put them in from the inside out. When the hatch shuts and the birds inside panic, they can hurt themselves on the pointy end, especially around the eyes, and potentially die as a result.
How would it be less effective after blunting the screws? And if you catch an animal for inspecting i think you should care more about its health then the traps effectiveness, you can always reset the trap, its not like your live depends on it.

food procurement or pest control. It's not cruel, the birds aren't harmed in anyway. Some people are so privileged to have access to conventional food supply or controlled bird populations. Some aren't. This trap can be used for other captures as well it would appear. The comment section is a good reminder lots of folks will starve or result to other means if they ever had to get food anywhere but a grocery store.
Rusty Shackleford but if the have babies then there harmed cuz the can starve if the bird is kept in there for a long period of time because now other children are going to go do this
LemonDrop if the trap is used for catching food or pest control as Rusty described then whomever is catching the birds doesnt give a single fuck about the birds' personal lives and in the case of pest control killing off any babies indirectly by killing the parent only makes the job easier. On another note; Kids recreating this trap for entertainment are going to attempt to catch birds for fun regardless of this videos existance. I used to catch garter snakes and little fish with my hands as a child without the internet showing me how.
LemonDrop again, may not always have access to super markets for food or may need to live capture for relocation or study. This video looks like a proof of concept. Something educational to show how to make one if you ever had to.
for people wanting to know why and downvoting, have you considered: ornithology students who need a low-budget way of trapping local wildlife for study?
That's creativity right there. Makes you wonder how people use their survival skills to trap their food back then by using only natural resources like branches, rocks etc. Thank you for trying to comfort and also releasing the bird. The poor creature must be really scared.
Its a nice trap.. And felt good to see you release the bird.. But not everyone who will make the trap using your video will release them.. So.... I dont know.. What do you think??
Funny how none of "those" people are standing up to the fish. Let's see. Like the bird..... the fish is small. The fish will be stressed if caught. The fish may die cause it might be eaten or released. The fish has a small heart (for god sakes man, these people and their shit) so it will die in the process of being caught. The fish once caught will be tossed into a cramped bucket along with others like the bird getting caught in a cramped bottle. The fish has feelings. and many other reasons. Idk about you guys but it seems like our fish friends could use some love too. So go ahead and go to a fish catching video and ask " but why and why are you doing this pointless thing"
giggity goo Thats the point, it seems like only because he cant hug you or stand in your shoulder he has no feelings. One thing is certain, if you gave any animal the opportunity to kill you, no matter his size or charateristics, he would kill you. That is, if you are not his friend. Those clickbaity videos just bunch up mediocres
Gustavo Folmer that was a joke for the other people who says birds will get strokes from being captured. Yeah not gonna happen and wont happen to fishes either.
Thank goodness you didn't harm the lil birdie...as an AFRICAN(SOUTH AFRICAN to be precise) I was once bed ridden for a full year, couldn't go outside and could only hear the sounds these birds make in the morning, once you are deprived of experiencing the outside world, you will learn to appreciate the sounds/singing these birds make every single morning TRUST ME...they are here for a reason(though some find them irritating) to add balance to nature.
Hunjry Dood youre the most pathetic person here. How in the world did he starve it? Huh. He fed it it and did catch and release. That's what we do to fish and not many people care about that. Also how does that prevent it from having future chicks. That makes absolutely no sense. Yes he scared it. But the bird will eventually forget about and move on. Jeez you freaking hippie. You're argument didn't help you're case at all. Smh.
Catching a bird is cool.. Most of the people bitching have never lived in the country where playing and catching wildlife is a great way to learn.. I handled wild snakes (blacks, coplerheads, king snakes, rat snakes, corn snakes) I would catch birds to but I wasn"t out to harm them. Birds are dirty. You can get diseases from them, but then after you let them go, you go scrub your hands..Same with turtles, and lizards and snakes. They can carry salmonella. These are things you learn when you get up close with nature. Most people are too scared, or incapable of understanding that we are a part of nature. That we can find a closeness with nature without being afraid.. When you spend enough time handling fish, digging for worms, watching how animals react, and seeing your friends, and parents handle animals, or you have the time to raise, use, and care for all sorts of animals, it gives you a sense of being a part of your surroundings .. Not a disconnected alarmist.. Trust me.. Its fun.. I have held barn swallows, Blue Jays, Wild Turkey, Pheasant, Pigeons, Robins, sparrows, starlings, and even fruit bats.. Lots more I can't begin to list. Someday people need to stop thinking of others in a negative.way. just because they have gained a better understanding through studying the world around them wth all 5 senses without fear, and with respect.
Shadowx Talion Me to.. There are just so many people that live so sequestered that they live in fear of virtually everything to the point of psychotic break. They let their irrational fears destroy any direct contact with nature to the point they grant themselvss the right to dictate their fear to others..
makes me sad kids today know nothing of their own environment.won't even go out to play in the snow.I see nothing good coming of it. lambs to the slaughter.
Relax he setted it free anyways and its like other birds I agree to keep it IF he knows how to take good care of it...I am honestly addicted to animals
Nice to see that he freed the innocent cute bird after successful trap.. But why to put these beautiful creatures in pain even for a second.. Instead they deserve love care and preservation..
This is very remarkably in this video when it is a bird who get trapped in a bottle it's so many who don't like it, but when it is a rat who trap in a bottle the people turn to be the most evil in the comments against the rats, actually I can understand why but it's awful that people want to treat mice and rats so bad, they are also animals.
Rat's don't spreed plague today because we have injections nowadays, the answer is if you respect the animals the animals will respect you, that's it. In the whole it is of course the humans who cause the problem and there is no reason to torture them, that definitely don't solve the problem at all.
Moonee they don’t spread the plague now, I never said that I said they did at one point. And they DO spread several OTHER diseases, crap in food, and eat our food from right in our cabinets.
Yes that is maybe a problem, but it's the human who must solve the problem because rats comes when they smell food if you have food spreed on the ground they come, they are made for that, they are even night animals and use to work then and it's not god when you make them social to humans because then they get worse, it's why.
Moonee tell that to the rats who come into my cabinets when I have a perfectly clean home and who dig into the cardboard in boxes that don’t even have food-
It's nearly impossible to have a TH-cam video with animals in it that doesn't have some people frothing mad, you'd have to have a video of a kitten just rolling over or something and even then somebody would probably complain that it's being mistreated or something.
Benjamin most definitely that’s why some traps go out of fashion animals eventually learn and adapt so newer ones must be put in please if you look at mice and experience mouse will often come at an angel to grab the food without tripping the trap.Even things like fish may have reminiscence of hooks.
This has been proven useful for catching sparrows that find themselves in the grocery store I work for, instead of management calling animal control and them just killing the poor things.
This also works on women.. Just put a dollar bill half way in your pocket and walk down the side walk, they will come to you pretending that they like you. And once they get the dollar bill you will never see them again ! It's kind of like catch and release the easy way !!!!
I captured an alligator by mistake how do i get rid of it? EDIT 21 JUNE: We actually became friends, now that he actually bought a new house about 200m down the road i feel bad that i font get to see him that often since he has his own job and i have mine.

Those clickbaity videos just bunch up mediocres
giggity goo But I never saw a small fish that had a stroke tho, they are some hardy mo-fuckers.
But I almost never go fishing as well, so idk.
Gustavo Folmer that was a joke for the other people who says birds will get strokes from being captured. Yeah not gonna happen and wont happen to fishes either.
AWESOME JOB, NİCE STREAM AS WELL! GOOD LUCK 🍀. 😃😃
💚💚💛🎶🎶
Thank you for let him go ⚘
Goo Planet ikr
Don't thank him! He trapped it, starved it, scared it, and killed off any eggs or chicks it may have had.
Smh.
That's a cool way to trap a bird but at least you let it out
Теперь я не сдохну с голоду, держитесь творобушки
Хахах
Now I can become a serial bird trapper

I hope people who do this let them go like you...

mike ryan sounds like a healthy relationship
you sure you got a wife? LOL
It sounds like you're the one trapped inside a bottle.
That's toxic asf mike, hope she divorces u soon
What a great idea and I suppose you can stamp on the bird aftwards and the bottle keeps the mess in👌
Bruh you don’t need a bird, leave the flying bois alone.
Tigol_Bitties he let the birds go?? so what is the problem here?
Cool trap, but maybe use a flat nut so you don't hurt the bird with those two sharp metal screws on the inside...
Someday people need to stop thinking of others in a negative.way. just because they have gained a better understanding through studying the world around them wth all 5 senses without fear, and with respect.
i used to catch pigeons when i was 9years old with my brother just for fun and play with em a little bit then release em
Воробей, умная птичка! Вот бы, на подобие этой ловушки, придумать ловить мышей 🐭
Есть простая ловушка для мышей из ведра.... поищите видео, есть на ютюбе
Похожее делают и для мышей.
у них тупые
Great for when bird box happens in real life!

I think the plague that killed millions might be why-
Rat's don't spreed plague today because we have injections nowadays, the answer is if you respect the animals the animals will respect you, that's it.
Moonee tell that to the rats who come into my cabinets when I have a perfectly clean home and who dig into the cardboard in boxes that don’t even have food-
Oh sure kidnapping a bird is ok but when I kidnap the neighbour's dog the police show up..
Omg dude
Lol
II Veathkyn II holy shit
II Veathkyn II Funniest comment award goes to Veathkyn !
🙃🙃🙃🙃
It really bothers me that absolutely NO ONE, Is considering the survival applications of this.
I loved the sound effect when the sparrow "plopped" down to the ground!!
Interesting vid.
But...
Wow, I never thought even this kind of thing would bring keyboard warriors in rage.
It's nearly impossible to have a TH-cam video with animals in it that doesn't have some people frothing mad, you'd have to have a video of a kitten just rolling over or something and even then somebody would probably complain that it's being mistreated or something.
esta muy bueno a mí me funcionó, buen vídeo

What if a bird comes into your house and you need to get it out a simple little trap is a good way to get it out
Музыкальные воробушки. Хороший трек можно было запилить.
I Love happy ending :)
How about the middle part
Please deal with me! please
Seems like they're intelligent to know something is up with this bottle and food in it and are watchful .
Those birds are so cute
5:43 when you lost your mom at the supermarket
XDDDDDDDD
He didn't hurt the bird chill tf out people
This also works on women.. Just put a dollar bill half way in your pocket and walk down the side walk, they will come to you pretending that they like you. And once they get the dollar bill you will never see them again ! It's kind of like catch and release the easy way !!!!
تالااتن
