Drae, there is a game called Automation. You can make a series from it. Just make cars in Automation and extract them to BeamNG. I can't even tell how many hours I've spent making all kinds of cars (over 200 models). Also there are many mods
Jorge That’s surprisingly a thing, it’s called a „gravitational start” (or thereabouts). My personal favourite is when two people get a length of elastic rope and essentially slingshot the glider into the air like in angry birds.

Gliders are actually really hard to fly and yes you do have to have a special license to fly one, but you can get it before your pilots license and drivers license.
Gauge from left to right, airspeed in knots, altitude in feet, vertical speed in feet per minute. Gliders are pulled by another plane (with engine) but I guess rolling off a mountain works too.

0:30 Yes, you do need a license to fly a glider. 1:24 You could also pull it over the aifield's runway with a car. :) 2:51 Like Fantaman900 also said; From left to right: Airspeed (usually in Knots), Altitude (usually in Feet), climb/descent indicator (usually in Feet/second or minute) 03:10 It's called the (rear)fuselage, Drae. :) 13:38 That would be the navigator. :) 14:03 IRL that was done to improve engine cooling. And no, that red thing is not a turbo, it's the housing for the blower that provides the air cooling of the engine. 14:42 The numbers indicate the length/turnrate of a corner. A 6 is the easiest, and a 1 is basically a straight angle. A navigator could say something like "4 left, opens into 6, don't cut." This would mean the corner gets longer and more gentle, and the driver should keep clear of the inside of the corner (usually because of obstacles). Yes, I have a fair share of game time with Colin McRae Rally games.
A glider like that is towed behind a plane beginning with the take off and then the tow rope is detached at a certain altitude and the glider..well glides. I used to live next to a municipal airport and watched them come and go all the time.
Draegast, what about try towing the glider with a legit plane? I.e the Antonov An-12B, B-25 Mitchell, Gloster Meteor, Me-262 or the Cessna L19 (Cessplane L19). And also pulling the glider with a land vehicle or just use the 'tethers' to launch it? Please do both in the next video, @Draegast
Quick summary of the co-driver's dialogue there - the pace notes - in case anyone's interested and nobody else has gotten to it before me. The number of the corner - as Drae was figuring out - goes down from 6 to 1 as the corner gets tighter. One rule of thumb is that the number is the gear you could get away with taking the turn in. After that you hit a right angle, or square. Anything beyond that is usually called a hairpin, though I believe in some styles there are different numbers of hairpin. The common style in games - the one used here - comes in large part from the Colin Mcrae rally games, being the way he preferred his pace notes done.
The middle thing is the fuselage. Majority of it is the fuselage. It actually might be an empennage which is the tail section. Glidders have the same control schemes as regular aircraft. They some times come with motors for initial takeoff. Gliders are often towed into the air by smaller aircraft then released.
GG. In most countries, you need a glider licence to fly a glider. It is different from a pilot licence and both are different from a helicopter licence. There are brakes on a glider. There is a skid pad in front of the landing wheel. To apply the brakes, lift the tail. The safest way to launch a glider is to tow it behind a plane.
@@l_CJ_xl And I flew gliders. Modern gliders only have the hard points of the towing hook, the landing wheel, and the skid pad. They're made as light as possible, which makes the rest of the glider somewhat fragile.
Drae, a little lesson in aircraft parts, the Cockpit is.... well, the cockpit, the front of the aircraft where the wings are attached is the Fuselage, the back side is the Empennage, The tail parts include the Rudder which everyone probably knows, the up/down control surface is the Elevator, and the control surfaces at the edge of the wing are your Aileron's, thank you for flying Air I've Flown a Plane Once In my Life I Know All There is About Planes, we know you have a choice when choosing your comment section mentors and we appreciate you choosing us, please stay seated while we begin the takeoff procedure, followed shortly by our in flight movie, Top Gun, Thank you.
You do need a glider rating and a pilot Certificates to fly glider. And for the cockpit panel, those are called stream gages, the Left one is call the Airspeed indicator, middle one is the altitude indicator, and the right one is call the Vertical speed indicator (VSI). And it look like the wing look like it was putting out too much g or stress therefore it gotten reaped off
You need a pilot's license to fly a glider (and you can learn in a glider, and can solo for the 1st time at the age of 14. Fun fact). It takes pretty much the same amount of time. This applies to the US.
The only light aircraft I flew was a glider, it is a pretty surreal experience seeing as they are capable of 140 degree turns and all you can hear is the sound of wind over the wings.

In reality, they don't take off using a hill. They actualy attach a tow rope to the nose of the glider and the back of a regular plane. They tow the glider into the air and release it from a high altitude.
