Great video as always brother!!! This is what i did for my jeep to but I didn't go bigger in the dash. I just replaced them with the kicker speaker. It was a major upgrade!
i have a really cheap jeep for my first car its the 97 SE and the first thing we did was upgrade those speakers. they were basically conpletely destroyed after all the years of it being in texas and all. that poor jeep was in the roughest conditions lol. i got it in may last year and im still finding dirt from texas lol but that speaker upgrade is a must
This was the first thing I actually did to my TJ. The paper speakers sounded wack. I have a sony deck, infinity speakers in the front, and kickers above.
Considering putting Polk 462’s in my 04 Wrangler along with the DB522’s in the sound bar. Anyone experienced issues with upgrading speakers but keeping the factory head unit?

@@KyleSVT lol yeah that's the thing with those Cobra's, they sound so good w/out the stereo anyway. But when I have used it it's sounded like crap so I'd like to address that at some point
Kyle do you think it is worth lining the pods with sound dampening? I also did a power pack amp to power my 4 speakers. My sub is sled powered and under the back seat 8” infinity bass link. I didn’t have the sub in center console, so had to do something else
Honestly its hard to tell the difference between the stock and pods. The soundbar speakers is where you get most of the sound difference bc its right by your ear

I did JL audio C2 series for all of my speakers. I like the sound of them. Placement of the front speakers leaves me wanting. Sound feels so rear dominant.
@@diernosaj my fader is set to front1. If you take power from the rear speakers they lose a lot of clarity. It’s not worth the sound loss from my larger rears
We went with the kicker kit from quadratec. It sounds great over the factory system. For my Jeep I was thinking about doing the same size upgrade and the same speaker housings but getting some nice focal speakers.
one of the things I *need* to do in my tj, that and a myriad of other things. The kicker is it's my one and only. Currently saving up for a project car so I have something to drive to work on my daily lol

wait, what kit did you get to convert the front speakers to round ones? mine is the oval one that sounds good up until around 23 volume.

Id like to upgrade the entire speaker system in the Cobra at some point but its at the bottom of my long list of things I want to do to it.

Thanks brother! I would go with the Bestop Sailcloth Replace-a-top. It is thicker than the cheaper Vinyl so it will be quieter

You need to adjust the fader to the front more to balance out the rear dominant speakers right by your ears.
