according to genius, “Em talks about Dre being stuck creatively, unable to make music the way he used to due to his grief and depression. Em, who went through this himself after his best friend died in 2006, is making a passionate attempt to get through to him so Dre will start believing in his own abilities again. Dre is a “perfectionist”, but the legend is currently stuck in the mud and Eminem is afraid for him. Eminem references his own struggles to make it and Dre’s assistance, and also cites the super-producer’s personal troubles including the death of his son, Andre Young Jr.”

@@Fabian6980 Eminem got by on his sheer technical ability, creatively his head was up his ass. He did make some good songs, but he was not himself during the Re-Up to Relapse era. I'd also assume things would have been a lot worse if Dre didn't have his back.

This came out a few years after Dr Dre's son died. Dre's son died around 2009 i think this came out in 2011. Obviously that isn't the main thing the song is about, but I'm sure that was the main thing Dre would have still been dealing /struggling with. There's an old interview of Skylar Grey talking about this song, and she says Eminem wrote his verses in a couple of hours

When Dre was about to sign with Eminem a lot of his old friends (rappers/producers) were not sure if sign Em was a good idea. So they turned their back on Dre and Dre gave the right shot signing Eminem.
Also Dre lost his son and during that time Dre was not able to finish his Detox project. Dre was about quitting Rap game but Eminem was there

They are more than friends, they are brothers. They came into each other’s lives when each were at some of the lowest, most desperate times of their lives. Dre saved Eminem. But Em saved him too; Eminem literally saved Dre’s then fledgling label Aftermath as Interscope was ready to fire him at that point. He also helped Dre revive his rap career and helped him write the successful album Chronic 2001, which was the return of Dre. Up until that point Dre’s career was in free fall coming off the critically and commercially disastrous album The Firm. It’s like People have amnesia now, cause everyone seems to only remember what Dre did for Eminem. But they forget what Em actually did for Dre. Then Eminem took a chance on 50, when Dre didn’t want to sign him. But Em believed in 50, the way Dre had believed in him. So he went along with Em and they signed him jointly. Then when 50 blew up and took over the world and Eminem at that point had released three legendary, phenomenal, record breaking platinum and award winning albums, no one could touch Aftermath/Shady. Those three were THEE dominant force in hip hop for over a decade. And no words can probably express what the three of them mean to each other. They all saved each other, in different ways, and at critical times in their personal & professional lives. Just don’t see that anymore, not like that. Dre and Eminem have been friends since the day the met. They became brothers and have always been there for each other. Sometimes when no one else was. 👍

Her grandfather has more ties to the Mob than John Gotti he owns two of the largest casinos in Las Vegas and three of the largest in Biloxi Mississippi on her other side the family Lucky Luciano was married to her great-aunt her grandfather could snap his fingers and there wouldn't be no more dr. Keagan hey I’ve got a few. I have to say Stevie is ace and he’s covered 95% of my first choice picks. There is a few songs I listen to a lot that haven’t been done yet.
      Beautiful from relapse
Evil deeds and never enough and encore from encore album
Public enemy number 1 and no apologies from the re up.
      Stepping stone- kamikaze
      Fight music-D12
      Superman the Eminem show
      Don’t approach me- with xzhibit
What songs would you like to hear?

Dr. Dre's son died in 2008. The song came out in 2011. This was around the time 1) Dre was dealing with the loss & 2) he was physically reinventing himself by losing weight and putting gon muscle

It's dark, let me turn on the lights
And brighten me and enlighten you
    It Dawned on me (dawn)
    You lost a Son (🌞)
    It's dark.
Let me turn on the lights. 💡

    And enlighten you

This actually scares the shit out of me because last time Em made a film clip with someone dying on the table (Toy soldiers) Bugz death was portrayed by proof who later died. This gave me the chills.
Completely understand what Em and Dre are saying here. So very very glad they are both still with us . In my opinion the biggest game changing geniuses in Hip Hop/Rap.

I could only imagine how many takes it took to get her parts in, as you can tell she was filmed underwater, and trying to talk, even just lip syncing underwater is probably hell. Beautiful production. Oh, and I caught like 5 product placements, making that money off in video ads. like the HP tablet and laptop, Dre's Beats headphones and laptop, the watch Em is wearing.

There's a short interview vid of dre talking about the people in his camp on how they threaten to leave and won't work with him on anything if he signs Em , so he didn't listen to them so when he signed Em all the the things that they said that they were gonna do they did it they turned there backs on dre and other rappers did the same to him too and people started to leave , with all that and when his son passed away and relationship problems he was gonna leave the rap game but Em convinced him to stay , so dre said all he needs is Em and started rebuilding again

@Audio and whips yo Dre at the time when he left DeathRow he didn't had an Artist to work with and that's when Em came into play.. The reason ppl were laughing at Dre and his white Boy was because of Vanilla Ice.. He was a one hit wonder he was white and was in the rap game.. But fell off.. And that's what ppl expected to happen with Em.. They both needed each other and history is prooving it🤘🏽
