- We think it is the spark plug, but might be more... Our wood chipper is not working as it should and that is bringing a delay in our projects. We hope you can help us figuring out what is going on?

Ola Arend &Bionda Sounds like there is a little trash in the carburetor bowl or some water underneath the carburetor there is a little screw unscrew it take the little bowl off to see if it’s clean And make sure every 25 hours to clean the air filter and change the oil that is the life of the engine👍✌️🤙❤️🇵🇹❤️
Thanks, carburettor is cleaned and checked. It was cleane but cleaned it to be sure, unfortunately it didn’t make any difference. Air filter is also looking good. Thanks for the tips 😊
@@biondaeliza7751 I have my own landscape company guys usually that’s a problem either with your carburetor or your ignition which makes your spark plug Fire sometimes it gets hot and then stops firing I would bring it back and let them look at it before you warranty runs out
I’m so glad you got to take this time out for yourself, even if it’s to run errands, but those could be a complete pleasure trip as well. I remember how much I enjoyed running my errands without having to keep track of children.

Spark plug shows that it's running too rich, either too much fuel or too little air. I'm suspecting a clogged air filter. You have a dusty environment and it's not surprising for filter to be plugged up. Take off air filter and check condition.
I've just had exactly the same problem with a band new strimmer. I discovered I had been reading the fuel/oil mixture on the mixing jug wrong so using too much oil plus using oil that creates lots of smoke instead of smokeless so it went through 2 new spark plugs in 2 days. My oil/fuel mix is correct now and no more problems 😊

Your looking at 2 different motors. The trimmer is 2 cycle with which you use mixed fuel . The motor on the chipper is 4 stroke which means you use etraight fuel. You must be putting mixed fuel in the chipper, that's why you are getting so much carbon on the sparkplug. Cross your fingers...
Thanks, we have the oil and fuel add to the machine in a different way then a strimmer or chainsaw. Those are 2 stroke engines and this is a 4 stroke engine. It could be that the carburettor needs to be tweaked but for now we first replace the spark plug.

On the carb there is a small brass (messing) screw. Back it off half a turn to weaken the mixture.
We tried, I think we first have to replace the spark plug and then have the settings right for the carburettor. Thanks for sharing 🥰

Hmm but it did worked for already a few times. And we had no problems or odd things. Only the last time.. But I will keep it in mind. We know it needs the 95 (no mix) fuel.

Looking at the spark plug colour it’s running rich the sound of the engine tells me it kind of chocking
We do turn the choke off after we started the machine. Do you know of more settings we can change? It is a 4 stroke engine and the oil is filled separately from the gasoline. Also is it possible that because the spark plug isn’t working (well) that is the reason the machine is choking. And renewing the spark plug will stop that problem?
it is not a fuel issue, it is either low on oil or one of the security swiches is misalined, mine had that problem from brand new

Dirt in the carburator nozzles/ fuel line
Dirt in carburettor also crossed our mind so we cleaned it. Didn’t make a difference for now. But doesn’t mean it needed to be done. We hope changing the spark plug will do.

Thanks! We did that. We now are going to buy a new spark plug and tweak the carburettor in hope that will solve the issue.
Hoi! ik denk dat het de vlotter in de carburateur is.... Als hij start maar na een korte tijd uitvalt heeft hij enkel gelopen op het beetje benzine in het vlotterbakje onder de carburateur. Na een poosje stilstaan loopt hier meestal weer wat benzine in en start ie weer gewoon tot het weer uitvalt
Vlotterbakje verwijderen schoonmaken en vooral ook het vlottertje moet vrij bewegen nergens tegenaankomen en het afsluitertje (pinnetje) wat meebeweegt goed schoonmaken. Inclusief het gaatje wat ie afsluit.

Dank voor de reactie. De carburateur is al nagekeken en schoongemaakt. Er is niks aan te zien wat evt verdacht is of nader onderzoek vraagt. Ook luchtfilter benzine pijl, olie pijl etc allemaal gecontroleerd. Het enige wat er wat zorgelijk uitziet is de bougie, dus die nu eerst vervangen en evt de toevoer van olie, benzine lucht meer aanpassen. Hopelijk gaat dat het oplossen.

Bougie is wel heel zwart dus tekort lucht of te veel brandstof draait hij zonder luchtfilter wel(geen hout indoen dan) en wat is de afstand tussen de bougie punten?

Hi Jamie, thanks for your reply.
The choke is turned off after start, if we leave it on it doesn’t work. I was able to work with the machine the day before, it just died in the middle of a session. I was able to restart and continue my work and after 5 min work it stopped again. After that it was the same as shown in the video. I have no idea on how to check on the governor linkage, so I ask Arend to do more research on that. Thanks again 😊

The machine barely fits in the car and is super heavy 😅 We try to avoid that. Our plan now is to change the spark plug and tweak the carburettor. Hopefully that will do.

@@biondaeliza7751 É estranho...parece ser um bom motor...poderá ser na parte eléctrica...como se trata de um equipamento novo, deve ter garantia. Espero que consigam resolver este problema, sem ter que comprar um novo. Estou a gostar muito do vosso projeto...nem posso esperar para ver a plataforma para a Yourt feita! Bom trabalho.

Hi Marco dank voor het meedenken . Nee, het apparaat staat gewoon binnen. De benzine was een maand geleden gevuld van een tank die nog niet zolang geleden ververst was. Wat is oude benzine? Hoe lang kan het staan?
@@biondaeliza7751 Benzine kan wel paar maand overleven maar beter is 98 te tanken als dat voorhanden is.minder ethanol.
ethanol trekt vocht aan uit de lucht.
De bougie slaat zwart dat duid op rijk mengsel dus veel benzine weinig lucht.
de bougie is niet kapot immers hij loopt even dus je hebt een vonk bougie beetje schoonboenen en het zwarte eraf is goed.
is er niet een veer losgeschoten bij de carb.?
Als je hem start bij 1.20 min zie ik een moertje met klein gaatje heel hard rondtollen.
They do overheat don't run them for more then 15 min, don't put to big branches in, not carburettor as it would be spluttering so not flooded or clogged Def think might be your spark plug check for moisture take it out dry it.
There are some helpful tips! Thanks. It is not flooded, it happened while I was working, now it stops even before I can work. We are going to buy a new spark plug, we see that most of the time it is the reason for machines to stop. I usually only fill one wheelbarrow, that takes about 20 min. The branches are small, the max is 100mm.
is it not 2 stroke? as in you need to add oil to fuel at right mixture? or is done automatically?

No, it is 4 stroke. The oil level is good. So no need to premix. We have other machines on our land that does require that. We have made a list on what needs 98 mix 95 mix or without mix. Also our jerrycans are labelled 😊
There is something stopping the rotator
We thought so too, but nothing is in there and it can rotate. We checked the V-string and all looks good. Is there more we can check on this issue? If you know it would be helpful! Thanks 😊
Chek the level of oil if is low the engine stop end air filter
Thanks, we have and all is clean/filled as should. Also carburettor is checked. Spark plug is now the only thing that is the most abnormal to the machine.
