I’m in and out of zone 3 due to elevation chance in my area. I’d be running 10-1030 per mile if stayed in zone 2. Zone 3 running seems to be where I’m comfortable at for most of my runs out side of speed work/tempo runs.

What shoes do you wear for your zone 3 runs?
Same as my speed workout shoes! Something with a carbon plate
This is called pyramidal training and it’s also widely accepted for endurance athletes training. Best of luck in Tokyo
What watch are you using to measure your heart rate and pace?
I use the Coros Pace Pro and the Coros external HR monitor
