jorgepeterbarton while I disagree with your middle class comment I think the actor playing the doctor should stay British because well it’s a British show and originally a British icon so it’s an unofficial tradition.
The Doctor needs to be kind, smart, funny, sad, energetic, impetuous, willful, distractible, disdainful of authority, angry at injustice, fierce in defending the preservation of life and the rights of the underdog, and desperately hungry for friendship. If the 13th Doctor is all of those things, I think the show is going to be fine.

Alas. I do still genuinely believe Jodie is capable of being a good doctor though - I really firmly believe it's the writing holding everything back. The new writing is not engaging, bland, missing continuity, a bit rushed feeling sometimes and I think that's a shame.
I think the writing got better during season 12, and it was a lot more engaging, and the characters (especially the Doctor) showed actual emotion and turmoil. @@_GalKestis_ Better writing? If anything, it was mediocre, and nothing of a step up. Series 11 had two stories held to a decent regard - those being Rosa and Kerblam! - while Series 12 was a just a mess… Besides the Haunting of Villa Diodati (and MAYBE Nikola Tesla’s Night of Terror), the rest were pretty bad. Orphan 55 was a shit on Doctor Who, and while Spyfall was ok, everything outside of Sacha Dhawan’s Master was unentertaining. But of course that’s just my - and majority of real Doctor Who fans (literally anybody who has been watching before Series 11, honestly)’s - opinions. I’m not gonna stand here and say it’s gospel, but you can’t deny the facts. Flux was a step in the right direction, and Eve of the Daleks was welcomed, but Jodie’s run has been tarnished by some of the worst writing since Colin and Sylvester’s eras, and some of Capaldi’s…
One thing I was waiting to hear was the Angle the Doctor would be played from. That was the Love for Life angle. Since Eccleston the Doctor has been going through various stages of Trauma recovery, each regeneration the character was further along, more healed from his Actions as the War Doctor at the end of the Time War. This is important for me as a 44 year old fan I've been watching since I was two, dealing with depression, anxiety and PTSD from a decade of extensive childhood physical, sexual and mental abuse...the Doctor became my favorite hero. Every regeneration has given me something to hold onto that keeps me from hurting myself. A problem I've been facing since kindergarten, and thanks to this show and this character and these companions, I'm Still Here. For the Doctor to have found a New appreciation for life, having come through her own process of healing, to see that...gives me Hope that I can do the Same thing and find my own love for life.
Personally, I think she might be something fresh that the franchise needs right now. It'll be good to see them completely try something new. I'm reserving judgements until i see it is all i'm sayin.
River Song is amazing. Even if there is just one scene, where the doctor is sitting in Rivers class at the university and keep stalking her secretly or correcting her silently
Won’t lie BBC. It’s very shady of you to put MrTardisReviews in this video considering you guys are constantly copyright striking his videos without any valid reason.....
Extremely helpful for everyone to see the Doctor Who team at a comic con - I think it puts a lot of fans at ease to see them and interact with them as people and look forward to the series with less trepidation now.
Doctor who is a British show. I’m a bit pissed off that we didn’t have all of this, before America! But it is great to see her. Not sure about having 3 companions!, though!
Rewind all the way back to the very first Doctor who. There was 3 companions and it worked well, albeit obviously completely different to the newer series since the reboot!
Those stories had multiple parts to them, either 4 25 minute episodes or longer, there was more time for each companion to shine in each episode. This new series has 10 50 minute stories. Its a fair concern to have, all the companions might not all get the opportune time to shine
Yes, but the BBC is taxpayer-funded, so their trip to SDCC to put this panel on for an exclusively American audience was paid for by the British taxpayer. Not that I'm up in arms about it, but it's a fact. I can understand why some people would find it odd or even inappropriate.
Michael McGrath Moral superiority? Not trying for moral superiority mate. Just pointing out that change is an important facet of the show, and without it, the show would have died with William Hartnell. When Patrick Troughtom became the Doctor, people thought it would never work. When Matt Smith was the Doctor, people thought he could never pull it off because he was too young. I've heard some criticized Chris Eccleston because he was a northerner. People absolutely despised Capaldi because he was too old. All of this, before any of them had their first scene. The idea of a Time Lord changing gender didn't start with Moffat or Chibnall. Tom Baker himself mentioned the idea in the 1980s. And even if that didn't happen, Moffat made it canon with the Master, the Corsair, and the General. Look, I'm not saying you HAVE to like her as the Doctor. But judging her before she's even reached the screen is impossible to do. Wait to see her in action, then get back to me. (Also, calling Colin Baker the worst Doctor is highly subjective. I happen to have very much enjoyed his run in the show, and his audios are just brilliant. There are a bunch on Spotify for free- I highly recommend you check them out.)
Colin Baker is objectively the worst Doctor. His tenure saw the worst ratings in the shows history, and his incarnation remains to this day the most disliked in the history of the show. This was largely down to the writing during his tenure, but Colin Baker has done little to endear himself to the fans. In fact, he seems to delight in provoking them to dislike him more.
Alec Fane Art is always subjective. Ratings aren't everything. I liked Colin because his Doctor was witty, brash, and sarcastic, and the Trial series sticks in my mind as one of my favorite arcs. Also, despite being mistreated by the higher ups at the BBC during his tenure (his departure had more to do with a personal disagreement with a writer than the ratings) he still continues to go to conventions and interact with fans on Twitter, so I'm not sure where you're getting that he doesn't "endear himself" to us. He did Fiveish Doctors Reboot, and he's done countless Big Finish audios that really fleshed out his Doctor in ways that the writing of his era couldn't achieve. He's done nothing but support the show as they go through this creative change. (TLDR, it is your opinion which you are entitled to have that you do not like Colin Baker as the Doctor. But that is a subjective opinion, and mine is that I quite enjoyed him in his work on the show.)
Ryan is about to be one of the coolest companions yet, for so long I've wanted a full time companion(not counting Rigzy) who spoke like a typical London road man, this is great!
OMG! Amazing! Great to see DW YT channel uploading this. They don't usually upload these. Have to watch on other channels. Thank you for being here for the fans! :)

Never been to comic con, and I'm 18! then again, I live on the east part of the world XD Hope to go to Europe someday Go to America, Great Britain, and more :D
@Michael McGrath are you serious? Some of the best national parks and the cultural powerhouse of the 20th and 21st century? How can you claim USA isn't worth the trip.
I must admit... I was originally quite reluctant about the idea of a woman doing the part of the Doctor. Then I saw the leaked clip and now I'm at least warming up to the idea of the Doctor being female. And seeing Jodie's charisma on stage at SDCC has got me hopeful, that she will do a brilliant job. If anything, the whole Missy storyline has proven, that it IS possible to pull off a gender switch in the world of Doctor Who. I'm one of the (I assume) few, who loved the Missy character more than the original male Master.
We have Comic Con in London at the Excel Centre, which I think is around May time usually...I've never been, but I've been near the arena when it's on. We also have other conventions throughout the year, but I don't know much about them.

For the Doctor to have found a New appreciation for life, having come through her own process of healing, to see that...gives me Hope that I can do the Same thing and find my own love for life.
aaaa! The welcome video was a succsess! So glad to see friends in it!!
Tosin Cole is so down to earth.
WILBERT ALMODOVAR because of pay?
Stuart Miller no because of personality it isn’t difficult to deduce.
Personally, I think she might be something fresh that the franchise needs right now. It'll be good to see them completely try something new. I'm reserving judgements until i see it is all i'm sayin.
The doctor should look into the mirror and just say, “I’m still not ginger!”
Remember this comment when she says she’s a woman
Thanks for uploading full version
Any storyline with River Song should be interesting
Ken McCarty River is dead. Get over it.
Think for a minute...
Ken McCarty well River is dead so it’ll be hard to work around that
Are you guys for real, or just trolling? I can't tell! I've thought about this concept too, would be interesting!
River Song is amazing. Even if there is just one scene, where the doctor is sitting in Rivers class at the university and keep stalking her secretly or correcting her silently
Thank's for uploading this.Loved it.The new series will be amazing.
Okay this is a very strange feeling, I am already in love with the thirteenth Doctor. I am so excited for this series to begin!
Excited for the new doctor, its been a long time i felt like this for doctor who
Thank you BBC
glad i was able to see this thanks for uploading it
Won’t lie BBC. It’s very shady of you to put MrTardisReviews in this video considering you guys are constantly copyright striking his videos without any valid reason.....
ITS JODIE WHITTAKER I can’t wait to see what she brings to Doctor Who
Scott Cawthon if you hate her so much why are you here?
Alex Silverwood To lament it's passing.
Max’sWorld torture
At best, 10 more years.
At worst, temporary cancellation.
Alex Silverwood you think I hate her? On the contrary. How could anyone hate her?
Can’t wait for the new series
ducks are cool not sure but probably in August or September
Why?
Stuart Miller because it’s a show that’s cool I mean you question it yet you have it as your wallpaper ... yeah ok manic depressive.
Oh my god thank you for this video!
Woah! Glad I can see this!
Thank you for taking time out of your schedule to go to SDCC
I would honestly marry her
Fulux Gaming too late she’s taken I get you’re joking if you mean Jodie.
Quiet Demon haha yeah
Extremely helpful for everyone to see the Doctor Who team at a comic con - I think it puts a lot of fans at ease to see them and interact with them as people and look forward to the series with less trepidation now.
shes blonde i can cosplay her! i felt that.
WOW WHEN THE DOCTOR WHO CHANNEL PULLS THROUGH AND UPLOADS THIS
I don't know Brad but that little clip of him made me love him forever.
He was also in Sarah-Jane Adventures as Spellman
@@mrcritical6751 That episode terrified me as a kid
The opening with the guy in the Forrest creeped me out other than that the episode was pretty solid
@@mrcritical6751 Just need a new TV Torchwood series for him to be in all 3.
Been looking forward to seeing the panel for dr who
Her sonic screwdriver looks like Count Dooku's lightsaber
Ryan Garner hmmm, yeah...I can't unsee that now
More like a vibrater...
Stuart Miller you spelt it incorrectly.
sonic vibrator or sonic tampon
Give me series 11 now!!!!
Doctor who Productions I just need to find a police box and unlock it and hope I can get to October...
Doctor who Productions no.
Doctor who....who???? What
Still no don't forget to subscribe =`{
But we already have.... and we will have... in all timelines.
Peter said it on the previous vid.
They need to add Jodie. I seriously could listen to that Yorkshire accent all damn day.
Amen. Big up the North of England :)
we have one now! at the end of trailer 2
I camped out all night for the 50th anniversary Hall H line.
Michael McGrath Biggest fanbase.
Michael McGrath I mean actors coming to SDCC, its not like theres a big fanbase or something.
@@MichaelM28 well then tell the UK to make a huge convention like SDCC and then you'll have your exclusives
So much potential and they bottled it.
This is what I shall watch all day
cant wait till the season starts.. THANKS so much for uploading this
Bradley is the real player he stayed back and kept working
I think all their "where would you go in time" answers would make one amazing episode, especially if the team was chasing the Master through time!
OMG LOVE YOU SO MUCH!
Well, this didn't age well.
Yayy, thanks for the upload!
There is a Comic-con for doctor who?!
*Mum! I know what I want for Christmas!*
So awesome. What a great cast and crew. I can't wait until the adventure begins.
not gonna lie, I wish this was 13's style
Pretty much every outfit I’ve seen Jodie doing press in I’ve thought would be a better look for 13 than what she got
What you on about ? Been shown in America for a LONG time. It's was always big in the UK, I grew up with Tom baker, Peter Davison doctors.
And don't forget Adric, Nyssa and Teagan with Peter Davison.
"Change, my dear. And not a moment too soon. She IS the Doctor, whether you like it or not!"
CaeciliusEstInHorto damn sure had the worst costume!😂
Pyro91 Haha, that's for sure! Poor Colin never had that in mind when he pictured his costume xD
Amazing panel. Amazing cast. Amazing Doctor. She'll be great
Ryan is about to be one of the coolest companions yet, for so long I've wanted a full time companion(not counting Rigzy) who spoke like a typical London road man, this is great!
…. The character’s from Sheffield…
OMG! Amazing! Great to see DW YT channel uploading this. They don't usually upload these. Have to watch on other channels. Thank you for being here for the fans! :)
If I were any of these actors, I'd be pissed off at the writer(s), by now.
wes alker here’s a crazy thought, maybe they like the writing. Because, they have, you know, their own opinions...
thanks for uploading awesome
We love Jodie ❤
The Doctor is here.
Matthew Lo to destory the show...
Stuart Miller wow you really can’t spell ok now I know you’re at least 10 years old.
I don't know about you, but I don't hear actors thank their fans often enough. I'm glad it was said to kind of wrap up this video.
This just makes me so happy! I just love the cast already and I'm really excited to see the story as it comes... this is just going to be an amazing season❤❤❤
She is so GORGEOUS!!!
Only time I knew the audience was awake was when the trailer was shown and when the button lady introduced herself 😐
Never been to comic con, and I'm 18!
then again, I live on the east part of the world XD
Hope to go to Europe someday
Go to America, Great Britain, and more :D
Azizul Adnan UK is great but it’s the opposite side of the ocean from America
America is well worth the trip as well though
Hope to go there someday in the future.
Azizul Adnan

@Michael McGrath are you serious? Some of the best national parks and the cultural powerhouse of the 20th and 21st century? How can you claim USA isn't worth the trip.
Great panel lead by a great host. Please ask SDCC to get better camera people next year! :p
Thanks for upload this i wish to see this i wondering to see doctor who
This is gonna be awesome.
Alright, weve finished working on season 11 of doctor who.
Now lets put it on a shelf and start working on season 12
Mike Toth hopefully cancel the show too...
Watching this just makes me super excited to see Jodie as the doctor. Thank you.
I've been subscribing to your channel for a long time. However, please add captions whenever you upload a new video. Thank you!
I love them already! Tosin is hilarious and Jodie is so adorable and funny and my god that Yorkshire voice sounds so sexy.
Im so exited everyone who is exited like this
They look so good together, and they seem such good friends in real life. I’m so excited 💙💙💙 Jodie is going to be fabulous!!!!
Poppy Townend Heyyyy so nice to see you here! (I'm angeliki from whocollege ^ . ^)
The Hair Of Slytherin Hello!! Yes I remember, how are you? :D
Poppy Townend Fine, wbu? ^ . ^
The Hair Of Slytherin I’m good thank you. Just wanting series 11 right now 😂 I’m so excited!
Poppy Townend Saaaame! Especially the leaked scene and the trailer had me screaming😂
13:09 Well, that's obvious...
Do we get any thing like this in UK ?
We have Comic Con in London at the Excel Centre, which I think is around May time usually...I've never been, but I've been near the arena when it's on. We also have other conventions throughout the year, but I don't know much about them.
that black jumpsuit is perfect
Are you kidding, DO WE LIKE DOCTOR WHO? WE LOVE THE DOCTORS......🌹
Thanks! I have a lot of video ideas coming from this.
