The little thing that looks like a broom is a cake tester. Women would buy these and break off one of the pieces of straw and insert into the newly baked cake layer to test for doneness. These were common during the 1930-1940’s. I love your crafts, you are so creative. Our master bath is decorated in coastal decor. Most of the decor is souvenirs from Florida trips or crafts I have created with a coastal flare.

Love everything awesome as always. I'm going on vacation this Sunday to the Jersey shore I can't wait to hit the dollar tree down there. Last year I got some Christmas stuff.
My hubby has been cutting trees on our property to clear a spot (to build, we have 12 acres of woods besides where our house and stuff sits. ) so I told him I want all the scrapes!! Lol! I didn't even need that 10" round wood slice from Walmart! Lol! I'm having him cut me one to see which one I like better to craft with. I want a natural, rough cut one and then one where I seal it. See how they work out! I'll let ya know girl!

I bought my wood slices at craft stores, like Michaels and Joann’s.
The fall tree branch tree is so cute! I did a tree with fall leaves out of those darker colored leaf picks DT has. And a black branch tree out of the big pick branches that look like trees *not the flimsy sparkle one.) And they turned out so good!

Cute DIY's Julie! The mermaid pumpkin came out so cute. I didn't think I would really like it at first, but after you finished it I love it! I really like the leaf tree. So simply, but really pretty. Glad it fell in your yard lol. Fair game. I really really love the ocean glass gem pumpkin. I was just wondering how well the hot glue would hold up glass to glass. I love the tropical cutting board and the décor that you chose to decorate it. I think I have seen those wood rounds at Hobby Lobby but not sure how much they are. Thanks for sharing all your beautiful creations.

I saw some wood slices like the one you got at the thrift store at Hobby Lobby this week. It’s wasn’t as thick as yours.
I found some white burlap ribbon at DG and I'm so excited to use it! I got a mini pumpkin candle as well and it's so cute! Then I also got these bigger metal tag type things that are really cool! I got a maple leaf and a pumpkin one. I wish I had gotten the oak leaf now too!
I love all your crafts. I can’t pick a favorite at all. Just curious if you get a lot of warped boards from DT because I rarely even find one that isn’t and then I won’t buy it therefore I can’t do a much loved craft. How do you fix a warped board??
Yes. I usually inspect them well. Things I do to get around that. I use a lot of their shelves as signs. They are way thicker and they don’t warp. Sometimes I use more than one attaching them together to make it thicker. Also I have noticed that some of the fall signs are thicker which helps. I also like to use their hanging chalkboards. I bought a whole case of wood rounds. And they weren’t warped when I got them but I think the Florida humidity has gotten to them. Maybe heat would help with the warping.
