I was struggling to downpick the riff after the intro, but alternate i could nail it. I felt kinda bad about not downpicking at first but seeing you sound this good with alternate kinds of lifts my spirit. Great playing

Great to hear!
I alternate basically everything, what I try to do is trying to have the same strength both in downstrokes and upstrokes
But in my opinion you have to play how it feels natural for you, for example I couldn't play the first scale of the December Flower solo clean, so I used tapping instead. Is it the way it's supposed to be played? No, but the notes are the same and I manage to play it clean, so I don't care :)
