Resource packer is great with drones, i think you misunderstood the description. The resource packer is on your suit, it doesnt pack the resources on your suit. It combines multiple into 1 carry object which drones can pick up.
To answer the questions asked this run: The tree seed will work with the drones, they can't pick the resources off it but they will fall of on they're own once the next resource grows. The resource packer works great with the drones. It condenses the resources into a single dense clump of resources that the drones can pick up. The drone count upgrades give you a little more than the drone speed upgrades, though the best drone upgrade is the one you can afford. This challenge is a lot of fun though! I did it with the drones and the two-way teleporter personally. I also feel like this challenge is functionally identical to the resource contribution challenge, where you end up playing it much the same way.
Skoottie can you bring back more plate up? I miss you playing with ItsGng and others, your PlateUp series is what introduced me to the game and your cahnnel.
This is one of my favorite challenges and my favorite gadget. BTW SKOOTIE!! You do not need to manually heal your dome if you get the visible inventory upgrade that shows your owned resources. When your health hits 0 it will automatically consume a cobalt to 10% heal.
Best way to evaluate what upgrades are best for drones are capacity per time. If you can make 3 drones that bring 1 per minute, or 2 drones at 2 per minute, the 2 is better. If the cost for a new drone never increased, making 50 drones at 1 per minute is better than 5 drones at 5 per minute. Usually comes down to having more units, so that the speed increase can hit more of them. Capacity is also very valuable once the trip time gets to be bigger and bigger.

Watching you attack your own attack drones while your dome is getting obliterated by the actual enemies is hilarious lol XD
The inventory tracker will also automatically repair your dome so you dont have to focus on your health. Just make sure you have cobalt.

As said by ryan. Pack resources. Drones pick up pack. So instead of 1 resource. Basic pack is 4 in 1. Upgrade 8 in 1.
