Ice and cold water intensifies the heat. I am from that state in India where Naga King Chilly is used as a daily spice in our curries. What we do to counter the heat is we drink something hot, yes it may sound crazy and it burns heavily but the burning sensation doesn't stay long when you drink or eat something hot/warm. Later after the heat dies down you can drink the cold water.
Tea with sugar helps. Also good for your stomach. 😁
You're right...when I was 8 years old, my 9 year old brother talked me into eating a little hot chili. My grandma came into the kitchen when she heard me crying. She took away my glass of cold water and said "Cold won't help, only heat will put out that fire." She made me drink a couple swallows of her hot coffee and it worked, it felt like my head was going to explode with the first swallow, but it stopped the burning. Then my grandma gave my brother and I both a good talking to.
I just let the spice rip through me. I'd drink room temp water if I get thirsty, but I let the spice linger and feel it die down.
Hot water does help. I dont drink it but i rinse my mouth with hot water, as hot as i can handle, it kills the heat right away.
Water makes the burning worse. You want milk or yogurt or ice cream, bread, plain rice something to ease the pain and burning

I love spicy food but I have a severe stomach condition that requires me to have a feeding tube so I can’t really eat like you guys. It’s so nice to see you enjoy the spicy foods that you eat. I look forward to binging through your spicy challenges playlist!

Not ever going to eat reapers but for the 'lesser evils" yall completely went backwards on the afterburn. The heat is cooked into the grease. grease isn't water, milk or the orange stuff soluble. You should have crammed the rice in to scrub the insides of your mouth. After a few mouthfulls then washing it down with water has more benefit. I discovered this decades ago when I was a frequent participant in jalapeno eating contests... Yall did great times. Good luck tomorrow on the exit reburn.
xxx CHOPPER I make a peach mango habebero hot sauce. It’s actually killer on vanilla ice cream. The habenero flavor is my favorite. I don’t even put the actual peppers in so others can eat it. I make a habenero butter by cooking them down in the butter and straining. Gets all the good flavor and lots of heat without scaring the neighbors off my sauces 😂

A couple months ago, I fell asleep at my computer, with my ear buds in. I woke up to Rainai screaming her head off, jumping around and I had no idea what was going on! I almost had a heart attack! I had to come back and watch what I missed. And I have to say, it doesn't look like either of you want to do this one, especially Blaine. You should go with your first instincts.

It never ceases to amaze me that foodies and competitive eats go to water after a super spicy challenge, which is the absolute do not do! The water spreads the capsaicin oils around the mouth, making it worse. Dairy and breads are the best!

they yellow drink they are drinking, for what i think is 99% mango lassi which is a cold yogurt drink which is very sweet which should help, but they truly didn’t give enough water.
Water isn't something you want when eating spicy food like this. The mango lassi and Naan bread were best for the heat.

Ive learned while eating spicy food the last thing you want is cold beverages.. I always rinse my mouth with hot water and it stings really bad then goes away. Try hot drinks instead of cold drinks next time.

You're talking bollocks. capsaicin is soluble in FAT. you need oils whether its full fat milk, cream, or peanut butter... The key is Lipids in whatever form you choose. Sweetness helps cut the pain but not on a chemical level. A bowl of Peanut butter knocked back with Honey is the single best remedy in a pinch.
All I know is I have been able to eat a hot sauce called mad dog 357 & was able to eat the hottest wings from BWW because I rinsed my mouth with hot water every time the heat got to be too much to handle and it helped 🤷😂 I also have Hispanic in laws who love to make spicy food and it helps in those situations as well. Milk has never helped me and idk about PB but I do know not everybody can eat it...

I have done a lot of heat challenges. If you don’t do anything afterwards just let your mouths natural defense kick in and drool over a plate or napkin without swallowing it will rinse the oils away instead of grabbing the same glass with residual oils and particles back into your mouth. lol. But the hardest part of that technique is dealing with the intense pain for those moments your mouth is trying heal itself.

Waters the worst thing to drink after spice because all it does is move the spice around your mouth. The Scoville index is to show how many drops of water it would take to remove the spice.
Milk actually neutralizes the heat. Combine it with saltines and it works wonders.
I learned this because
I have a severe capsaicin allergy, so anything beyond a little bit of table pepper lands me in the hospital.
Raina screams, Blaine shakes, and somehow I think that’s the first thing I want to do when I can travel again 🤣

Hey Raina, the trick to getting rid of the burn in your mouth fast if you don't have dairy is to use hot water to clean your mouth out, as hot as you can handle without burning yourself (yes, it's going to make you want to pee, it's that painful). Swish the hot water around and you'd be surprised by how fast the heat gets washed away. It works, I guarantee it. My Asian wife and I actually prefer this hot water method after eating crazy hot, spicy food. You seem to have a high pain tolerance so give this a try sometime. P.S., the hot water also helps calm stomach pain caused by hot peppers. If you prefer hot tea, same thing. It's the temperature that does the trick.

Ideally that's how it's to be eaten...but considering it's so spicy I doubt that's the way to go. The way they did it is the only way to gulp it down for a chance of a win. If they took their time eating with the Roti/Naan, in that spice level it would have been more hellish lol
@@allyp6289 Dunking the naan would have made eating easier. Imagine the spiciness to be 100% with the bread it'll reduce by atleast 10-15%. Would have been quicker that way.
