I’ve been listening to you for probably around 5 years and I have to say that was one of the most beautiful arrangements you’ve ever done. Thank you so much for that
wonderful, I felt the same emotion when I listened for the first time Davide Santorsola playing 'my favorite things' in 'to bill evans' cd... thank you
Incredibly impressive. While I often admire your ability to play colorfully and energetically, I think softer, more thoughtful covers like this require a deep understanding of the piece and the composers feelings themselves, which you captured perfectly. Great work!
I've heard and played a number of arrangements of this timeless classic over the years -- have to say this is one of the most stunning! Appreciate your work, as always, Jacob Koller.
Thank you, Jacob! Nice rendition! I particularly appreciate that you didn't try to squeeze in every possible note into every possible space with a shoehorn like some do. Allowing notes and chords to hang a bit can be an amazing and soothing sound. I know, sometimes people like Art or Oscar just couldn't help it. LOL! Seriously, slow, sweet melodious... it works.
I’m sure glad you keep doing these I’ve bought quite a few of your arrangements including the book with ‘my favorite things’ in it and they are not only my favorite arrangements to play but one of the only times my father teared up
@@JacobKollerMusic ..and the good news is ... it is not impossible to play even for an average amateur pianist such as myself ! It is going to take weeks of practice to get up to speed ; it is so great to be able to watch the video and slow it down in places . The only problem is the arrangement is so beautiful that I keep having to stop when I play a particularly lovely chord or scale because it just takes my breath away ! Hope for more pieces in this genre , thanks again for making the sheet music available .
Gershwin wrote "Someone watch over me" song in 1926 and Ellington wrote "In a Sentimental mood" in 1935. However, Ellington's song has very similar or very identical to the first seven notes of Gershwin' refrain. Both G. Nevertheless both G.Gershwin and D. Ellington are the greatest musicians!
There’s countless examples of composers borrowing components of other songs but that doesn’t mean they didn’t compose the song. Jobim uses Billy Strayhorn’s changes to A Train on many of his tunes including Ipanema. Youre welcome to your opinion on what is copyright infringement but legally speaking Duke Ellington wrote this song as Jobim wrote Ipanema.
I was so worried that you weren’t posting up as many videos as you were before! I truly LOVE your arrangements, they resparked my love for playing piano. I’d love to see some arrangements on Disney songs (your some day my prince will come is one of my favorites!) and maybe some of more recent pop songs (maybe you might not be enjoying them but I think it might help make your channel grow more). Suggestions aside, I play your arrangements of Amazing Grace at least every once or twice a week (though not as well as you) and it is such a delight to play. Thank you and please keep arranging music for us!!💖

This song .. this arrangement in particular .. is like musical opium. It just chills you TF out no matter how hyper you were.

Beautiful rendering AND respectful of the original Duke's score..👏👏👏👏👏

Well, now I am in a sentimental mood 😀
Thank you!
Beautiful...
As good as ever Jacob. Beautiful piano tone too. Would be great with brushes and bass
Yeah that would be nice!
Beautiful!!! Please can someone tell me the name of the ending song?
It’s my original called Jazz Piano Meguri
@@JacobKollerMusic beautiful piece jacob! Beautiful 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
The composer of this song is G. Gershwin. Duke Ellington made a nice jazz arraignment and it is true.
I think you’re mistaken on this. Duke Ellington is the composer of this piece.
@@JacobKollerMusic I just listened again to "Someone to Watch Over Me/ In a Sentimental Mood. by Gershwin...
Someone to watch over me is by Gershwin but in a sentimental mood is by Ellington.
