I been using this method to remove backgrounds for years. While it is not foolproof, it is a step in the right direction. Combing the magic wand with the newer tools, is a huge step in isolating the elements I need for my projects. Thanks for sharing.
Yes the magic wand tool isn’t perfect but a quick and easy option for simple backgrounds like this. I find it struggles near hair and complex edges as I’m sure youve experienced too. Just one of many options in the arsenal of selection tools to use! Thanks for the comment 🙌🏻
That best way to cut out a black logo from a white background is to simply ctrl + click on the thumbnail of one of the RGB channels. This will give you a perfect selection better than what you would get with the magic wand tool or any other method. Then just invert the selection and fill it with black.
This is great, thank you. I basically knew how to use the magic wand tool, but I did not know about deselecting the contiguous pixel option, and that made all the difference.
I prefer recommending this method since the majority of people I've worked with one on one find blend if extremely confusing to begin with. However you're totally right and blend if would work great with a high contrast image for white background removal. As with all things Photoshop, I am just recommending one or two of what are usually multiple options to achieve the same result. Neither is right or wrong (as long as you're getting the same result) and you should use whatever suits your workflow 😄
@BrendanWilliamsTutorials Totally agree man. As with anything related to photoshop I go in with the mindset "there are probably 20,000 ways to accomplish the same thing." Have a great holiday man!
