•Wirtual has watch party for Scrabble Nationals finals •Best finals match of all time immediately occurs Coincidence? This was so fun. Thanks for having me on!
This is honestly the kind of thing I'd love to see more of from wirtual, just him sharing his other interests. Could be something like this or just something as simple as him playing other games he enjoys.
Randomly finds this cool chill TH-cam channel that plays this cool looking car game called trackmania. End up spending wayyy to much time binge watching his videos, finally subscribe… Immediately posts an hour long video of a scrabble game. We in peak hours ladies and gentlemen.
I remember watching this live. It was in the middle of the workday, so I had to mute it a couple times, but it was actually pretty thrilling to watch Wirtual, Will, and chat try to find the best moves, and then when those moves got played it felt like vindication.
For all the trollers here, you do not understand what this shows about Wirtual - It shows that he's human like the rest of us, he has other interests and it is amazing that he shows it, Like look at his smile in the intro - he is genuinely so Excited to share his interests with us - Everyone should support that.
Wirtual is a content creator, not your friend. You don't have to support anything. It's cool that he's trying out different stuff and I hope it pays off for him, but if he starts posting videos I'm not interested in I'll stop watching. I'm not saying this about this video specifically, I've yet to see if I like it or not.
i mean its fine if ur here for trackmania and dont want to watch other games, but hating on it is absolute bullshit. at some point most content creators try some variety, and maybe with TMGL not existing anymore he doesnt want to put the next 10 years into hopingthat trackmania stays so popular.
Actually brilliant commentary, I would never have appreciated that match without the play-by-play possibilities being offered, but it was actually super exciting with it
Scrabble is surprisingly engaging. The commentators were also a big part of why this video was so good! I really liked that both players also discussed their final moves with each other. No bad blood, no needless ego, just good sportsmanship! I really hope more people will give this video a chance and watch it, totally worth it!
A clear showcase that it is about how you present something and not about what is presented. I did not care a single bit about scabble but it got so tense that I paused my game and watched it on the main screen. GG
I loved this video. IK some people just want trackmania, but it feels like the same offshoot as chess: there are a billion openings and different lines to memorize and you have to react to your opponent. It feels perfectly on brand for this channel to me. The match was super fun to watch as well, great content.
About to watch but this match probably can't compete with Marlon Hill vs Ben Schoenbrun where the game ended with both players having a negative score. The story of that game lives rent free in my head
Actually... That was pretty legit! Mac made some amazing plays and did a great job controlling the board. It's hard to imagine the kind of pressure you would feel in that kind of situation. Even a moment of brainblock would be the end. Especially when the last game came down to just over 20 seconds!
So, you need to check out stories about a player named Nigel Richards. Other top players have a very, very good knowledge of the valid 2-8 letter words. Nigel, however, has an eidetic memory, meaning perfect recall. Of all the words regardless of length. He also won the French Scrabble championship twice. He doesn't speak French, at all. He first looked at the French word list for about 30 minutes, two weeks before he won his first French title.
He is reported to have studied the French dictionary for 9 weeks prior to the win. Still a pretty superhuman feat that the average person probably couldn't do given an infinite amount of time but I don't think he has truly perfect recall, just insanely good recall and likely some obsessive study habits.
@@user-on6uf6om7s we're pretty sure he has perfect recall in the competitive scene, he has NEVER made a word knowledge mistake. He's mentioned that on his lengthy bike rides, he pictures the pages of the dictionary in his head
@@mattcanikThe best part is his ridiculous end-game accuracy, beating out the current best engine by a mile, let alone when compared to the rest of the top players. That and how everyone simply trusts that the words he plays are correct because he never tries to bluff.
Let’s just acknowledge that like a top tier scrabble player not only watched the competition with Wirtual BUT ALSO COMMENTATED WITH HIM. Wirtual either is just a great guy or has the ultimate plot armor for commentating
ok clicked on this cuz i was like... something cool must be up for this to be a video, fkin scrabble of all things? definitely not disappointed, was tense sometimes for sure with that tripple point play being so close, and then the time crunches at the end, actually crazy that these ppl are so strategic and know all these words :o big gz to the winner! almost making me want to play it too ^^"
The story of the man who learned every word in the French dictionary to win a French scrabble tournament, despite speaking absolutely no French, will always be on of the biggest chad moves in scrabble history.
Yo thanks so much for the shoutout and this awesome recap, really appreciate it!!
CONGRATULATIONS! Nailbiting finals!

What a team up. Sick!
”guys, I’ve been working on a script for weeks the next documentary will be insane”
the documentary:
Bro went from chess to scrabble
@@ruben7420 Next word he's gonna do is checkmate

scrabble is insane though

Will played SCRAPIE against me in 2019. Legend has it that a Trackmania player saw that game and decided to honour him by changing his name
E
Really unexpected how entertaining this video was. The commentary between Wirt and Will was so great in explaining the match as it went down.
Randomly finds this cool chill TH-cam channel that plays this cool looking car game called trackmania. End up spending wayyy to much time binge watching his videos, finally subscribe… Immediately posts an hour long video of a scrabble game. We in peak hours ladies and gentlemen.
and the best part is that we dont play either of those games
Wirtual and Scrabble are two things I didn't realise I needed together.
Like the floor and mayonnaise.

@@Sebsiny Bro 💀
@@Sebsiny I mean, Wirtual references it in the video so I imagine you are not

Thank you for bringing attention to Scrabble and our community. This is great!
This new Trackmania gamemode is really unique
It's better than Stunt.

Not only do we have Scrabble but we also got Will Anderson. The collab we didn't know we needed.
Actually brilliant commentary, I would never have appreciated that match without the play-by-play possibilities being offered, but it was actually super exciting with it

Please do more of these, this was really fun and I was glued to my chair the whole time.

Great video! Always a treat to see a content creator experimenting with the focus of a video out of their comfort zone/typical routine.
Im so glad Wirtual has realised he has a fan base who love all his little side passions too like pyramids, chess and Scrabble not just trackmania
the riolu reference caught me offguard
Wirtual is such a great story teller I'm watching a scrabble game on youtube. What a man.
I love the trackmania, Mario 64, scrabble, pyramids, etc. I love the variety.
I didn’t think I’d be watching an hour of scrabble today but here I am
I love that you’re just vibing doing things you love rn wirt, keep it up
Ok now that I’ve finally watched it, the scrabble video was fire actually
Watching scrable at a party is such a funny but oddly relaxing idea
Really enjoyed watching this live. It's great just to see someone who's enthusiastic about something they are interested in. Thanks for the fun!
this upload will put me to sleep for generations to come over a cotd vod. my sincere thanks to you.

I'm all for the Wirtual Scrabble arc. Now we just need Will Anderson playing Random Map Challenge.
Or bingo.
Its funny how wirtual is just such a enjoyable content creator to watch that he can post anything and people will watch
After talking about it a long time ago, we finally get the scrabble commentary of a championship finals and what a match. Really fun to watch.
This stream was so fun, glad others can experience it in video form!
You were a fantastic co caster and asked so many good questions. Nice job wirty!
More Wirtual Scrabble videos are required.
wirtual also fell into the will anderson hole i see, a good one :)
I love that seconds after winning the championship, the two players are discussing moves
I never expected Scrabble to be that entertaining
Finally some more scrabble content🎉🎉🎉
So my youtube recommendation for Will Anderson is actually from you. Neat

what a sick video, i watched the whole thing and was engaged the whole time
would love to see more variety stuff from wirtual if its like this 🙏

That was far more entertaining than I anticipated
This was like watching Chess, but I could actually keep up with what was happening 😅
these different videos are super cool every now and then between the trackmania content
never thought scrabble would be an edge of your seat competitive game, but here i am

Love scrabble, kinda thought the games with Will a while ago were just a one time thing, but definitely happy to see more
For anyone not "getting" this content, watch the documentary Word Wars. It's amazing. It is to Scrabble what The King Of Kong was to Donkey Kong
Also the book ‘Word Freak’ by Stefan Fatsis

Would love to see Will or Wirtual playing Merriam Webster's Blossom webgame, scrabble skills should make you really good at it!
captainsparklez becomes a trackmania streamer and wirtual becomes a scrabble streamer... What a time to be alive!
Bro is experimenting with the algorithm 😅😅😅
Wirtual's game arc has gone from trackmania, to chess, to scrabble now. Next up, he's going to become a member of his local bingo club...
Duuuude! Now i want a Trackmania Map cup looking like a Giant Scrabble Boards xD
A channel deviating from its main content is always a welcome sight.
Wirtual could commentate grass growing and id still watch it.
You should go to the Geoguessr world cup in Sweden this September ❤
That Riolu joke was SLICK AS HELL
48:30 Actually in French, we don't call it a "bingo", we call it a "scrabble"! It's already the case in French ;-)
As soon as I saw the title I knew he found out about Will Anderson.
If I ever see skibity in scrabble I’m gonna move to a hut in the middle of the woods
"ooh look a new wirtual vid!!!"
*realizes its 1 hrs long*👁👄👁
we need a "More Wirtual" channel for different types of videos

Actually we call a bingo a SCRABBLE in French!
Aww man, I missed the Scrabble championships? I know I suck at the game, but I didn't hear about it at all.
Not a single word!
I really though youtube had a bug and showed Will Anderson on wirtuals channel for a sec
wirtual scrabble arc woooo
I would love for this to become a regular thing 👍

The Riolu burn broke me. I fully support a switch from Trackmania to Scrabble commentator.
