The center console trim from the C Class W205 came from the factory in black gloss, the best solution is to wrap the center console with a paint protection film after you buy the car. If you don't do that your center console will Look like the one from my video, full of scratches. You can also polish the center console to remove the scratches, I took the decision to wrap it with a carbon vinyl wrap to give it a better look.

Normally I don't like carbon wrapping foil - but this solution is way better than the original
Luckily I optioned the carbon fiber when I bought the C43, Piano black is an absolute no-go!

Yeah, I’ve had my E300 for almost 4 years and am exhausted with the piano black Center but love the Ash grain wood on my doors. Definitely going to get this done ASAP.

Thanks! Used your E-class video in order to perform it on my C class. Definitely a lot harder with the bigger center piece.
Since it was my first time wrapping, it isn't perfect on the passenger side, but it'll do for now :)
Pro tip for other first timers: do indeed cut out the holes nice and tidy, if you leave some leftover and think 'it will just be wedged in between the controls', the controls push the wrap up a bit, creating bubbles.
Don't forget to post heat the corners where you stretched the vinyl

@@wahpanda1520 It scratches easily and looks like ass after a couple of years. I had no choice but to get it for my C and E Class because back then there was no other option. And I had constantly finger prints. Dust is very visible and if you clean it there is microscratches everywhere from the cloth after a while. Its a horrible choice. In the beginning I also liked it, but by the time I got another mercedes I hated it.

Exactly. The biggest fail since the invention of car interiors 🤦🏼♂️ Looks like crap basically the second you start using the car. Super senstive surface and absolutely useless in a vehicle.
Might have to do this for my Q8. All that piano black drives me crazy sometimes.

You just cut the vinyl around the hole instead of wrapping it inward. Is that ok??? It won't lift up?

the silver lining around the cup holder area that has the lid has peeled slightly on one of the corners, is there a way to replace that? Do you know what that material is called? I'm pretty sure it's not vinyl, would reeeeeeeally appreciate some help as it's driving me crazy!

The air vents have strong metal tabs, you need to push one or two and also push the airvent from inside to outside in the same time

Hi, what product would you recommend to polish the plastic and remove the scratches?
If there are micro scratches you can polish them with a plastic polish from sonax or other brand. It will work just for micro scratches. If you have big scratches like scratches that you can feel them with your nails you need to put vinyl over them like I did in this video.

How does the wrap hold up against 100F+ heat? Will it come undone or bubble up?
I’m in Europe here we use Celsius to measure the temperature. There are 100C degrees not F

The wrap usually takes like 100 Celsius degrees for a few seconds. But depends what quality is the vinyl

Great video. Looking at the console it might have been possible to cover without removing from the car and stripping out? You wouldn't get such a perfect job of course, but think you could make a good job with a steady hand. Only reason I mention it is because the more stuff you strip the more chance of breaking a clip or trim. Or finding something doesn't work when you put it back in.
English Cad They’re just panels man. lol. why are you so scared?? If you’ve never removed panels just look up your car model and watch a video on how to use a panel remover tool.
@@-solo5003 some clips are hard to find and can be expensive. My main point being if once reassembled something doesn't work it means you have to start over.

wrong move. i just reverted to paint, black and clear cot my x5 m console its looks way better now .the old one was tearing as hell all over.then i apply carbon wrap and its terrible in so many ways.no offence just saying .never go back to wrap again.
And then they say that Merc is more premium even at standard level than F30 for example. Well obviously thats not the case because there is not scrathing plastic in BMW dashboard

One thing you all seem to forget with wrapping. If you drop something on it , like you dropped on the plastic gloss. It’s a tear not scratched. Wrapping is a waist of money. Don’t get me wrong the guy that did the wrapping did an awesome job. It’s just not worth it.
