- This is an easy tutorial on how to flip your mirrors on a sportster. Just be sure to have good clearance between the mirrors and the tank. This simple mod makes a huge difference on visibility since your shoulders are not blocking your rearview.

Thanks for showing the turn signal connector up close. I want to do this with my 1200 but wasn’t sure how to get around the turn signal on the right. Make sense now since it’s a ball connector.

Thank you. I have a 1200 Iron and always wanted to do this but I thought the turn signals were in the way. I didn’t think to temporarily remove them...
I did this on my 2022 and my right side is cherry but i can't get the left to a good position. the mirror won't fold in any further and i can't see anything. any advice?
Advice, its hard to do on the 2022. The throttle side signal is hard to get back in and you really gotta crank the mirrors to get a good line of sight. It does work but not as easy as ither years. And on the theottle side you gotta split the throttle cords for it to work.

Hi. Where did you get your rear seat? Does it scratch the fender? Any scratches when you take it off?
This did not work on my 05 sportster but it has the bigger tank my mirrors hit the tank sadly :( but awesome video man very easy to follow along!
Uff that sucks but you can buy small mirrors that will fit
I tried this and my mirrors touched the tank.Do you have to take the blinker lights loose?

I did this a few yrs ago and loved the new position... until it scratched the paint off the gas tank. I have tried everything to mount them without scratching and so far I bent the mirror bracket on the right mirror and working but on the left ... no go... still at it.
What handle bars do you have?

have 2021, it's impossible to flipping the mirror without hitting the tank. I can set it not hit the tank but then I cannot see anything but my legs lol so sad

Hey I was hoping you could tell me where you got the matching passenger seat for your sportster. My 2022 has a main seat in the same style but I can't find one that matches for the rear. Also great video! Helped me a lot

Anyone know any simple mods to do this on a non sportsters? Eg Yamaha fazer, susuki bandit type bike? I’ve never seen it done but would have a crack at it if anyone can think of something I can do or even if there’s clip on mirrors to buy. Cheers.

I have an 03 883 and I’m think of doing the same. Problem is I believe my setup is different, I believe one of my mirrors goes straight into one of my lights.
It does it have a 99' and your can't simply swap them.
Do riders find having the mirrors facing downward easier, or is this just cosmetic?
It’s easier to see, in the upwards configuration, your shoulders can get in the way when looking in the mirrors, when flipped down like that, you look right past your torso instead

@@joshovthedead I see where the turn signals have to be turned up just a bit. Mine are fine now.
@@SB-mw1bg any suggestions on how to turn them up? I got both the mirror and turn signal in but now the signal is wiggling quite a bit

I just left the Harley dealer with my new 2020 883. They said it's impossible to flip the stock mirrors where they don't hit the tank. How is this possible? I mean they are the dealer but yet you can do it? Can you please tell me how? Is it different on a 2020? Please advise! Thank you!
Right, something is different in 2020 model (I have one), dealer told me the same thing about the tank; I didn't believe and tried my self and yes... they hit the tank
I have a 2021 and they certainly hit the tank .. you can set them so they don’t but then you can’t see anything behind you given the angle … I tried all different kinds of ways and I can’t make it work.. let me know if anyone figures out a way though please..

Will the Mirrors come anywhere near the tank after flipping?
It'll hit your gas tank and scratch it if your turn the handle bar all the way to the left or right. The only way you can avoid this is, if you have a handle bar risers already installed.

FYI, it's gonna be a bear but it'll work. Look at my other post to see how I did it. Its not as easy as other years but it works with rhe stock mirrors. Throttle side is hardest.

This mod does not work with the new 2022 models. The signals are in the way and won’t let you mount them just for future reference if anyone comes to this video
It does but it takes work. I did it yesterday. Took me way longer than I thought but I got it. You gotta take signals out and the throttle side is really hard to set the signal back.
everyone talking about them hitting the tank/legs, just tighten them further out and they literally won’t touch you or the bike itself..

Sorry but I did that and I'll tell you it is not smart at all.. you cannot see and see the road at the same time.. I drive on Florida road and the highways so it's thick traffic and ain't nothing worse than looking down to the right or looking down to the left to see if you can turn while you have cars in front of you.. The point of your side mirrors on top is to be in your view of site while you look straight you can glance to the right or left not taking your whole eye sight off of the road.. Yes it look cool but safety-wise not a wise idea
