Bruno has, for sure. Though his releases are actually more sporadic than the standard artist. And to an extent Paak, although he’s been more under the radar (and we’ll ignore the majority of Oxnard). But together, and in this entire album, they both bring a certain mix of soul, funk, R&B, rap, and just hit after hit. I personally can’t get enough of this duo. Hope they choose to keep it going.

This is album is a perfect blend of 70s, musicianship, Motown showmanship, cleverness, emotion and tongue n cheek comedy all tied together with lyrics depicting the urban society of today (but certainly not as rude as much of hip-hop). Yeah I hate how people say they prefer the Bruno that released basic mainstream music. Don't get me wrong his older songs are decent but they aren't as musically complicated compared to his recent tracks. Like even the drum fills alone in the silk sonic tracks. And I prefer that he releases throwbacks because it sets him apart from the other singers.

He's been releasing music like this for the past decade, no?
Bruno has, for sure.
Though his releases are actually more sporadic than the standard artist.
And to an extent Paak, although he’s been more under the radar (and we’ll ignore the majority of Oxnard).
But together, and in this entire album, they both bring a certain mix of soul, funk, R&B, rap, and just hit after hit.
I personally can’t get enough of this duo.
Hope they choose to keep it going.

i actually met his uncle in hawaii and asked him about this. he said that bruno really cares about the quality of the music more then anything, so he’ll work on a single song for multiple months before making the next one and that’s why he doesn’t frequently release stuff!

This is album is a perfect blend of 70s, musicianship, Motown showmanship, cleverness, emotion and tongue n cheek comedy all tied together with lyrics depicting the urban society of today (but certainly not as rude as much of hip-hop). I’ve been in the music business for 48 years and these tracks from Silk Sonic are not only genius but serious album-of-the-year material.
