I've been growing potatoes in "seaweed" in buckets... I have access to huge amounts of seaweed that washes up on the community beach. Works amazing

I never thought off using seaweed, that is such a great idea. While I love the straw and soil that I buy I really want to use other sources around me that doesn’t cost anything. Especially NOW!! Thanks for sharing!!

@@DennisD-yv4ys I’m not Canadian, I’m in Alabama. And I’m not near a lake but I can find a lake. Do they have something similar to seaweed?

I wish you a successful potato harvest, my friend! I may try planting some in my Greenstalk in the Spring.

Thank you dear friend! I would definitely encourage you to try and grow them in the greenstalks in the spring. And if this new method gives more production, I would try it. My goal is to grow an abundance of potatoes within a small space. 😊

I live in Central Alabama zone 8B. You could experiment with growing them in the greenstalks, I would just put it in the sunniest spot from now until your first freeze and you could roll them into your garage at night when it gets cold and see what happens. And if you didn’t want to experiment with all the tiers, you could try one or two tiers and see how that goes. If you try growing them now, definitely let me know how it goes. 😊
