His skating embodies the idea of street skateboarding for me. Speeding through urban areas doing tricks quickly and with power, making the architecture work for you. RIP
One of the things I love most about skating how when someone in our community dies, you dont have to worry about anyone honoring their memory. Especially someone like Huf. Whwn i first started skating we didn't have easy access to a lot of old videos. TH-cam was a couple years away and the Limewires of the world only had a few newer videos, leaving skate shops the only way to get videos and where im from youre lucky just to have a shop let alone a ton of skate videos. Roll Forever and Skate More were all id seen of him and didnt understand what a legend he was until i got older. He might now be quite as technical as these guys, but he was like an early Westgate or Busenitz. If im struggling with a trick, i always watch guys like him who make the basics look so amazing. Having not skated for years because of bullshit ans drugs and just starting up again super out of shape it helps
He was tied as my favorite skater growing up. I recall first seeing him at the big banks in 99 or 2000, turned my head to hear whose wheels were suddenly roaring along the top and as I did I heard the crack of an ollie and saw Huf mid-air, full speed landing down into the big bank and on his way just skating through so casually, on to newport/seaport. Met him there he was very cool. Then during that session I suddenly hear everyone there in commotion cheering. I was like "what happened?" My friend says "Huf kickflipped, REALLY good,..HIGH as fuck." Not sure there's ever been such a reaction to a flatground kickflip. Much respect to Huf. Imo best style ever.
Roll in Peace big homie. Crazy that so much of the crew has passed... Harold, Keenan, and now Hufnagel. Huge inspiration to street surfers and contribution to the East Coast style ✌💙✊
Thanks for all you gave to skateboarding, skateboarding wouldn't be the same without the great influence you had on the board and off. Will be greatly missed. Keenan and Huff forever 🙌🏼
I remember Seeing Keith in the 411 video gave me a hole new world of skateboarding he was sponsored by DVS is DVS shoes were fuckin RAW, thank you Keith for leaving us one of the biggest brand of skateboarding n it became urban street ware. Will always n forever remember what you did for skateboarding may your soul Rest In Peace!!!!!!
I didn’t even hear Huff had passed. So crazy. He was a master of the art of skating. What was best about Huff is he played to his strengths always and made less more by making less more. He didn’t need to be overly technical. He could make ollies look larger than life. You never get tired of the skater who masters the basics and continues to make it look incredible.
R.I.P. To a legend!! Used to watch Non fiction and Ride on every day before school. Keith’s parts were just amazing! Ripping through the streets poppin Ollies over literally everything with so much flow and steeze made everything look effortless!!!
One of the best to EVER do it...So much speed and style went into everything trick he did...He was and always will be so important to the progression of street skating...Just an AMAZING person...REST IN ETERNAL PEACE BROTHER
Hello! I am a freelance production coordinator currently working for the Japanese TV program and we are currently producing an urban street program (FOR URBAN ACTION SPORTS EPISODE) for Japanese viewers. I would love to use this clip for about 15-30seconds in our edit so TV hosts can watch. Is it ok to use this clip for our show?
Skate to the fullest ! Long live HUF
