I've been dragged back to Lisp recently. Loving the revitalization. I get the feeling there's something in Lisp that I'm needing that just isn't provided by other language. Not sure what it is, so it's a bit of an adventure.
@@CodeNextDoor I'm sure it is, and the code as data and data as code. Both require a refeshing rethinking of old paradyms. The urge to run off into the weeds and play is calling.
The AI Winter is over and now it’s time to dust off those parenthesis. I’m not sure I think it’s long overdue. We are kind of swinging to functional approaches for more and more things so maybe this is the natural extension of that
@@CodeNextDoor thanks for replying. What part of AI would you say is in most need of development? I'd say object recognition, but I don't work in the field. Just kinda poking my nose in and wondering if I could make a stab at something useful.
This was more a reference to Lisp roots in AI than any need. For a while Lisp was the language to do AI work in. A lot of Peter norvigs original work is done in Lisp. On a side note I think AI has gotten deep tunnel vision. Everything has to be a deep neural network but I’m not entirely sure they alone hold the answers to the general intelligence question
LIsp-Prolog is the creator/GOD of AI, ML one more is missing PROlog, learn it it s already supervised inputs, and both are 100 times faster than python anytime. The most power AI languages on earth since 1960.
i am still extremely repulsed by this whole paradigm, but giants are betting on it, so im gonna push through to see the light they are reporting about.
Help! I am trying to download a gnu emacs for windows but when you click on the mirror there are so many to choose from. Which one do you choose? Does it matter?

I believe that piece is the macro system.

@@PikuYost Do It. Your parens are calling; time to pick them back up again.
I think it's the parentheses.
Why are there suddenly all these guides for lisp when for decades it was barely mentioned?

Because machines with lots of RAM became popular and SBCL has improved its quality.

Make more of these!
Will do!
