While I disagree on some points, it's good to have someone dislike a franchise... it essentially means they want the series to do better. I half agree on the ridley's personality though, cuz it is told to us he is very intelligent and commands the enemies you face... but we never see that happening so I have to wonder, how does he communicate in order to give commands? Do his screeches have linguistic properties? Does he point at maps and type on computers? He's smart enough to do so but what does he really do? Otherwise... 1. Normal enemies need to not have a personality so you feel more alone on an alien world, that feeling of loneliness is an astounding feeling, like going to the bathroom for peace and quiet. We need that in more games. 2. If the games feel like mud to play, then metroid dread is the smoothest mud I've ever felt, making even 2d mario games feel more like mud. 3. I like to play games stoned. One of the best gaming times I ever had was with the second half of super metroid... my dealer was out of stuff at the time, so I loaded up my bowl with kief, turned out the lights, filled my stomach up, and proceeded to have the biggest kief hit of my life... then I beat the game. David Jaffe said he was stoned while playing dread and blames that on his inability to shoot a ceiling with an enemy on it, bro I was blitzed out of my gord needing duct tape cuz of how ripped I was and I managed to find that hidden wall that the x ray visor doesn't detect.

Yes, I agree that even from the moment that Ridley was announced, that I realised “ah, so they did have to shrink the purple raptor” But his reveal is hype, was one of the core four “vocally wanted” characters (Ridley, King K Rool, Issac, and Geno), and he play style fits his animalistic ruthlessness. Speaking of “vocally wanted” characters, it’s good to see that at least half of them got into Ultimate at launch, but after Ultimate’s release, the “vocally wanted” list changed to Waluigi being top priority with Geno being second priority (which just makes Piranha Plant getting added as DLC instead even funnier)
I’m not saying Isaac isn’t highly requested, but he isn’t on the tier of Ridley, K rool and Geno, the fourth character on that list should definitely be Banjo, definitely had a stronger grip on smash speculation than Isaac could have ever hoped to reach

I know this is a wacky shitpost (Alax's specialty) but I still find it ironic that the franchise he's defecating on has been dominating the eshop as of yesterday.
Ridley does have a personality though... he's cunning and malicious. In one of his victory screens he smirks at the camera while tearing into a corpse off camera (in teams its revealed he's digging into nothing at all, but I digress). When he uses his F-Tilt, he points his pinky up like he's making a toast. His Up-Smash and Back-Air have him moving like a trained fighter and not some savage beast. While in his boss-fights he's just a monster, his lore implications is that he's a strategic and cruel mastermind.
Pretty sure Alax knows that, and this is kind of a shit post. He's made several videos on the character before and has mentioned his actions within several games and even the manga. Though I somewhat concer Ridley's personality isn't really all too deep, rather it just simply serves well for his role as a villain.

Ridley does have a personality though... he's cunning and malicious. In one of his victory screens he smirks at the camera while tearing into a corpse off camera (in teams its revealed he's digging into nothing at all, but I digress). When he uses his F-Tilt, he points his pinky up like he's making a toast. His Up-Smash and Back-Air have him moving like a trained fighter and not some savage beast. While in his boss-fights he's just a monster, his lore implications is that he's a strategic and cruel mastermind.
Pretty sure Alax knows that, and this is kind of a shit post. He's made several videos on the character before and has mentioned his actions within several games and even the manga.
Though I somewhat concer Ridley's personality isn't really all too deep, rather it just simply serves well for his role as a villain.
