This is truly special. It's a great cover of Cruel Angel's Thesis already and doesn't make the common mistake of relying too hard on the zunpets and forgetting about the other instruments. The mix is actually really good and you can easily pick out all of the separate instruments in different directions. But the little change to the melody at 1:02 elevates it from a merely faithful cover. In the original Cruel Angel's Thesis, this section is the same as the opening notes. However, in this version where the notes are lengthened, and multiple zunpets appear, the emotion is concentrated in the climax of the song. Then there's an epilogue without the main instrument (not in the original Cruel Angel's Thesis), reminiscent of Yuyuko's last spell. Because of these unique touches, together with the decision to increase the BPM to one more typical of Touhou songs, the Touhou spirit really comes out. It's a genuinely beautiful work and surprising that you have so few subscribers (only about 100 at the time of this comment -- I'm sure it will grow rapidly).

I actually tried to replicate those dialogue-only sections of the songs you can hear in MoF with the outro, but the Yuyuko final spell comparison is pretty accurate! I actually make a lot of music, I just don't really post it anywhere; but the support this cover has gotten has definitely incentivized me to actually publish more stuff so expect more soon! Though now I feel kinda nervous 'cause I don't know if I'll be able to make something as good as this one :'v
@@nic1514 I feel that, the feeling you can never top your best work. However, the way I think of it is this: you won't always top your best work, but your goal can be to at least improve on a small aspect of it. To make an example with drawing, even if a previous work is my best overall, I can make a new one that at least has better line work, or better shading, or a new angle I've never gotten right. Even if your best music is a while ago, you will surely do things in your new music that are better than before. And so it's worth it.

Basically "What's the point of making something if it's not gonna be better than what you've already made?" but the lesson is to have fun in making what you do regardless. You're not always gonna do better than last time, but that's okay, because when you do, people best sit down, coz ho boy is there something great on the way!
