I bought one of those machines I believe in 1980 is a killer machine. I use it to weld on a 24in gas line. I bought that machine because I was rebuilding my 1962 Lincoln white pipeliner with a continental engine, the old one had a crank start plus a regular starter. That weldanpower was a good welding machine that's why it took me so long to rebuild my old Lincoln rig. Plus you can put a high-frequency on it to weld aluminum. Plus the Tig welded really good also. It came with the 16 horse Briggs engine. Well that's my two cents about that welding machine it sure made me a shitpot full of money..
My father is a welder fabricator and was a foreman who bought all the gear for the shop he swears Lincoln welders are the best hes got a old lil mic pac in his garage he uses for small jobs and stuff and its BEAT still works awesome though
Great old machine i just brought one from an auction 230$ changed the plug leads runs weld,s like a new machine ,the slip rings look good the welder has on 50 hours on the clock with 100 foot leads . welden power 225 onan engine two power outlets 6000 watts.1985 model.was a bargain one guy beat me up on the auction price could of got it for 100 bucks as it was sold as scrap.
I spent hundreds of hours using one of these when I was in the Structural Steel Business, It was an oldie back then (maybe not so old as it was weathered), I eventually gave it a nice paint job. I wonder if that old welder is still around and doing work today.
i have this same machine but the 18hp powered 250 amp version. it had over 15,000 hours , and the 5th engine threw a rod. i keep 'em maintained very well,i dunno why thoes john deere engines keep throwing rods and shitting all over themselves on me,but they do. as much as it hurt,i finally hauled her to the dump a few days ago. i got about 7,000 hours of use out of her,and i enjoyed every one of them!
Bought one in 2008 from a guy in Mims, FL. I fixed it up so that everything works. Starter, and idle circuit work good, carburetor is very adjustable. I live in the Caribbean now, and i still have this welder here in the tropics. Just put a $35.- Amazon muffler on it, and it sure quieted down a lot.
@modernblacksmith --- So what kind of wire setup would you run with it? A genwelder is one of the last I need for my stable. . . The last deal I found on one, was a newer Lincoln gen/welder with that LN-25. I passed the deal on to Doug (the guy I work with) and he snagged it up. I watch CL for a good deal. . . Seems like when I do find one on there, I'm broke, or it's gone in 5 minutes! Hahaha
@FRUNTCASTER well, it can be anything with a machine that has cc/cv it will run anything. the LN series works with any constant amperage type welder by switching the juice to constant voltage then feeding the wire, well, if you have constant voltage available you can run the wire direct. such an a suitcase or a spoolgun without changing the input. the spoolgun is the best because I can drag the leads to the job 200 feet away and run it without any accessories direct from the machine.
@FRUNTCASTER you know the benefit of the cv on this machine is I don't need the ln-25! I've run them in the old days building oilrigs, nice machines started out with the ln-7's
Never had it out but a long time ago I found a service manual online and it had a complete diagram dont know how I found it though, and its long gone just like the welder
Hey I have one . Mine did something weird today. Do u mind I contact u by email or something to try and get it figured out.? Only thing I did different was switch from dc+ to dc- to weld tig for the first time . Or can someone in the comment section help me out ?
hello. I don't know if you still have this machine, but I have one the exact same yet it is in worse shape. I am looking to get an engine model number to order a carb for my machine. if you can post that for me that would be awsome
Standard 12V Battery, matter of fact if I remember right when I was in the steel business we welded on a custom battery tray and just used a 12V car battery on ours. I imagine originally it used more like a lawn tractor battery.
I traded a Cub cadet garden tiller for one and it's missing solenoid linkage parts I haven't been able get a clear picture of how the linkage goes together and one of the parts, the paddle I think they call it is obsolete, so I will have to make one ,if you could send me a picture of the carb and solenoid assembly I would really appreciate it, also a buddy of mine said never jump these off with a car it will fry the board Thanks Steve
make sure you constantly check oil on this guy. They are splash lubricated and if your low your will break the rod rather quickly. just happened after I changed oil. Anyone rebuild these? It was my fathers and I want to keep it and I do know that you can not use any other type of motor. Thanks
So I have the weldanpower 225 acdc from 1984 same engine Briggs stratton cast iron.......it shit the bed yesterday could you point me in the right direction? I give try to turn it over @ 1:00 th-cam.com/video/zWFo__4APiQ/w-d-xo.html

I just got a slightly newer version of that welder I love it and those old cast iron briggs were great engines
My father is a welder fabricator and was a foreman who bought all the gear for the shop he swears Lincoln welders are the best hes got a old lil mic pac in his garage he uses for small jobs and stuff and its BEAT still works awesome though
I just bought one like this at a surplus auction. I got it for $300 and all it needed was a good servicing and it works perfectly.
Just Got oné too For $300
I'll give you $301 for it. You can spend the profit on a stick of gum.
i bought one of these cheap at an auction and it looks like it went through a war. it still welds good if i can get the engine to run right

Yup, I like the older welders better, less electronics, means less to go wrong and cheaper to fix, Nice. Thanks William Orange county, ca.

What Amazon muffler was this?
used to work with this diesel unbreakable 100 % reliable
thats one of the best machines ive ever used

Try and find a Lincoln LN-25 for that rig. We use ours for mobile welding, and it beats the snot out'a changing out rod all the time.

What kind of starter does it use
Just got a G7 like this for free. Come spring I will see what it needs to get it working.
I have a Lincoln 150 and I was just wondering if by any chance an idle thing can be installed in it? And if so what will I need?
I have the same welder I just purchased but the starter is missing and I can't find any #s for engine please help!
got the same machine and she's a hunny.
Where do you find parts for your machine
I need wires for the same machine , what you recommend
could you find a good deal on tig welding machine 220 volts 60hz
@jdouglasfisher I know just braggin a bit....you know this old machine runs an arc like nothin out today, it's so smooth. like it has 3 phase power!
Did you ever have the engine out of its and if you did I need to know if it's going to take a screenshot on the output side
Never had it out but a long time ago I found a service manual online and it had a complete diagram dont know how I found it though, and its long gone just like the welder
How much weight you figure that is
250lb
I have a 225 and the idle down or idle up is not working. wondering what it takes to get that working again.
all the smoke inside? 😳

Oh yeah you can run a 9-inch hog grinder and well at the same time wouldn't drop any amperage, and it's smoke a 3/16 Rock

@jdouglasfisher buddy, I can weld inside out upside down!! ok, video coming soon!
I have one of the old raskels!!!
I have one of these, nearly mint condition. The battery is dead because it sat so long. I was wondering if you knew what voltage these batteries are?
Standard 12V Battery, matter of fact if I remember right when I was in the steel business we welded on a custom battery tray and just used a 12V car battery on ours. I imagine originally it used more like a lawn tractor battery.
como consiguir la biela para ese generador
modernblacksmith How much did you pay for it?

Steve, did you ever get a picture? I’ve got this same model and can message you with it if you are still looking!

There not bulletproof. One of the slip rings on my armature cracked. I had fun changing it. But that old brigs is still going strong.
