Ever since I read "The Flight of the Intruder" by Stephen Coonts I've been dreaming of building this airplane on a scale that allows a high level of detail. Thanks to you.

Hell yea, I can't get enough of modelling videos since I've been shut in since early March.

Normally you find modellers on youtube adding rivets to kits, this is the first removing rivets build I've ever seen!!

Your photos of that marine A-6 is defiantly an early intruder where those fus speed brakes used to be

I have a small scroll saw blade that I cut down and put in a pin vice. You could drill a small hole in the area of interest then use the frankensaw to cut the rest. You could also use a “hook blade” for a box cutter.

About cutting that lip off to get the aftermarket intake in. I know it is a bit late, but if you need to do something like that again. I would suggest clipping the lip off as much as you can and then using a new SHARP #11 blade and slice the plastic down to the recessed area. It would be a lot cleaner and a lot more precise.

I would have gone with kits originally, just spend sometime sanding

I use the Trumpy panel line tool much better than exacto or scalpel blades. Just a thought.

RB pico saws. I scribe panel lines with them. But be careful. They are a tad bit flimsy and bend easily.

Is there a reason why you didn't prime in black?

Very interesting video on a technique not normally covered. I was interested in the dental power you used. Was that a kicker liquid you used to harden the dental power? Thanks for sharing your work with us.

Could you not have spent the same time tidying up the inner seam lines rather than adding the new resin parts and the accompanying surgery ? or was it worse looking in real life than on camera ? great video by the way.

Acrylic dental powder and super glue. An old Paul Budzig trick.

Hey Matt totally unrelated I was watching your video on black basing gloss sea blue and you had mentioned how it weathers differently and wondering how you would do it. You’ve mentioned you like 1/32 scale so I understand that the Trumpeter 1/32 f8f Bearcat is one of their better kits and those planes in pics seem to have be extremely weathered under the French in Indochina, sooo maybe a idea for a future build log. Thanx

Took on a 1D Corsair last year so it'll probably be a while before I have another go at gloss sea blue - but it's absolutely a challenge, both in that the blue didn't really fade, and that oils show differently over it (and anything with any red tones in it looks extremely brown). My Corsair had the further challenge of being pretty new and thus still relatively shiny. At least French Bearcats were more...broken in. doogsmodels.smugmug.com/32ScaleAircraft/132-Tamiya-F4U-1D-Corsair/i-X5SVxN9

I use a diamond file and file down until I'm close and then I use a iron file until the piece is gone.
